This is my first completed piece in a series I want to do. I definitely underestimated how long this would take. Finished is only 5.5in x 7in but there were so many color changes, it took MONTHS to complete. This was also my first time making a pattern for myself, AND for it to be realistic. How did it come out? Please be honest with me.

Holy crap! Is that entirely shading?! It really "pops" off the canvas. I thought it was 3D stuffed.
I mean... the flowers are real.
πππ
this is STUNNING did you make the pattern?? i know there were probably so many colors involved but the realism effect definitely worked!
Yes. I took the photo I wanted to use and put it into a program that converts it into a pattern. There were a few spots I had to frog and change colors on bc it didn't look quite right.
I was wondering the same! Did you create it from a picture? It's gorgeous!
I did! I was kinda afraid the offwhite color and purple would make it look too much like a weird rendering of a photo, but it reminds me of the old desktop images where they'd come out looking pixely and off color lol
It does have that compressed .jpg feel to it!
This is sooo beautiful!! I think you did an amazing job!! I can't believe how many different shades there are!! I also love that it isn't like, stylized? It literally looks like a photograph of someone if you view it from further away. It is super cool how the cross stitch looks like a real person!! Amazing job, 11/10, please keep cross stitching!! π
Edit: I said crochet when I meant cross stitch π€£
Thank you so much π I was kinda afraid the offwhite color and purple would make it look too much like a weird rendering of a photo, but it reminds me of the old desktop images where they'd come out looking pixely and off color. But yes, it does look like a normal b&w photo from far away, or if you squint. I probably used every shade of Grey available in DMC lol
Omg, I wear pink lenses, I didn't even realize it was purple!! That's awesome!! DMC Greys hate to see you coming lol
i do not wear pink lenses and also thought it was just grey! great work op!
Dang, that's amazing
Gorgeous work! Jaw-dropping.
It's gorgeous m, you did an amazing work, well done. How did you make the pattern? Did you use a website? Or just on your own knowledge? I would like to do something like that from a picture.
I used PC Stitch and imported an image
This is awesome!
Absolutely gorgeous work! The shading is amazing
I would be so happy if a βphoto patternβ turned out this well!! I canβt even see the purple, I see an awesome 3-D effect.
This is gorgeous π
This is brilliant!
Your patience is amazing. All those similar colors. Turned out amazing π€© Especially considering itβs patter made from a photo. The confetti of it all usually makes me abandon, so well done for the finish!
It was quite the feat, and my first time doing something so detailed. Thr back is a hot mess of course, but i dont really care about backings.
No one should care about the back anyway (imo). What is visible looks amazing π
Oh my goddess! That is stunning.
Wow π zoomed in after reading your comments to see all the colours. It's funny, when you do the nipples lose all definition then when you zoom back out they reappear and pop. It's really effective
Riiight? Its such a miniscule part of the pattern, and I thought i had done it totally wrong until I saw the piece as a whole and it totally works.
Whoa! Thats cross stitch?! Its stunning β€οΈ
Everything but the flowers!
Its stunning, you should frame it!
I plan to π
this is so sick!!! came out amazing
