This building that currently houses MJ's Eatery on Houghton Lake Drive in Houghton Lake, Michigan was originally built and opened as a Wendy's location around the late 1990's, only for it to close down permanently in the mid to late-2000's after only a decade in business due to a lack of customer base in this part of the area, from certain research i could find online,

A while after Wendy's left it remained vacant, and then it later became Bobber's, which didn't last long, It then became MJ's Eatery, which is still there as of 2025.

P.S: This is the first ex-Wendy's I've seen where it had the old blue tiles that had the bright neon "EXPRESS WINDOW" sign that glowed during the night, which albeit, has long since been removed

  • On the other side of the lake in prudenville there was a old Burger King that turned into a restaurant called baileys place which they just tore down not too long ago

  • Michigan represent!

I’m from downriver, have never been to houghton lake before.
