One of the theories is that lobsters benefit from the food scraps from the conger eel, whilst the conger eel gives a false sense of safety to the lobster and patiently awaits its next moult to eat it.

My Red Eared Slider turtle named "Cool Guy Spike" would get a couple goldfish as a treat once a month. He decided a white and black spotted one should survive. They lived together for probably 2 years before the fish side eyed him wrong and got got.
Thatās kind of funny
He was a cool turtle, he unfortunately passed away and is living in turtle heaven nowš¢ š
How long did he live? Iāve had a red eared slider since 1997 and heās still alive and well.
picture please!!
Iāll have to take one and get back to you.
Red Ear Sliders can live pretty long but I dont wanna say something judgemental or mean to that owner. Maybe it was sick
Could have been old when he got him?
I'm gonna be honest, it sounds like he might've gone to turtle hell
I would like to see this as an Adult Swim short.
Those monthly goldfish feedings were probably terrifying for the goldfish that wasn't being eaten, lol.
Had the same issue with my slider. He picked one goldfish out of dozens and let him live with him for 12 years. Then one day out of nowhere he tore him apart but didnāt eat him. I tried to save the goldfish by isolating him but he died a few hours later.
man that fish probably called him a turtle slur or something
"He called me a sheller"
With the hard R!
Kinda sadisticš¤·āāļø
Omg lol
The eel thinks it's invisible. Then the light turns off at the end and well yeah that eel would be impossible to see without artificial light.
I always come across them by accident when free diving and they scare the living hell out of me! They have quite a powerful bite!
Ohh that's cool I assume you took this video yourself then? Nice.
Correct! I only share my own content!
Cool I will follow you here on reddit
Thatās very kind thank you!

Goodnight, lobster. Sleep well. I'll most likely kill you in the morning.
Gotta keep it alive until heās ready to eat. They go bad quickly, after all.
The dread pirate lobbinsĀ
From the makers of "The Fox and the Hound" comes "The Lobster and the Conger Eel". IMAX only.
Saving for that midnight snack ?
They're roommates
When renting prices are steep enough you do what you need to to afford a space ;ppp
Friendliest looking eel Iāve ever seen
You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours it's a survival strategy twice the chance of catching food š
Iām guessing the lobster scavenges a bit and the eel does a bit of hunting each win. I donāt have a clue Iām just making an uneducated guess.

Quote 'You scratch my backā¦' as the easly memorable summary of this eel-lobster alliance.
Then tack on 'ā¦until the moult' so folks instantly get the twist from teamwork to dinner.

Lobster said, You're bothering my long friend here.
That lobster walked up and said FAFO.
Lobster coming out like an old man wondering whoās on his lawn with that loud music
"Don't you talk to me or my emotional support lobster ever again."
Thatās amore!

Sushi lover?
I love my smoked salmon sushi.
Yes but I rarely see conger eel on menus. It was more common when I was in Japan.
Is it good?
I catch them all the time - so much so they can be a pest fish - and have never taken one home for the table.
Yeah, Iād say itās a light white-fleshed fish. A little more delicate than the unagi you typically see in sushi restaurants.
Why ?
Animal team ups are always funny. Nothing beats that teeny tiny frog standing as tall as he can while dwarfed by an enormous spider that protects him while he babysits.
just look how confident he is under that big ass thing.
Usually aggressive creatures like this that give mass births participate in early stage cannibalism, sharks and spiders and mantises and so on. But I like to think that survival of the fittest sometimes comes down to a tie and you get three or four equally for spiders, brothers that learn to work together and fight together (spiders are solitary) all under the tutelage of master hopper, karate frog.
Interesting they are hanging together. Eels scare me.
Crazy watching the eel breath under water. Hmmš¤
I hate double boss fights.

I smell a sitcom!!!!
Me & the bear side eyeing each other, hiding from the man.
How does the lobster know he wants to pinch the person with the camera to death and not the eel? I didn't think they would be smart enough to "learn".
