A residential program for women with substance use disorders has reopened its newly renovated home in Newport News.
The South Eastern Family Project provides residential care for women across Hampton Roads, including those who are pregnant or postpartum and those leaving hospitals or jail.
The renovated residence serves up to 16 women at a time, offering therapy, peer recovery support and parenting classes.
Officials say the program fills a critical gap for women facing housing instability while seeking treatment and recovery.
