They certainly do. Personally I think he does very well with “stars”, or what you might consider a top 50 ish player in the game. Usually those guys make sense to teams. He does drag things out, he’s trying to get every penny.

Whether the reported ask of $300M is true or not for bellinger, he always starts ridiculously high, and then eventually comes down to a very reasonable spot, usually what the contract prediction were at the start of the offseason. This in turn leads to an awful experience for the fans. Because they want the excitement of the offseason to be a constant thing, not something that only happens in the last few days of the offseason because a bunch of big stars who are Boras clients kept holding out.
His job is to get the players paid and be their public advocate. If he wasn't successful, the players wouldn't join his agency. Boras has no responsibility to help the Yankees keep more of their money or maintain a budget at their preferred level. Spring Training is still over a month away, so there's no hurry to cave to anyone's demands on either side if they feel fair market value of the player's services haven't been met. All the stuff he does with the media is just fluff that can be easily ignored. The only thing I don't like is when he tries to take influence with the union leadership which could be anti-competitive for other agents.

There's really no update. It just is what it is for now. At his age and given his production, Bellinger isn't the type of you go above and beyond to secure. The problem is Judge is 34 and we really need a legitimate LF and another bat in the lineup. We're running out of time with Judge, but I don't think the Yankees operate with that mindset. I don't even know if they care that much whether he wins a title during his prime. I'm sure they care, but I don't think they care the way fans do.

I may be down voted here and oh well, but is belli really worth a whole lot of cash at this point in his career? Yes he had a great season with yankees but other than his dodger map days he has not been alll that. So I would hate to see yankees throw a large contract his way and he ends up like cubs belli.
If he wants over 30mm aav then he has to be under 5 years, or have team opt outs. I just don't see how this works otherwise.

There's really no update. It just is what it is for now. At his age and given his production, Bellinger isn't the type of you go above and beyond to secure. The problem is Judge is 34 and we really need a legitimate LF and another bat in the lineup. We're running out of time with Judge, but I don't think the Yankees operate with that mindset. I don't even know if they care that much whether he wins a title during his prime. I'm sure they care, but I don't think they care the way fans do.
What would a reasonable contract for Belli look like?
I hope the Yankees are at least entertaining the idea of signing Tucker as a replacement. He's probably waiting for Bellinger to set the price and ask for more, but he's someone that would be worth it to sign for extra years.

Here we go again with Cashman’s bs approach to player negotiations - it’s always the same with him to try to get a player to accept a low ball offer - you want to much and we already have a replacement in mind so we will be fine without you. The player reps are all stealing his signs! The problem is he loses the best players year after year. If he does the same thing again this year he should go too!
The whole argument I keep seeing about how the team doesn't need to make drastic moves since they won 94 games last year and had the best record in the AL is growing increasingly dumb with Hal's stubborn frugality. The Blue Jays probably aren't done and have already improved their team. Anyone who thinks the Yankees still come out on top rolling out the same team is in for a rude awakening in September.
