I've seen a ton of 'multicam' videos, or even just phone shot videos of single songs from a lot of different concerts, and the majority of them, you can clearly see the concert is being professionally shot. I imagine they must have at least 100 concerts with pro footage in the vault.
Like how ACDC has retired? :)
I hope Muse will retire at the perfect time of their career before they die on stage…
They've referenced ACDC for a reason lol
MUSE are definitely in that bracket, they're literally on record saying they are inspired by The Rolling Stones and want that sort of longevity.
For better or worse!
They’ve been professionally recoding every show since the BHaR tour so I’d like to think they’d release something given the sheer volume of footage available.
Why wait until retirement though? Metallica do a great job of releasing footage on YouTube throughout their tours. They seem to have adapted to the modern way of doing things well.
Still got my fingers crossed for a ‘director’s cut’ of the HAARP performance in 2027.
Or Earls Court 2004...
Ohhh yes please. Wasn’t there an issue with the recording of those shows? I think originally they were going to go with Earl’s Court over Glastonbury for the tour dvd as a technical error led to most of the footage being unusable. I could be wrong, it’s been a while. Some cleaned up audio from those gigs would be amazing, mind!
If I'm not mistaken, Tom Kirk said they weren't satisfied with the mix. My theory is that maybe they thought the bass was too low, which I can kinda hear on the recordings that are available to us.
Ah interesting. I’ve not listened to the bonus songs from the Abso dvd in many years. Shame if that was the reason for the dvd not going ahead!
I recently re-bought the DVD to replace my long lost one, and had completely forgotten it wasn't the Earls Court gig!
Glorious is sat in the vaults
On............... film?
God I hope so. Call me crazy, Id love a remaster of Hullabaloo. The constant camera changes make it unwatchable.
Yeah, I listen the the full Le Zenith uncut concert on YouTube constantly, and it is hard to watch, but God I love the Tom Waits opening, it fits perfectly
THIS
I think they'll "retire" by slowly doing less; longer waits between albums, fewer tours, even fewer variants on the setlist.
Maybe a few one-off singles or shows over a 5 year period then nothing.
Just us, waiting for an album that won't ever arrive, knowing as we wait that if/when that album comes we will fucking hate it for not being Origin/Absolution/Black Holes, but we'll want to spend £350 for a ticket to watch them play so we can complain about that as well.
I think they are already retiring. In a slow, long-term process… but yes, retiring. And, judging by the way they handle this kind of thing, it seems likely that the releases would be far from what Muse fans would want.
It seems more realistic that the festivals themselves would release some gems, such as Pinkpop 2007, recently added to YouTube by Pinkpop itself (great gig by the way, wish the audio could get a better treatment).
Lol it's cute you think they'll retire lol
They won't retire, but I also don't think they'll pretend Muse is hip and cool either. They'll just fade with time, play less gigs, make less music, more side projects and enjoy life.
MuseBootlegs has fed me so many incredible gigs thorough the years <3
Even Plymouth 1997 is a good gig.
With SHIT audio sadly.
