The fact that NPCs often just stand there without doing anything was something that always bothered me.
But today, I met an even more static guy right in front of my street.
He stood in the exact same spot for about five hours without moving, and I’m not exaggerating.
So I went to ask him if everything was okay. He said yes. Then I asked why he had been standing there like that for so long, and he answered:
“Like that. Why?”
I didn’t bother him any further and left.
In the end, maybe Morrowind’s NPCs aren’t that strange after all.

I installed the SHOP mod that gives NPCs a script to start following you around to make sure you're not stealing. Ngl having Ra'Virr walk upstairs in his house and not stand in the same spot he's been for 20 years freaked me out a little.
oh… this comes from a mod? i tought i dreamed of this behavior from some merchant, but at the time i just threw mods at the game, mod organizers didn’t exist

I used to find a spot i liked a ton whenever i didn't have access to a TV it a phone, usually easy on my feet and had nice noises to listen to. Would stand there for hours just.... Waiting.
I kind of miss it.
I have one of those as well, it’s a ~30 minute walk away. I used to hang out there with friends when I was younger, now it’s kind of nostalgic to just stand there. Certainly my place to be when I need time to think. Can’t imagine a better place to be a Morrowind NPC for a while.
