Yep. Even today we are doing terrible things but as long as it’s “normalised”, everyone turns a blind eye until decades later when people look back and realise that people in 2025 were terrible
No way. Apes are brutal to eachother and yet Humans care for and improve the ape habbitat. We will just be like apes to AI.
On the other hand Humans that control technology to their highest advantage may be very dangerous. Or better said, humans that control tech to their highest advantage are very dangerous.
The concentration Camps where kinda like Human slaughterhouses. The true horror wasnt that so many innocent people where killed, it was The industralisation of genocide.
From what I can see on the ushmm (us holocaust memorial museum), these photos are recreations and the people dragging the body are survivors of Dachau. Not sure how accurate it is, but I'd assume quite accurate considering the source.
Mauthausen is in Upper Austria (Oberösterreich) rather. The camp functioned under Nazi Germany. Lived there and visited there. It is truly vile what happened. The steps to the quarry were made different heights and lengths specifically to torment the inmates carrying rocks up the steps. When they would inevitably fall and drop their rocks, they would be punished for it. This was only one way they tortured those poor people. That place is like visiting another reality. Soul shaking.
My Grandfather was transferred here at some time in Auschwitz as a POW, the nearly “interrogated” him to death while trying to work him to death, feelin lucky to be born!
He said they made prisoners carry endless heavy loads up those stairs of death amongst other seemingly pointiest tasks when they ran out of legitimate work to do.
That’s insane!
To ponder things like this, and realize how close you were to having never existed.
I need to pry more details out of my uncle, he knows more about my Grandfather’s captivity. I just know that he was a gunner/ crewman on a B-17 Flying Fortress, he was wounded when the plane was shot down, and he was taken prisoner by the Germans. I guess he wasn’t treated too badly, he said they got turkey dinner at Christmas, but he was very skinny when he was released.
I think the reason my grandfather was interrogated so brutally was because he had an uncanny resemblance to his brother who was in intelligence and they thought he was lying to them about the mistaken identity.
After some time doctors at Auschwitz requested he be transferred to Matthausen.
My grandmother was able to send him lard covered bread rations when the supply chains were taken down, he met some good Germans and the doctor in Auschwitz saved his life.
I know it’s taboo to talk about but he denied any gas chambers being used for execution in Auschwitz, he said their were plenty of other ways to die, hanging, firing squad, inmate conflict, typhus, being worked to death, starvation or hypothermia, he told my father and uncles that many stories told about the war 40 years later were hyperbole, I wish he was still around so I could ask him some questions.
Ironically these days in many places you can get charged legally or thrown in prison for saying such a things, though that was his lived experience, who am I to deny that?.
These days I wonder what the true reasons behind these world wars may have been despite this cartoon of history we have been sold since birth, was it all just Frank Ferdinand and Danzig or something much more diabolical?
Who seems to benefit/profit the most from geopolitical conflicts?
This is so coincidental but the other day, a fellow college student started talking about how the holocaust wasn't that bad and it was mostly made up and that he would be ok with going through what they went through because it helped modern science, I want to show him this so bad, I wanted to scream so hard at him. I can't belive people still think it was a hox or didnt matter that much
I visited the camp a few years ago. The massive stone mine still is visible, it was a very interesting, albeit morbid experience, lots of memorials around which is a good thing so we conserve the memories, even a soccer field further away from where inmates were held.
Let’s hope that, even if incompetent leaders will always be around, we won’t ever see a repetition.
And the remains of immigrants are probably feeding the gators for the administration to get rid of evidence as they build more camps and prisons for Latinos.
The sad part is, the political rhetoric calling one side a Nazi, facisit, etc won't look at these pics and see what they are saying is way out of line.
OMG that's bad way worse than the cartel stuff that I have seen a few times and just sad- this is only the second time I have clicked on a photo on here and this is a good reminder as to why.
The more you begin to know, the more you realize how true it is that mankind is the most dangerous animal in the world
Yep. Even today we are doing terrible things but as long as it’s “normalised”, everyone turns a blind eye until decades later when people look back and realise that people in 2025 were terrible
And when AI figures this out and is capable; it will remove humans from the equation.
Oh no, my 401k 🫤

The first pic looks like it was taken inside of a human slaughterhouse.

It may be a gas chamber. I’m not familiar with that specific concentration camp.

Where were they carrying those rocks?
To be used for various building in the camp. Walking those steps is a sickening experience

Your college colleague seems like a person that has never experienced hardship or war.

Not much bothers me when it comes to death...but that first one...sheesh.

Horrible cunts.
Too sad to bear.
Reminds me of something happening in the Middle East rn
They don’t wanna see it, they don’t care

The sad part is, the political rhetoric calling one side a Nazi, facisit, etc won't look at these pics and see what they are saying is way out of line.
This is the direction that fascism goes. It doesn't start with this.
It starts with deportations and "detention centres" - and ramps up through ill-treatment, cruelty and eventually torture and death.
False, it starts with name calling and the refusal to engage in a civilized conversation
So…. MAGA, then.
Because it’s not a conversation when one side is constantly spouting lies and deceptions.
LMAO funny seeing as how Trump and MAGAs entire identity rely on not having civil conversations and name calling, MAGA=FASCIST
No, it’s not way out of line.
Maybe instead, the side being called Nazis need to step back and take a look at how their words and actions are mirroring 1939 Germany.
