Helpdesks are even being reduced due to AI. The Tech industry is going to be really... not great from here forward.
It was booming when I went into it, so I was very lucky. Tech industry, start ups, everyone needed workers. Now I hear it is brutal, over saturated and what once were good jobs are low payed and temp at best.
They don't tell you this at school or college that companies want to take you as an intern or temporary employee with reduced or no pay and that is the experience they are looking for.
Essentially the way to get experience without personal connections is free labor. This isnt the same with the trades as much, only programming and technical positions. In the trades~ companies have a vested interest in say a welder or electrician and actively scout for you if they know you exist.

They already use AI in place of graphic artists. It doesn't have to be very good, just free.
Nobody cares about a young person with a degree, they want someone with experience.
