Title of the post lol. My brother gifted it to me, and it is expensive and beautiful. Within hours I made the stupidest mistake of cuddling a puppy with sharp claws while wearing it. It now has a small hole and also a pulled thread. I don't need it to look perfect, but would like to have it patched before I wear it anymore. Any recs? I have friends with the skills, but ideally I would like someone able to match the yarn as close as possible.
Thanks fam

PS Merry Christmas
A picture would go a long way if what you’re prioritizing is a specific color rather than the technical ability
Noted, good point. I'll edit in the morning. I will add that it's not just the color, it's the yarn too (if possible)
Try Repair Lair or Sew What for repairs or recommendations…
This is the way.
I have 100% alpaca yarn in a couple colors, beige and fawn. If one matches and the weight works I'd be happy to give some to someone who could mend. I could potentially do it but it would not be invisible!
Bless! Can I DM you a pic later?? I would also be more than happy to send you a few bucks for it ofc.
Yes, send a pic! Hope it works out
I can't, but the next time I see an Alpaca I will mutter "I damn you" to it
Cuddling a puppy is never a mistake.
The cuddles weren't a mistake... not taking off my brand new sweater first was 😭
I can pick it up and say darn
And there are folks who say we're not good neighbors to each other here in MN.
The Hennepin County Fix-it Clinic would help you learn how to mend it yourself (or do it for you, many times). I volunteer there and love to help with darning projects.
Also, Curiosity Studios Mending Happy Hour is awesome. They have materials and will help you learn!
Love this! If I can find the yarn, I will def look into this. This is not the first nor will it be the last time I rip a hole in a sweater.
Take it to a yarn shop like StevenBe.
