Unfortunately me and my girlfriend are sick during Christmas and when we're feeling better I want to treat her to a great meal. She is gluten free and vegetarian, which makes it hard for me, a meat eating wheat consumer, to come up with many great options. So I'm looking for help! Willing to travel just about anywhere in the metro so fire away!
Colita is fully gluten-free and also has multiple veg selections.
To add to this, Colita is a Del Prado restaurant, and all his restaurants are very accommodating for gluten free. Porzana, Cardamom, Martina, Rosalia, etc are all really good. If you go to any of their websites there’s a menu selection for sister restaurants where you can see his other restaurants.
Brim is totally gluten free with lots of vegetarian options. Hola Arepa is largely gluten free with good vegetarian dishes.
Teahouse. They can make almost anything gf and they have a killer vegetarian menu.
This site is great.

Olivia’s is completely gluten free, great food and bakery.
Owamni is gluten free with many great vegetarian dishes. And a great view!
Francis burger joint is completely vegan and has dedicated GF prep spaces and fryers!
Reverie or Francis?

Bambu in oakdale is amazing - lots of gf options (Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese cuisine)
I read this as a place to get takeout for Christmas lol. I was gonna say, I'm making 2 giant lasagnas for Christmas 🎄 both gluten free, and one with sausage and the other with impossible burger. Was gonna say, I'll pop a slice for both of you on the porch! Lol 😆
But in terms of when you're better and can actually taste things, I recommend Hola Arepa, Quangs (they have a vegan soup) etc. I was GF for years and I've been vegetarian for awhile, I feel like there are increasing amount of options
Sweet that you even considered it 🥲 haha
A lot of Thai food is gluten free. This is St Paul, but there are two with vegan options. I recommend Basil Thai. They have a great Yellow Curry with Tofu
If you’re looking for something really fancy, I love Alma!
Pizza Luce.
The Howe or really any of the Craft&Crew restaurants should have lots of options for both of you!
Their gluten free is disappointing. Lots of modifications that take away the flavor or “gluten free” that is not safe for celiacs (shared fryer).
Honestly everything at The Howe is disappointing.
Yeah I'd agree, it was extremely mid. Even the gluten options were just okay.
Oh shoot, thanks for sharing that.
I used to eat there with a gluten free (but not celiac) vegan who liked several options there. Maybe things have changed, or you have different tastes. I’ll keep that in mind!
