Whenever I drive up to Scotland I always think to myself I should! Spent a lot of time in the lakes or climbing in the peaks but I know there is so much more to see and do from a nature and wildlife perspective in this corner of the UK
Definitely recommend Lindisfarne, it's cool, historic, and they get basking sharks sometimes in the summer. However, it's on the end of a causeway that floods at high tide (so check the tides unless you want to get stranded), and there is some quicksand in the area as well.
The explanationis way above my pay grade but essentially the closer your angle of incidence between you and your subject and the subject and the sun is, the stronger the effect of your polariser is (and thus, the more scattered light you block)
It was just very hot that day! Their down is not waterproof so they canāt go in the water to cool off so they pretty much bake in the sun and keep their beak open to regulate their temperature. There were a couple of clusters of chicks and a couple of adults here and there, but most of the penguin population that day was gentoo penguins and rockhoppers!
Thank you! The full size shot is in 8K so itās just a key framed digital crop in post!
I feel like my āthis is AIā days are coming to an end after posting consistently for months ha
NGL, because of the key frame zoom and the constant wave motion I legitimately thought it was AI at first and I had to stare at it for a good bit and check the comments. I really hate the fact that people posting AI slop makes us question legitimate art. I do wildlife photography and luckily the people posting AI bird photos are pretty easy to spot, the LLM's at the moment don't know how to make birds look real without overdoing it. Absolutely stellar shot though!
Looking A.I with the waves barely sprawling out on shore, the seagulls hardly react to the water that should be hitting their ankles, the land in the background looks fake
Sorry if I don't believe a stranger on the internet who doesn't have any info on their profile about who they are or about their photography. Literally no way to look into your claim of no a.i. Maybe if your work was real and cared enough about your work, you would put information and links up on your profile to help support your claims that's its all you and no help from any a.i programs.
You obsess over tiny details on the video to try and call me out for using AI and yet you canāt seem to find either my instagram profile (with a decade of my work and behind the scenes) or my website which is literally my name, which are both visible in my bio. If you had spent 2 seconds checking my profile instead of writing up your opinion piece you might have saved yourself some embarrassment. Anyway, here is a photo of me on that very beach, and some photos I took of that very penguin and other chicks and the metadata associated with them. You are probably going to say they are AI at this point but whatever.
Obsess over tiny details? As a fan of Sherlock, that's quite the compliment, thank you š anywho, i did say I looked at your reddit profile and I did not see any links or info under your "about you" profile but that's ok, I can see where the misunderstanding mightve taken place. perhaps the 2 seconds it would've taken to read my response and try to understand what i was saying was too long for your passive aggressive self and decided to skip straight to a not so helpful response. If your original post was truly about sharing your work, perhaps trying to share your info without being arrogant and belittling would help. Embarrassing.
The King aināt aloneā¦just took some time to get his thoughts together š¤ļø

He's too cool to be with other penguins
OMG stunning. Absolutely stunning.
Thank you very much!
Come to Northumbria in England. Youād love it.

feels like an older Corona commercial
I did put a polariser on the lens and shot close to a 90° to the sun which really made the sky pop! Thatās probably what is giving it that feel
How many surfers are there in the Falklands? You see them out there sometimes?
The only surfers I saw were a pod of Commersonās dolphins!
The slow pan-out of the beach too, was a big thing for Corona. In the before times. Before Corona.
can you explain a bit what you mean here? curious amateur photographer here

colours look incredible. no grading? š±
Thank you! No creative grading, just applied a clog2 to Rec709 conversion and stretched the waveform a little bit.
Or the a cinematic opening to The Penguin backstory

Breathing looks labored. Penguin chicks arenāt usually isolated, are they? Hope itās okay. :(

My pleasure!
Well I guess the pleasure is for all of us, thanks to your generosity! š„¹
It's so fluffy, I wanna pet pet pet
How did you zoom out so smoothly? Is there a button you hold down on the camera to do that at certain speeds?
Iām surprised there arenāt AI comments yet. This is an awesome shot

Whilst I donāt know what happened to it since, there was no indication that he wasnāt not a healthy (albeit a bit hot) penguin

I believe you might be thinking of emperor penguins. King mostly breed in South Georgia and other sub Antarctic islands. I might be wrong but only AdƩlie, Emperor, gentoo and chin strap breed on Antarctica itself
Nope, you're right.Ā
