  • I dissected a frog in high school. I was looking forward to it prior. When the day came, I was actually repulsed.

Do students still do that? Why did my school system let me do that? It was a Texas school.

Dissecting cats was the Oklahoman way 😌 still hear the sounds of that kitty skull cracking from bone shears.

    Jesus Christ

We had cats as well. They came to us as embalmed bodies for our college level human anatomy course in high school. I guess they figured, "close enough".

Im sure they were ethically sourced from random suburbs lol alot of people say that they used to dissect pigs, but i never got to do that shit.

We did fetal pigs and the worst thing ever, pigeons. Nothing stunk as bad as those pigeons. We got complaints even with the doors shut

I would've jumped my teached before i dissect a kitty man what the hell

I dont even remember if we got docked a grade if we abstained

In a magnet school in Missouri, as part of a zoology class we dissected a dog in front of a 6th grade class

Well, glad that wasn’t only my school I guess.

I would argue it allows for 2 things. 1: it allows you hands on experience with the internals of a body.So that you can see with your own eyes and verify the different processes And organs that a creature has. 2: it exposes some of those kids that have never been around a dead creature or any kind of death to have a semi controlled experience. I believe at one time everyone experienced some form of first hand death as, a loved one or cared for family member dying in a bed upstair or in the kichen co or around their body, And that allowed them to deal with the death and the reality of death. In our modern world, a lot of us don't experience those kinds of things.Due to modern medicine and due to the fact that a lot of us die in a hospital bed nowhere near our family or home.

  • That frog looks like balls

My balls after getting sandwiched between a california rock and a javelin system

  • To address your question - things haven't really changed so much in the last 10 years as to make a significant difference as to how things would play out when you got out.

Much thanks for the sincere answer.

I remember the Army was rolling out new “improvements to systems to increase lethality” toward the end of my time. Most my buddies ended up going to MG or Drill schools so I don’t have that line-enlisted point of view alot.

  • Just so you know MOS is an army/marines term.

  • The purpose of troops is to follow legal orders. And hopefully do stuff that benefits the country. Even if a lot of people don't like it or see it as immoral.

Of course illegal orders should not be followed. But the military does not have a lot of leeway when it comes to not following orders that many consider to be immoral.

  • Fuuuuck oooooooffff.
