I feel like being educated is now considered a bad person in this part of the generation.
Yes I get it, the educating system can be corrupt I agree, but those with just broad understanding and general common sense are seen as "nerds" "dorks" "idiots" or snowflakes. For example calling someone out for immoral behaviour, hatred, crime, etc, you get called a crybaby and we must take it as a "joke". Not to mention the amount of violence caused by youth is rising with more and more news headlines reporting teens killing people, even their own family members. And no effort to perform academically.
When we say facts, we get ignored or humilated. It makes absolutely no sense.

Knowing what i see online, no, we need education to be free, mandatory, and widespread
That's what should happen. But general common sense knowledge, you get looked down upon
I don’t know why we so frequently try to attribute these problems to our own generation. Watch any 90s high school movie and this same stuff was talked about. It was even more prevalent back then most likely. It’s not a gen z specific thing, it’s just society. I’ve rarely ever seen anyone called an idiot for going to college. Nerd? Maybe, who gives a fuck. Nerds are a real thing, it’s not a bad thing to be one, but they do exist. I have friends that definitely meet the definition, I’m there too.
The education system is horrible (at least in the US), but I’ve never seen anyone made fun of for being too educated. I’ve seen people made fun of for being too educated and using that education to push down others by making themselves seem smarter in every possible scenario, but nobody is getting made fun of for having a college education.
I will say the attitude towards college from conservatives is annoying, but it definitely CAN be a scam if you pick the wrong major. The problem is, nobody tells you what the right major is, so you gotta do your own research. The amount of debt college lands you in is annoying, free education should be a right.
They actually are people who look down on people more educated, such as anti vaxxers, young Earth Creationists, flat earthers, and anti gun groups.
Personally, I just prefer to let natural selection take its course.
It may sound cold, but I'm blue collar and have hobbies that that involve loud power tools, heavy rocks, and sometimes guns, and if your entire argument against me warning you that "power tools (or anything else) + stupidity = loss of body parts or fluids" is "you can't tell me what to do!!!" I'm just going to let you find out for yourself.
I'm only 21, but I have my own scars and experience to back up what I say, while others don't know jack shit yet will still try to go against the most experienced person in the room.
At some point, you gotta just let them stick that fork in the socket and let them find out.
Because the common man sees you as someone just trying to belittle them from atop an ivory tower. Even if you aren't successful following college, they will probably still hold this view point towards you.
I think you are confusing crime and uncool.
One is a legal definition, other is public perception.
I don't have the mental energy to do a full debate on this topic but this is a case of correlation and causation being mixed up because while less education does have a correlation with these things it's not directly the cause.
Anti intellectualism is a real problem and it’s disgusting in my opinion.
Also Anti intellectualism is a fascist trait.
exactlyyyy and some ppl seem to think empathy is 'too woke' wtf
Could that be the source to why the rate of ASB and crime by teens are faster despite the general numbers falling? Rate as in shorter intervals
Also, they are hypocritically "woke" when discussing sexuality, aswell as reacting to someone with 1-2 year period gaps or with a different opinion.
