Hello, I wish to get my girlfriend a gift for next month and I would very much like to gift her some sort of hair ornament. I am white myself, so I am quite clueless on what would be useful and nice for poc hair. She mostly likes having twists if that helps! Thank you for the help
Why a hair “ornament”? Women in general are particular about the types of things they put in their hair, products or clips. And what she can use depends on how thick her hair is and how she likes to wear it.
I would skip the hair ornaments as a gift full stop unless she has specifically pointed something out and was like “this! I want this!” Headbands can hurt. Hair flowers can be heavy and have claw clips that rip the hair out. Clips can look cute but not clip properly due to the curls. It is so based on the hair type, head shape, overall vibe they are going for.
What about a cute piece of jewelry? Trip to her favorite restaurant? A bespoke jewel encrusted sword? An army of domesticated raccoons that will do her bidding? A dress or trousers with actual pockets filled with snacks?
Get her some silk scrunchies or hair bows if it fits her vibe.
