My plan is to have movies playing on my TV through the day as friends stop by to hangout. I would like to put together a "Festivus For The Rest Of Us" movie playlist for my house.
What films should I have on my list? If you have an explanation for that film I would love to hear it.
Dinner for Schmucks feels like a good movie for Festivus. An employee trying to get a promotion gets invited to a dinner his boss hosts that's essentially a show and tell of who the guests find to be idiots.
Punch Drunk Love works because Adam Sandler and Philip Seymour Hoffman have one of my all time favorite airing of grievances scene.
Oh great choices!
8 bit Christmas is underated. Modern classic
I love that movie. Plus the ending might be considered a " grievance".
Riot (1996) set during a fictional Christmas Eve riot in L.A. where a SAS soldier must rescue the British ambassador's kidnapped daughter amidst gangs and IRA trouble- Stars Gary Daniels & Sugar Ray Leonard
It has been added to the list.
This Is The End
The World's End
Friendship
Just added to the list.
Seinfeld episodes would be perfect! Start with The Strike episode where Festivus actually happens. Then maybe some comedies that capture that cynical holiday spirit.
I was thinking of looking up any movie references used with Frank during the series.
Fight Club
Definitely adding Fight Club.
Bad Santa
Billy Bob is always welcome to the list.
Awesome.. I don’t remember if I saw the sequel tho
the intro to the game The Division
I had to look it up and it gave me an idea to adding "commercial breaks" between movies.
Added to the list.
Going with Dodgeball: An Underdog Story for feats of strength. Because if you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball!
Also for Feats of Strength, Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky. Because I think Frank Costanza would approve of brutally over the top prison kung fu!
"Dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge" has been added!
I'm down for putting Riki-oh on the list. I had Kung-Fu Hustle on the list.
