(I'm so, so, so sorry, I didn't really mean that, and the idea just popped in my head and made me laugh, and your's was such a genuine, helpful comment, and the juxtaposition with my stupid comment just made me laugh harder, and I would never say that irl, and I truly apologize, the intrusive thoughts won and I hope you have a wonderful day)!
Seriously. I can allocate and dedicate ten hours for sleep, take 3 hours to fall asleep, and then wake up 2.5 hours later and be unable to get back to sleep for the next 4.5 hours.
I would do absolutely anything to be able to live my life around a schedule of a 30 or 32 hour "day" where I can be awake for 20-ish hours and sleep for 10-ish hours.
Prioritizing sleep has changed my life, I'm happier, nicer, more productive. i still might only sleep 6-7 hours some nights but i wake up on my own without an alarm and if its my day i might even take take a nap in the middle of my day and end up getting a total of 10-12 hours of sleep that day.
I've started to lull myself to sleep with audiobooks. I'm being entertained, while still being responsible. I eventually fall asleep and in the morning it's a fun game of finding where in the book I lost consciousness.
As someone with chronic insomnia, it infuriates me that there are people out there that willingly neglect their sleep. Like, they could choose to sleep well, but they just don’t. Meanwhile I do everything to prioritise sleep. If I want to get 8 hours of sleep I’ll need 12 hours in bed.
Do you guys not get side effects from tiredness? I went through a 6 month period recently where I didn’t get more than 4 hours of sleep every single day and my head and eyes constantly felt like they were going to explode from the pain
u/ChickenWingExtreme, there weren't enough votes to determine the quality of your post...
On one hand you can get 8 hours of sleep, wake up refreshed, and be functional throughout the day.
On the other hand, vidya games.
I sleep for 8 hours and it still doesn't work. On weekends I sit around in bed for a few hours after I wake up and then I feel alive
To me, super late night is my moment for creativity and working on those projects that I definitely cannot only put 20 mins into...
Hey, those Radscorpions aren’t going to kill themselves!
Funny that he sent that at 11:13pm
With my routine that gives me 2 minutes to spare to wind down and fall asleep!
That's a good time to go to bed
Man. I can get a chill 8 hours, and still wake up somehow more tired.
Same. Literally got 8 hours last night, still tired af downing coffee at work
Have you tried drinking a glass of water before sleeping?
have you tried shutting the fuck up?

Nah, I just have chronic pain. Makes getting to sleep hard, and cause my body is still stressed, even while asleep, I don't fully recover.

The more you need to fall asleep the longer you’ll stay up panicking about needing to fall asleep
That is true. It's best to just enjoy the fact that nobody is making you do anything. Physical rest is still rest.
This has happened to me before and is more horrible than it sounds
Funny that you think I can instantly fall asleep

I was being a smartass. As long as I'm on a regular sleep schedule and stop drinking caffeine 5 hours before sleep I'm gucci.
I'm jealous. I wasn't being a smartass.
I can't even make myself do 6 hours of sleep when I give myself time for 8. With the exception of when I crash on the weekends and get ~10
problem is, whenever i manage to do that, i always wake up at 2pm after having slept through all my alarms 😅
I always wake up at 5:45a, both unable to fall back asleep or to get up and get moving.

Was unemployed for 4 months and found out my natural clock is 24 hours awake, 12 hours asleep. Never felt better in my life.
Sleep should pause time. Or I should be rich with no job

Getting enough sleep is very important

The coffee emoji might also be a clue.
I always feel guilty when I get 8 hours.
Solution: shut down your alarm
Easy fix... I go to bed at 10 and wake up at 3.
I got to bed 10 hours before i need to wake up and I still dont get 8 hours of sleep.
Just sleep 4 hrs and then 4 hrs before work
I don’t know if I feel seen or attacked. Haha
As someone with sleep apnea who's lucky to get 5 hours of sleep.. This infuriated me more than most'll ever understand.
How do I fit 8 hours of sleep from 2am-6am?????
Sleep double.
