The old set up was cramped and got messy easily. This time i got my bed by the door, so the bed wouldn’t slide out of place and create that annoying gap. And i put my desk by the window to get the most desk space for my drawing tablet and pc set up. As well as im trying to quit smoking so it would help me quit smoking out the window. I also added a curtain for privacy cause yk. Ignore the unused pc by the chair, it cant update to windows 11 but my mom got me a new computer (the gaming laptop). I still need to sort out my figures and plushies, clothes ect.

Maybe over a thousand in value, the one ontop of my shelf is 1 thousand alone. But i go for bargains/second hand, so i get a lot of them discounted despite being very expensive before. Only a few are brand new and i typically only get them if ive been good and ask for one.

I had a friend in school who was the same way, room full of anime figurines and a steam library that was just insane. At the time they had a gaming pc with a GTX 295 that was pretty sick.
His parents basically just left him alone and let him buy whatever he wanted, some time during early high school they let him move into the detached mother in law suite they had built in the back yard. His family definitely had a dynamic that I’d never experienced before. As a teenager it was pretty sick hanging out with friends in a parents free zone to smoke week and play video games I gotta admit.
The state that room would get in would rival many of the worst posts I’ve seen on this sub lol

Genuinely in a lot of cases no, but in my experiences the main thing thing is not being seen through it.
Even if it’s not actually feasible for anyone to do so (as seems to be the case here), neckbeard types really value privacy.
I am not a gooner or a neckbeard (I hope lol) but I like to not be seen inside my own house, as I smoke a lot of weed and own like 15 bongs, my neighbours are an old lady on one side and a traditional Muslim family on my other side, so it's better if they don't know what I'm up to. I have some curtains open during the day though because I like the natural light, and my dog likes to lounge in a patch of sunlight from time to time.
Have you tried privacy film for the windows? I used to live in a place with privacy windows, no one can see inside during the daytime, just when the lights are on inside at night you could see through from outside with whatever they used at that place.
They were kind of mirrored from the outside though so there was a raven that came to the window every morning to look at himself and peck at it and make horny noises, so I guess the bird was a gooner for himself

You’re off to a great start. It can be hard to know where when rooms get that bad but you’re doing it. I know video games and being if your room is a safe place for you and many others, but try to consider blocking out some time for other things that don’t involve being inside or on a screen. Even if it’s just going for a walk by yourself around a park or to a cafe to pick up a drink. It makes such a difference.
The hard part is keeping on top of it: Try to spend 15-30 minutes a day tidying. You might be finished before or you might not finish it all but at least you’ve kept on top of it a little bit each day.
If I can also make a little suggestion: if you’re allowed to, consider putting shelves on the wall rather than those units. You’ll free up so much more space for yourself and it’ll make the place feel a little roomier! Keep up the good work.

from what i’ve seen article/ post wise. i think the consensus of the 2010 is the show is high quality, positive, little things can be picked up by adults (like jokes) and the characters are fleshed out. also it brings a sense of community to them and neckbeards are online a lot and probably run into more niche fandom groups. the demographics of people who would ignore social norms and become obsessed with a pony show are probably pretty similar to neckbeards. and i’m guessing the weird fetish stuff is inherent with a somewhat large male audience but it’s not the majority.

Honestly… I’m (hopefully) a good ways off being a father, but I am getting to an age where it’s becoming a real thing to think about.
And man, if/when I do become one, I hope to be very open and accepting to whoever they end up being. I grew up with an often-absent dad who was always clearly disappointed I wasn’t like him, and who made no effort to try and connect with who I actually was. I don’t ever want to be anything like that.
That being said though; shit like this makes me worry that, actually, there might be such a thing as being a bit too open and accepting with kids, lol. Genuinely don’t know how I’d handle it and it kinda stresses me out thinking about it.

Grades? Historically, a B or better student all throughout middle school… Currently just started in a technology magnet school and has... All b+ or better.
Drugs or alcohol? he got peer pressured into trying a vape on the school bus home last year and came home crying because he hated it so much and felt so guilty for doing it. Weed and alcohol both disgust him because his biological father is heavy into both and he sees his biological father as a loser. (still loves and has a relationship with his father, just sees through what he really is now he’s older… Which I’m proud of, because I would never say a negative word about his father in his presence).
I’ve only been in his life for 3 years but I’m so proud of who he’s becoming in that time. I don’t know what effect I have it haven’t had on that but I just don’t want to fuck him up.
