The scientist Edward Teller, according to one account, kept a blackboard in his office at Los Alamos during World War II with a list of hypothetical nuclear weapons on it. The last item on his list was the largest one he could imagine. The method of “delivery” — weapon-designer jargon for how you get your bomb from here to there, the target — was listed as “Backyard.” As the scientist who related this anecdote explained, “since that particular design would probably kill everyone on Earth, there was no use carting it anywhere.”
fireball up to 50 kilometers (30 miles) in diameter, instantly igniting everything within 400 kilometers (250 miles) and causing a magnitude 9 earthquake.
Only 10.000 Megatons?! That‘s tiny.
I say we build it and test it (by ship) in… Novaya Zemlya, Russia.
Me explaining to the WMO and IAEA: The nuclear winter hypothesis hasn‘t been proven yet, so we need the data. To better model the climate ofc.
That's basically what the Buccaneer was for, except treetop level is flying too high so they fly over the ocean surface instead (with a rotating bomb bay so wave action can't rip the bombs off the pylons).
My grandpa flew them, he was training to get below the height of the hull of a Sverdlov-class, pull up and over the ship in a vertical climb, drop the bomb, pull over, run. The bomb, travelling up then down, would take enough time to blow the ship that the Buc would be far enough away to survive.
Needless to say, he’d have been instantly torn apart by AA the second he got above the thing, but it was a nifty idea.
Supersonic dash to the target at treetop-level. Followed by ejecting the nuke upward by a small blackpowder charge.
You fly straight ahead, as you loose less speed that way.
Sir, this is NCD. Once we realize we are inside the cardboard box of real systems even harder than Solid Snake, we will remember our true calling and say "Orbital."

The real life personification of Cave Johnson's "WHY NOT?!"
Ah, sundial. The logical extreme endpoint of MAD.

Rocket lofting works a little better with helos.
Most based method? Treetop level supersonic rush into bomb toss using a retardation method like fins or chute for the payload.
The payload is of course, in the kiloton range, and then the dropper completes the split-S and cheeses it before the flash.
I suppose hiding underground is one way to avoid thermal flash.
Just flip it vertically it'll be fine

This mofo' L.A.B.S.
Grumman LLV.

Definetly Greenlight Squad.
Imagine a Tomahawk Cruise Missile Greenlight Squad
Just to be clear: It wouldn't be them driving a round a truck or something with a tomahawk inside. They would have a Tomahawk Backpack.
No.
Greenlight delivery via Tomahawk.

Tomahawk greenlight squad delivery via tomahawk.
I'd say the most based is France's nuclear warning shots.
Trebuchet.
Well delivering warheads by truck is rather funny. Just drive in distribute short ranged drones, no expensive rockets necessary.
Viggen. Where else do you read "climb to 30m to attack" in a combat manual?
