  • Yeah I’m only currently ASD diagnosed but I identify strongly with the middle ground and my psych who diagnosed me told me I’m no uncertain terms to get an ADHD diagnosis.

  • It is accurate for me, and I have both those conditions.

  • What is with all of these charts the last few days? πŸ€”πŸ€”

Something that needs to be added to them is the high number of autism related 24 year olds suicide rates etc

It’s for us right brained people to understand these conditions.

    What if you're ambidextrous? πŸ˜›

Joking aside, seeing them over the day yesterday, I've gone from against these to it seems like a good idea for those who use/need them πŸ€”

    But...

How do they help in helping you understand? (Genuine question! As I never 'get' anything from them. My partner creates stuff like this for people like us often for her job, and I eventually in the future want to go into helping young people with our conditions)

But the only problem Im having with them is they never have the high su*cidal tendency rate among younger people with autism/ADHD, which I find frustrating at times.

What I like is visuals because I am 70% right brained and 30% left brained so it is easier for me to see info in a chart rather than read long reports

Do the specific colors of it help too? And the circles?? πŸ€” Because, like these the three colors I see often on those behavior and mood information sheets etc they give us are purple yellow and green, and they use rectangles instead.

(I'm full ambidextrous which affects my synesthesia with colours and tasks and sound etc That's why I ask, I sometimes don't think of other people as also having these things lol)

I am also a synesthete, and what Wikipedia calls "mixed handed". My synesthesia is number form and mild grapheme color. It affects how I do math mentally. I was considered gifted in math growing up, which I now credit to my synesthesia. I empathize a lot with synesthete and autistic author Daniel Tammet's memoir Born on a Blue Day (especially when he wrote of feeling inadequate growing up comparing himself to his younger neurotypical siblings). Tammet now lives in Paris with his husband.

My little sister is NT and left handed, and a visual artist, but not a synesthete. My late maternal grandmother was a gifted musician and left handed too, but she grew up in the era when teachers still made left handed kids use their right hands in school.Β

(I haven't heard "mixed handed" in a long time!! Or both handed and double handed!!! πŸ€” Lol) That's really interesting. I'm going to ask about 500 questions now lol does your colour work in a way that you remember amounts because of the colours of the actual numbers or do you have like a personal colour palette, remembering/seeing the actual color and do you see the numbers in 3D/4D ( I always say 4d, because of how everything moves in every direction as i have no depth perception so 3d means nothing to me ) and move them around in your head or vision etc? Or is it all linear in a 2D way?

I'm going to look him up and have a read as I've not heard of him!

For me, I've always said to people everything is color, shapes, emotion, sounds and words with color in color, 4D, etc and goes a little deeper than that but I often cite it as the source of my bad moods (lol) because everything has sounds so sometimes there are just flashing brown colors with everything. Everybody would always laugh at me when I would mention it and I assumed everyone was like that, I didn't know till my partner said it wasn't the norm. I'm good at painting, writing and music (I don't know music theory, it's all by ear), like I say, it's all shapes and colors to me, my thing has always been a style called cangiante and i was big into the Renaissance style. The way the color was used on the Sistine chapel ceiling and walls is the height of music to me (as ridiculous as it sounds). My dad was the only left handed one in our family and he would "talk in color" also, but he was a terrible artist (πŸ˜‚)

My internal number line is 2D I think. The numbers have a specific place and color, but no number is vertically higher or lower. (My internal list of months of the year is like that though - January is highest and December is lowest).

  • damn I thought I only had two problems when I actually have three.

the thing this doesn't get across is what it's like when you have both and are trying to e.g. seek novelty and familiarity at the same time.Β
