We’ll I’m giving you a reason his numbers. Pretending that Judge hasn’t been a major factor in the playoffs failures is nonsense. Cashman is awful at his job, but Judge has consistently failed when it’s mattered most
He's definitely struggled in the playoffs I won't deny that. But last year he did break out of that in a big way. Unfortunately the rest of the team around him failed this time around.
These fans kill me, they bash the Yankees management for “Only caring about the regular season” while praise major choker who only plays good on a regular season.
Yankees ain’t winning shit as long as their best player its a legendary choker. HE wasted some Yankees good teams, not the contrary.
We can be hopeful, but every piece you just listed (except the bench bat) needs to be an impact piece.
If the projections haven't changed, I think Rodon is coming back early May, and Cole is coming back early June. That's roughly 20 missing starts from a top of the rotation arm. Add to that, we need to figure out ~125 innings for the bullpen now that Weave and Williams are both gone.
There's a LOT of innings that need to be soaked up that the Yankees have yet to address, and the bigger issue is that they're high quality innings that need to be addressed. There's plenty of off-season left, but I'm really curious how they're going to address these missing innings.
Cole, 35 yo, coming back from TJ and not expected back before June 1st.
For any SP to be a needle mover it's gonna have to be Peralta because Gore is another lefty with a career 4 ERA.
Any RH bench bat is gonna be worse than Goldy vs LHP last year.
And for relievers you're gonna be looking at the deadline or around then before Cashman makes moves.
On the one hand, I don’t view Cabrera as a high end pitcher (though he has upside) so I’m not too burnt up about missing him specifically. On the other hand, we still have done jack shit this offseason and now a guy we were pursuing is gone. Not great.
Yeah I dunno, it will look bad if Gil and Schlittler aren't good this year but you almost have to give them a chance rather than trading for a different unproven guy who had a good year right after turning in a 4.95 ERA in Florida.
Ha Jimmy and Jake got a text halfway through yesterday’s ep that really let the air out of their balloon. Now we know why. I suspect the Yankees passed on Cabrera’s medicals.
Could also just simply be they don’t have the prospect capital to compete with other teams in trades. Marlins prob don’t value much of their farm. Assuming they wanted a solid bat in return. I don’t think Dillion Lewis and Ben Hess was ever going to come close to getting it done
You mean the same way they passed on Jack Flaherty's medicals at the July '24 trade deadline? It's interesting that Flaherty was healthy enough to help the Dodgers win a WS that year.
Can we please just acknowledge that Cashman and his people have no clue what they're doing most of the time? Judge + a team of league average cheap-os is good enough for a shot at the playoffs and that's enough to keep Cashman employed. They'll find players from the trash bin, shine them up a little and that's the team.
I dunno, but I have the feeling that the Yanks are moving the goal post continuously. First, it was Imai. Then, it was Cabrera. Now, it is Peralta and Gore. Rumour has it that they passed on Imai, because they wanted to use the money on Bellinger, Tucker or Bichette… But they are far removed from Bellinger. Probably out on Tucker and Bichette. Hopefully, it will work out, but it seems that they will get squeezed for every dime with Bellinger again. The Yankees tend to have these kind of offseasons lately. Stay put until it becomes uncomfortable and then overpay for a player to satisfy the fans. But this strategy is destroying the Yankees, because you are left with regressing players on big contracts. Cashman keeps stacking up deadweight.
i think they’ll make a competitive offer on Belli, Judge and him became really close the same way he was with Rizzo, i think they’ll sign him and say we’re not signing anyone else, if they were smart they’d sign Bichette who’s a superstar and is only 27
I doubt they get either. Obviously they need to move their asses and make some moves, but I doubt they spend a ton of resources to get more starting pitching. They mostly need depth. Cole and Rodon will both be back early in the season, with Fried, Schlittler, Warren, and Gil all presumably ready. Elmer Rodriguez could also make the team with a strong spring too. I don’t think it makes a ton of sense to sell the farm for more. You obviously can’t count on all of those guys staying healthy, but you just need enough of them to be ready in October.
Just sign Bichette, move Jazz to 3B. Put Warren of Gill in the bullpen when Rodon and then Cole come back. Yarborough nand Blackburn also in the pen or spot starter in case of injury and there is the possibility that Elmer Rodriguez makes the team. If that rules out signing Bellinger then so be it. We hav Judge, Grisham, Dominguez and Jones which I believe can make a very good outfield. Time to get moving.
Jazz sucks at 3rd and Bo sucks everywhere. It’ll be like when DJ was at 2nd last year but somehow worse. McMahon is a solid hitter with great defense who also makes Jazz better by letting him play his natural position. I’d much rather Bellinger (and especially Tucker, no matter how unlikely) than Bichette. I really think he’s the free agent who’s gonna age the worst. He was already the worst defensive infielder in baseball, and I don’t think moving to 2nd is gonna save him for long.
I have never ripped Jazz as a player. He’s the 2nd best position player on the team, and that’s not gonna change unless they sign Tucker or if Rice matches his peripherals.
"MIKE WHAT THE FUCK IS CASHMAN DOING?! IS THIS PIECE OF TRASH EVEN ALIVE MAKE A MOVE!!!!!! ARE WE GONNA SIGN OR TRADE FOR ANYONE THATS NOT A LUIS SOJO JR?!
Excited for people on this sub to tell me again that the Yankees pitching is elite, we don’t need to add, and bringing Bellinger back will make this a great offseason.
Freddy Peralta and Mackenzie Gore are probably better options in several ways, but there’s no go guarantee they won’t be outbid there either.
I dunno. The Trent Grisham QO seems like one of the all-time gaffes at the moment if you still refuse to trade Spencer Jones or Jasson Dominguez for one of these guys.
Why is everyone so sold on Mackenzie Gore as a solid option? Because he had a 13 SO game at the beginning of 2025? Ffs the guy slowed down a ton for the rest of the year and had a 4 ERA to finish the season.
Because he’s still young, at 26, and his upside is well…exactly that. He’s got some years of control under him and he’s not shown the durability issues that Cabrera has.
Good, this guy is injured all the time and quite frankly will cost too much because he has 3 years of control. Dude has pitched over 100 innings ONE TIME and supposed to be a starter, hard pass.
Jets and Yankees fan here. I just endured a lot of shit with the Jets. My only ray of hope was looking forward to the start of baseball and rooting for the Yankees. An organization that usually gets things right. I hope they dont screw things up too. In football you only get pissed off once a week, and are miserable the other 6 days. Baseball we can be pissed off 3-5 days a week. I can’t just can’t endure another catastrophe like football season.
The Jets haven't had a winning season since 2015. They were 4-13 last year. They sucked for a while. The Giants were also 4-13. Neither of them are remotely comparable to the Yankees. The Knicks, Mets, Rangers, Islanders, have all had losing seasons in the last 5 years.
The Yankees have never had a catastrophe season since 1992 lol
I was initially annoyed about this but seeing how much Chicago gave up, I think it’s not worth the risk. I’m not giving up my top prospect for potential.
This offseason has been garbage, and once again fans get on the trashfraud bandwagon when a trade or signing is speculated. “CaShGoD!”. Then it all falls through and the same morons are out there saying “didn’t want him anyway. He’s buns. Have faith in cashfraud”. Wild
The cubs gave up a top prospect plus others for a guy with a sub-.500 record and an ERA over 4.00 for his career. Does he have potential talent? Absolutely. But he hasn't translated that talent into MLB success yet.
And while yes he was on a terrible team, it is possible for talent to thrive even on a bad team. See Skenes in Pittsburgh as an example
Dunno how the Cubs managed to get Ben Hess and Dillon Lewis /s
I mean, the Cubs are trading a top 100 piece. Ben Hess is not that.
lol we’re running it back with even less than we had last year
Literally wasting the prime of one of the best players in baseball history who took a discount to stay with us for the rest of his career
Hal needs another yacht bro, is what it is 🤷🏻♂️
He wasn’t even invited to st. Barts for new years soo sad.
Should have performed in the WS when he had the chance
Ohtani, the leagues golden boy, went 2 for 19 in that WS which amounted to a .105 average.
Judge batted .222
So what about the other playoff series where Judge choked on astronomical levels?
Ohtani separated his shoulder
[deleted]
We’ll I’m giving you a reason his numbers. Pretending that Judge hasn’t been a major factor in the playoffs failures is nonsense. Cashman is awful at his job, but Judge has consistently failed when it’s mattered most
He's definitely struggled in the playoffs I won't deny that. But last year he did break out of that in a big way. Unfortunately the rest of the team around him failed this time around.
Yeah he was awesome last year. We wasted it.
“Struggled” lol
These fans kill me, they bash the Yankees management for “Only caring about the regular season” while praise major choker who only plays good on a regular season.
Yankees ain’t winning shit as long as their best player its a legendary choker. HE wasted some Yankees good teams, not the contrary.
i have confirmed that i will not be running it back with the NYY this year lol
Gonna go be a Dodgers fan?
Why would i do that
Cashman is a joke
Last I checked, the offseason wasn’t over
And the most they're going to do is run it back. That's the best case scenario
It’s not at all?
We are getting Cole back, and we’re still probably gonna get Belli, a SP, a RH bench bat, and a reliever or two.
I could be wrong, but at the very least, I’m gonna hold out some hope
We can be hopeful, but every piece you just listed (except the bench bat) needs to be an impact piece.
If the projections haven't changed, I think Rodon is coming back early May, and Cole is coming back early June. That's roughly 20 missing starts from a top of the rotation arm. Add to that, we need to figure out ~125 innings for the bullpen now that Weave and Williams are both gone.

Cole, a Cy Young winner like two years ago.
If anyone can come back better from TJ at 35, he can.
Gotta be positive here. We can be negative about a whole host of issues, but I think there’s a solid chance Cole contributes for us this season.
He might be better but it’s gonna take half a season for him to get the feel again he won’t be elite this year just inconsistent
Dylan Cease finished 4th in Cy Young voting more recently than Cole won Cy Young.
Cole isn't going to be that guy anymore. He probably won't even be back to 100% till 2027.
Cole won UNANIMOUSLY 2 years ago. Brain dead take.
Plus the fact that Grisham will probably not approach the year he had last year
On the one hand, I don’t view Cabrera as a high end pitcher (though he has upside) so I’m not too burnt up about missing him specifically. On the other hand, we still have done jack shit this offseason and now a guy we were pursuing is gone. Not great.

He's a feast or famine pitcher. He has amazing stuff. But he could also have 7 walks in a game and it wouldn't surprise you.
Ha Jimmy and Jake got a text halfway through yesterday’s ep that really let the air out of their balloon. Now we know why. I suspect the Yankees passed on Cabrera’s medicals.
Heyman reporting we weren’t even close, doubt it was the medical.
Yeah Jimmy especially, mood was instantly down
I assumed it was Red Sox given jimmy’s tangent about sleeping with socks
Hey, if that’s true, fine. Medicals can be scary
Could also just simply be they don’t have the prospect capital to compete with other teams in trades. Marlins prob don’t value much of their farm. Assuming they wanted a solid bat in return. I don’t think Dillion Lewis and Ben Hess was ever going to come close to getting it done
Me neither tbh.
Yup considering who the Cubs gave up, I can't imagine it was ever really that close.
You mean the same way they passed on Jack Flaherty's medicals at the July '24 trade deadline? It's interesting that Flaherty was healthy enough to help the Dodgers win a WS that year.

Bro I saw that! Mood went instantly down
dude is a walking tommy john surgery waiting to happen
Who cares both those guys are clowns. f jomboy
Get Freddy Peralta and everything will be fine.
They’re going to get Cashman’s white whale Verlander and call it an offseason.
Been washed for four years
So what, it means we get Kate Upton at our games.
Verdugo took him deep. Nuff said.
I dunno, but I have the feeling that the Yanks are moving the goal post continuously. First, it was Imai. Then, it was Cabrera. Now, it is Peralta and Gore. Your best point is “rumor has it” because everything is rumor and conjecture at this point.
You wish the rumour is true. If it is false, then it means that Cashman is sitting on his hands and has no plan or strategy.
What goal post was there to move about Imai? Everything we heard about them was that they weren’t interested in him at all.
i think they’ll make a competitive offer on Belli, Judge and him became really close the same way he was with Rizzo, i think they’ll sign him and say we’re not signing anyone else, if they were smart they’d sign Bichette who’s a superstar and is only 27
Peralta is better for this season, too.
HE IS A rental. Depends how much Milwaukee insists on players. NOT giving up Jones or Dominguez for a rental.
“We tried”
“We were in on him. The market just never materialized for us.”
Everyone should wake up and realize Hal and Cashman aren’t doing shit. It’s Cody or nothing
It’s intentional too. They want to appear to have tried, but really they don’t want to spend and are using the potential lockout as the fall guy.
lol this team never makes any moves
Open a live stream just in case
“We’re not done yet!”
Narrator: They were in fact done
I would have liked Cabrera but as long as they still get one of Peralta/Gore this doesn’t bother me that much
Also lol Talkin Yanks
If you watch The last episode Jomboy gets a text that basically confirmed the deal was falling apart
how can a deal fall apart when they were never even close to begin with.
Source?
[Heyman] Cubs are working on a deal for Edward Cabrera reported it is getting close with Cubs. Word is Yankees were “never close”
https://www.reddit.com/r/NYYankees/comments/1q6l97e/heyman_cubs_are_working_on_a_deal_for_edward/
Wow that's a bad look. All that hype for nothing, again.

230 is solid? Mendoza line is sliding again.
He doesn’t hit for average, but he walks a decent amount and has good power. There’s more than one way to be a hitter.
But yesterday you guys ripped Jazz for hitting 260 with 30 and 30. Selectively lowering the bar for the white guy much?
I have never ripped Jazz as a player. He’s the 2nd best position player on the team, and that’s not gonna change unless they sign Tucker or if Rice matches his peripherals.
This is why you only trust actual reporters
This is why you can only trust Jack Curry
What if they DON'T get one of those two either?
Then I will be a bit bothered ngl
Cashman is like "IT'S TIME" trades for Justin Verlander
I think that’s a low chance, though
Then thats a problem....
But let's wait and see.
Every move they can seemingly make, they’re not making. 😐
Took the cubs top prospect. I’m not giving up Lombard for Cabrera
Talkin Yanks truly jumped the gun here huh? Lmao
Grasping at straws for content like they’re a pirate’s pod.
Talkin Yanks as actual journalism in 2026 🥀
Cashman is fucking useless
We got Yarby and Blackburn and 35 year old Cole coming back from UCL, we are good.
We’re not running it back, guys. Our team will actually be worse next year.
Very true
This team is finishing 4th in the division. Fuck Cashman and fuck Hal.
This comment gets posted pretty much every offseason and it has been wrong 99% of the time
Lol
His elbow is basically waiting to explode. I’m fine with someone else taking that risk
all while Cashman does nothing
Shit we aint doing anything for real
"MIKE WHAT THE FUCK IS CASHMAN DOING?! IS THIS PIECE OF TRASH EVEN ALIVE MAKE A MOVE!!!!!! ARE WE GONNA SIGN OR TRADE FOR ANYONE THATS NOT A LUIS SOJO JR?!
I'll hang up and listen."
We-ah not talking Blake Cashman today, ugh-kay! Another clown that waited on the line for two hours to say something stupid.
(sips Diet Coke) Back Afta Dis!
Pulse? What’s the movie where they drag around the corpse? Uh uh… Weekend at Hal’s
Those medicals must've been nasty
Excited for people on this sub to tell me again that the Yankees pitching is elite, we don’t need to add, and bringing Bellinger back will make this a great offseason.

Those two will cost more than Cabrera.
You assume the Marlins want either of those guys.
I wasn’t necessarily saying they were the holdups in this trade. Doesn’t seem like anything was close. Just commenting in general.
What a joke
Now I’m gonna go cope by constantly telling myself that Freddy peralta or Mackenzie gore are better options
Yankees Ownership to the fans: LOL get fucked
As long as we “checked in on him”
Cashman’s job is so safe,he doesn’t have to do anything at all.
Yankees were never close lol
Damn peralta it is. Thought yanks had a steal with that alleged Ben Hess deal. Jake sucks!!!!!
Good, this guy is injured all the time and quite frankly will cost too much because he has 3 years of control. Dude has pitched over 100 innings ONE TIME and supposed to be a starter, hard pass.
Jokes on the Cubs, they're never going to turn a profit at this rate!
But Talkin Yanks said…

Yankees fans are just insane right now lol
God the Yankees suck constipated ass.
the Yankees suck constipated ass.
Not surprising given the reaction of the Talkin Yanks crew at the end of the last episode and Michael Kay's comments.
We are truly watching the downfall of the most powerful franchise in sports. Fuckin shame
I feel so bad for Judge. He doesn’t deserve this, and neither do the fans. Cashman needs to make a move already!
Haha cheapie Hal and sleepy cashman
"It's right in front of us!"
Can someone explain why we keep seeking starting pitching? We got 3 expensive starters already. Whose gonna hit? Grisham lol?
Hess is going to be better than Cabrera, who had one above-average season in his late 20s. I'm totally fine with this.
Wild
Lmao anybody else tired of expecting anything anything from this team?
The Cubs?! What could the Cubs have to offer that the Marlins could possibly want more than what the Yankees have to offer?
This offseason has me numb.
Did we really need Cabrera? Cole, Rodon , Fried, Schlittler and Gil... I say focus on bats and bullpen
Peralta better
TalkinYanks video in 3...2...1...
What is wrong with us?
It’s almost as if signing free agents for nothing but money is smarter than needing a dance partner to take your prospects.
🙄
