I'm looking for recommendations, ideally near SW Minneapolis, but really anywhere in the metro, for a good place that I can take a couple young kids to play inside. I know about the indoor playgrounds, but I'm looking for something like an indoor field or gym where I can just run them around and play catch or something without running into a basketball game or other activity. Bonus points for things open this week and next.

  • Edinborough has an indoor playground but also a big gym area with balls, bikes, etc.

  • Good Times Park was my FAVORITE when my kids were younger. It was large and had an indoor playground and an open gym. and for the playground you could sit in one spot and see your kids on the entire playground easily so you didn't have to move around when they did.

  • Call your local rec center - a number of them have designated times for children/parent play.

9th street soccer has open fields couple mornings a week, I believe, though might be crowded during school break.

  • Have you checked out the Family Fun Twin Cities website? They have a really comprehensive guide to kid-friendly entertainment in town.

  • Good Times Park in Eagan. Southeast metro, but it’s what you’re looking for. There’s a turf area as well as a basketball court and a bunch of other areas for kids to get their wiggles out.

  • So many. Inneractive in Plymouth slick city action park.

I know you said you know about the indoor parks, but do you really? As mentioned here edinborough has gyms for kids to play in etc. I know there’s one Eagan called something like good time park etc.

  • Golden Valley Brookview community center has a huge indoor jungle gym.

The building looks like a Borg ship.

  • Kids Empire. There is one in Bloomington and a new one in Roseville. Thank me later.

We bring our kids with friends and play board games while the kids play. There’s TONS of adult seating.

  • Eagan community center has a great indoor play place.

  • Edinborough, kids empire, slick city, and rainbow place are our go tos

  • adding maple maze in maple grove and KUBE in plymouth. both fairly inexpensive.

  • My community center (New Brighton) has open gym time for little kids with a bounce house/scooters/foam blocks that my kids love. Plymouth community center has their big indoor soccer area set up the same way some times.

  • If 6 or under, tot time at the savage dome fits that criteria, but only 9-11:30 Tuesday/Thursday.

  • Brookview in Golden Valley and Edinburgh in Edina are both great!
