A band you’ve just recently put in your rotation or seen live for the first time. Mines is thousand below. Their new album buried in jade is so dang good. Haven’t seen them live yet but I’m planning to.
I only just gave Currents a listen because of this tour. (Going for Erra but gotta be prepared, you know?) I loved the latest album enough to blast through the rest of their discography over the weekend. So good
I was actively typing the exact same bands. Petrichor and A Fawn Flayed are some of the best songs released this year imo. Also, Arms Lengths “there’s a whole world out there” was my #1 played album this year. Not metalcore but it’s so good
Ditto. I was like "that's a name name not a band name" but then one day I was listening to Norma Jean and realized I should listen to Johnny Booth too.
I only just discovered LANDMVRKS from a best-of list I read about two weeks ago and haven't been able to turn them off since. Absolutely phenomenal band.
My other main genre is house/hardcore and I've been an EDM festival girlie my entire life. So "Whatever Alright" is basically designed in a lab to be my perfect song. That whole album has been on repeat forever, but that track especially is such a fun crossover.
I've been really into emoviolence which has great crossover with mathcore stuff. Run a search on that, and check out bands like The Jonbenet, Nuvolascura, Frail Hands, Lord Snow, Gillian Carter, New Forms, Senza
Texas and Florida are both pumping out crazy good bands rn. Also as someone in the North Carolina Scene I need to shout out eyez wide shut, fading signal and divine right.
Saw them live a few years ago and didn't pay all that much attention during their set. Cue this year and everyone hyping up the new album to godly levels and I had to check it out. Needless to say I was floored upon my first listen and have not put the album down since.
They give me that reaction that I find more rare these days where I ask myself "how the fuck did they make this so damn good".
KoG!!!! Found them last year when they opened for Dayseeker, and finally got to see them again with Moths a couple months ago. Absolutely killed it, love their sound. And Deadlands was another late ‘24 find, they played Aftershock and were a big highlight for me.
I've been obsessively listening to NOVELISTS for the past 6 months.
I was a big fan of Souvenirs, so I was naturally too scared to check out their stuff with Camille. But a month after they released CODA, I just stuck it on while I played truck sim one day and fell in love with it. It's now my 2nd most-listened album of the year behind Tsunami Sea.
This summer, I (re)discoverd Bleed From Within. By the time August 2026 comes around, I will have seen them live six times, in five different cities across three countries. 😅
New favorites Angelmaker, downswing, fox lake, heavensgate, thousand below, wind walkers and grayscale. A mix of a few different genres but all have been on rotation consistently.
Justice for the damned, I remember them from a paleface feature but after seeing them on the make them suffer tour in regional Australia, stay relentless has been in rotation every day
A Mourning Star, by far. They rule the whole revival and their debut sets a new standard as it echoes the legacy and passion of Undying. Their authenticity is unmatched.
Not metalcore, but Silly Goose have been on a steady repeat as of late. Hadn't heard of them prior to September, but their album is in my top 3 of 2025.
Totally agree — they are so fun. Just a little opener band playing 20-minute set at Aftershock in ‘24, and I was hooked. So fresh & fun. Love that more folks are getting to hear them.
Second Harbour and Pincer+ have been in my rotation nonstop since their new releases both came out on the same day. For the entire year my favourite new discovery is Ends In Tragedy.
Don broco, I think i heard some of thier songs yearssss ago and nothing clicked but all thier singles have fucking slapped, the nu metal sound is killer.
House of Protection. Have seen them live 3 times. They've always been brilliant but then I forgot about them. Actually sat down to listen to some at home and they're great.
Idc how many other have also been saying it but 156/silence, just absolutely killing it on another level. Finally saw them live last month and it was absolutely worth it
Elwood Stray and The Narrator. Both have killer first albums and have been dropping singles towards their next! Absolutely a breath of fresh air for Metalcore
Beat me to it. Vianova and Avralize absolutely. Only found them a couple months ago and been playing them constantly.
Lots of great bands others have mentioned (Unprocessed, Currents, Novelists, 156/Silence, LANDMVRKS, Thousand Below, etc) that I totally agree with, but I lucked out and found them last year. Actually wearing right now my Novelists t-shirt from their tour with ERRA early last year!
Wocket Launcher has been on heavy rotation. It's probably best classified as melodic deathcore, like As Blood Runs Black or The Crimson Armada, but it will probably appeal to people on this sub.
Not much in the way of mwtalcore, but this year ive discovered so many new things to me that have been around for a long time. Fallujah, Shadow of Intent, Kardashev.. most recently probably Horror of Pestilence, or Angelmaker
Night rider (made up of affiance and ice nine kills members) is probably the most recent band that I found randomly that’s been added to my weekly rotation
That new single ‘Retrograde’ from If Not For Me is really solid. I wouldn’t say they’re my favorite band by any means but glad I discovered them for sure.
Living Dead Girl. Seen them for the first time back in July. Immediately loved them. They just dropped a new album a couple weeks ago. Definitely a great listen 🎶 Conspiracy is the name.
for metalcore Boundaries and Chambers have been game changers for me in the rather stagnant metalcore scene. I put off Boundaries because I thought they would be another boring "djentcore" band but I was pleasently surprised when they performed on audiotree and it was like actual real metalcore not this djent slop masquerading as metalcore. For Chambers I had never heard of them until I was watching an album review and they were mentioned so I checked them out also super solid and the best part they also make real metalcore.
Love Thousand Below. Buried in Jade is so good. It's in my top 5 albums of the year.
With that said, the new Greyhaven album has me hooked on them.
Currents. Not sure how I haven't found them until now.
Gonna catch them on their upcoming tour with Erra, that’ll give them some well-deserved exposure
I only just gave Currents a listen because of this tour. (Going for Erra but gotta be prepared, you know?) I loved the latest album enough to blast through the rest of their discography over the weekend. So good
Not a huge fan of currents studio stuff but they are AMAZING live
Don't you love when that happens?
I’m the same. I have no idea how it took me so long.
Same here. I've only listened to their latest EP, but I'm absolutely blown away. Can't wait for their tour with Erra next year!
not metalcore but i just discovered Shadow of Intent like 2-3 weeks ago and it's been at least 50% of what i listen to since then
My favorite deathcore act right now. They haven’t missed.
Speaking of deathcore, my recent discovery was Psycho Frame. I’m so angry the community didn’t tell me about them sooner
Reclaimer remains my favorite deathcore album of all time. They're also unbelievable live!
melancholy is a really good song
Always a solid staple!
A lot of 156/Silence lately. And Psycho-Frame, although they’re more considered deathcore
Same, just discovered 156/Silence and really enjoying them as of late.
Awesome bands. Saw Psycho Frame in August with Boundaries and they were top tier
156 is spectacular!
psycho frame is 🔥
can't beat dual vocalist deathcore bands
Greyhaven and Heavensgate
Yup. Finally figured out greyhaven with thier latest album and went back through the whole catalog.
Thanks for the recommend on heavensgate!
That recent Heavensgate EP is fantastic. One of my personal faves this year
Mmh greyhaven is good. I’ll have to check out heavensgate rn.
I was actively typing the exact same bands. Petrichor and A Fawn Flayed are some of the best songs released this year imo. Also, Arms Lengths “there’s a whole world out there” was my #1 played album this year. Not metalcore but it’s so good
I really, really like Heavensgate right now.
Somebody else just mentioned them. Checking them out rn.
Ooh they kinda remind me of boundaries a bit. Like it.
Unprocessed. They fuck so hard
Hell ya. Found them a couple weeks ago running thru all the Nik Nocturnal AOTY noms and I literally stopped at Angel because I have it on repeat.
Johnny Booth
Like I knew about them but kept looking at other new music based purely on the name. HOLY SHIT. I have rarely been so wrong.
Ditto. I was like "that's a name name not a band name" but then one day I was listening to Norma Jean and realized I should listen to Johnny Booth too.
lmao no fr this was me too! I kept getting recommended them off Norma Jean and Greyhaven and okay FINE ALGORITHM YOU WIN I WILL CHECK THEM OUT.
I think I've listened to Moments Elsewhere everyday for like 3 months now.
haha, saaame...
This was me last year! Full Tilt was the first song by them I listened to and was blown away
I only just discovered LANDMVRKS from a best-of list I read about two weeks ago and haven't been able to turn them off since. Absolutely phenomenal band.
Wait to see them live, they are 🔥
I'm hoping hard they tour near me soon!
i’ve been listening to Pincer+ an Vianova a lot
Omg the lyrics of mas rapido lol they hit home
A lot of their new album is very nihilistic like that. Some of the best lyrics of the year imo
Vianova’s latest album has been on repeat for months now. So f’ing good.
Maybe more post-hardcore than metalcore, but I just discovered AVRALIZE this morning and boy do they rip.
Never heard either of them. I’ll check em out rn.
My other main genre is house/hardcore and I've been an EDM festival girlie my entire life. So "Whatever Alright" is basically designed in a lab to be my perfect song. That whole album has been on repeat forever, but that track especially is such a fun crossover.
Northlane and Greyhaven have basically taken over my spotify recently
Downswing has been stuck in my head for weeks
That new album is good! I saw them a few weeks ago with GAG, wristmeetsrazor and Saltwound. Everyone was a lot of fun live.
Downswing sounds like what I wish current Wage War sounded like
They are goated, one of the best and most consistent bands out there. Love the mix/production on the new release
Rolo Tomassi. Need I say more as a huge prog metal and metalcore/mathcore fan.
I've been really into emoviolence which has great crossover with mathcore stuff. Run a search on that, and check out bands like The Jonbenet, Nuvolascura, Frail Hands, Lord Snow, Gillian Carter, New Forms, Senza
I Promised The World
I promised the world
Last two singles are soooo good!
Your Spirit Dies
Same. Their album is top 5 2025 for me. Easily. The riffs are outstanding.
In terms of “new” I really got into Thornhill around mid October and they’ve managed to sneak their way to No. 3 in my Wrapped band list.
Bloom
Sleep Theory or Avoid
Avoid put on great shows
Found them a month ago. Cult mentality is on constant rotation
Avoid kicks ass
Saw them 3x now, so much fun every time
Sleep theory is really good. I’ll have to look up avoid.
Loved their last album but not so much the recent ep
Amira Elfeky!
She was so good live!
so excited for her w BMTH in May!!!
Dreamwake for sure.
I was going to say this along Heavensgate.
My people! I’m going to have to check Heavengate out since a few people mentioned them.
Dreamwake needs way more love here. In my top 5 mast two years
Away with Words or Withpaperwings
sick picks, central and south florida both have some fucking incredible bands right now. memento and concealer are both great too
Texas and Florida are both pumping out crazy good bands rn. Also as someone in the North Carolina Scene I need to shout out eyez wide shut, fading signal and divine right.
Greyhaven is definitely the one for me.
Cemetery Sun gave me goosebumps.
I have so many but on my recents Currents, Make Them Suffer, Kingdom of Giants, Deadlands
KoG!!!! Found them last year when they opened for Dayseeker, and finally got to see them again with Moths a couple months ago. Absolutely killed it, love their sound. And Deadlands was another late ‘24 find, they played Aftershock and were a big highlight for me.
Just started listening to Kingdom of Giants last week. They jam
Downswing. Can’t stop listening to their newest album
HEAVENSGATE and Fallweather
Fromjoy and fallingwithscissors
And then deathcore but signs of the swarm fucking rip
This summer, I (re)discoverd Bleed From Within. By the time August 2026 comes around, I will have seen them live six times, in five different cities across three countries. 😅
Prospective, their track alone is just perfect
I dig closer. It’s got good juxtaposition. The synth is cool too. Gives it some flair.
Wiltwither
wiltwither - obsolete
So good live.
More deathcore side of things but I've liked Synestia a lot
That split they did with Disembodied Tyrant. Mmmm MM
Spiritbox. They can do everything: soft, beautiful, heavy and all of that together
Midwinter. Ive been spinning their new EP non stop
Totally, just found out about them a month ago. And super psyched that they’re touring with Unprocessed and ALLT in the spring.
Yep!! I’ll be there when they come to Mass
fromjoy, idk why i havent checked these guys out before now
Mortal Reminder
Bite Down on repeat on the gym
Listening to deadweight rn. God this would be fun to mosh to…
Distinguisher (even though they stopped being a band), Gloom49, fromjoy, pulse, Poltergeist
All sick
Dude, LOVE Thousand Below. Their debut was immaculate imo
New favorites Angelmaker, downswing, fox lake, heavensgate, thousand below, wind walkers and grayscale. A mix of a few different genres but all have been on rotation consistently.
Downswing. New album fucks.
Not metalcore but The Black Dahlia Murder, As Blood Runs Black and Job For a Cowboy. Never cared much for deathcore but these band are great.
Justice for the damned, I remember them from a paleface feature but after seeing them on the make them suffer tour in regional Australia, stay relentless has been in rotation every day
Vionova has some great tracks
Vianova. My god their album is amazing
A Mourning Star, by far. They rule the whole revival and their debut sets a new standard as it echoes the legacy and passion of Undying. Their authenticity is unmatched.
same!! I was their top 11th listener on wrapped lmao
Everything they've put out is top tier metalcore!
Faced Out. If anyone digs Contention or 'edge metal' in general, this should be up their alley.
Not metalcore but the new Snooze album is a mathy, proggy, masterpiece.
As Everything Unfolds
Absolutely obsessed with Orthodox since I saw them with Dying Wish. A Door Left Open has been on constant repeat
I found Fox Lake this year! I love that new album of theirs. Loooove their modern nu-metal sound.
Greyhaven, 156/Silence, Bloom
Second Harbour and Pincer+ have been in my rotation nonstop since their new releases both came out on the same day. For the entire year my favourite new discovery is Ends In Tragedy.
Annisokay, Guilt Trip, Landmvrks, Sable Hills and thrown
Pintglass
Heavensgate, Arms Length and Second Harbour. Cannot get enough of all three of those bands
Yea that Thousand Below record is great, it's their first record that really resonated with me, i didn't care for the previous stuff.
The new band this year for me was Vianova, superb record with a lot of origionality and it's own unique sound which we don't see too often.
Whitechapel
Darkmatter. Bladerunner is a banger!
Avralize and Our Promise. Super cool stuff!
Don broco, I think i heard some of thier songs yearssss ago and nothing clicked but all thier singles have fucking slapped, the nu metal sound is killer.
Capstan
Still a FFAK lover boy 😍
Her Last Sight has been dope this past week
House of Protection. Have seen them live 3 times. They've always been brilliant but then I forgot about them. Actually sat down to listen to some at home and they're great.
Man I’m jealous, I discovered them this year and have yet to see them live. Love how varied their sound is.
Just saw them last week with architects and President. Great show. They've got an amazing energetic live show.
Probably thornhill, psycho frame, split chain, bloom and paleskin
Heavensgate. Obsessed with the recent EP
Architectects ❤️🔥
Not Enough Space! They're freaking awesome.
Idc how many other have also been saying it but 156/silence, just absolutely killing it on another level. Finally saw them live last month and it was absolutely worth it
The Narrator from Germany.
Pupil slicer
Catsclaw and Midwinter have been my favorite discoveries this year. Thall for days.
Annisokay
Elwood Stray and The Narrator. Both have killer first albums and have been dropping singles towards their next! Absolutely a breath of fresh air for Metalcore
Elwood stray has been peppering my playlists recently.
Also Downswing just goes hard
Architects! Making my way through the discography and up next is holy hell🤩
Electric callboy.
Misery Signals....I just discovered them and their Malice/Controller albums are literally better than every metalcore album that was released in 2025.
I'm gonna have to check their socials to see if they are touring near me next year. Need to see this band live.
VIANOVA
DREAMWAKE
AVRALIZE
Catchy catchy catchy. Hooks hooks hooks.
Actually wearing right now my Novelists t-shirt from their tour with ERRA early last year!
fervence with the new singer. seen em live twice and its always such a fun show
Super solid album from 2024.... second shadow by a band called Inertia. Keep finding myself listening to that album.
Steaksauce Mustache
A very fun mathcore band
Metalcore - Convictions
Death Core - Diamonds to Dust
Just discovered both this year and they've made it to my top 40 lifetime artists already
Before I Turn has turned into my most listened to band in just like 2 weeks. First time I heard them I was absolutely glued lol
It’s not exactly Metalcore but Hardcore with metallic guitars - I can’t stop listening to the new Drain record.
The Amity Affliction. Saw them live and can't believe I have never come across them before.
I have recently discovered Forlorn and I fell in love with them.
Not metalcore but Die Spitz. A super talented young group, and their live show was absolutely bonkers. Most fun I've had at a show in quite a while.
Wocket Launcher has been on heavy rotation. It's probably best classified as melodic deathcore, like As Blood Runs Black or The Crimson Armada, but it will probably appeal to people on this sub.
Monosphere in the more metalcore realm. Just discovered Arcane Roots and love the album Melancholia Hymns. Not sure what genre but it fucks.
Not much in the way of mwtalcore, but this year ive discovered so many new things to me that have been around for a long time. Fallujah, Shadow of Intent, Kardashev.. most recently probably Horror of Pestilence, or Angelmaker
Not sure if it’s metalcore but Abbi Falls for me
Two I’ve had on rotation recently is Abbie falls new album and Allt. I’m hoping Allt have some new stuff coming soon, they are so good!
Adept
Started listening to them this year and love the new album.
Johnny booth 🔥
Calva Louise. Freshest band I've heard in a very very long while, and phenomenal live :)
I've got Missing Link on repeat currently... heavier hardcore more than metalcore but really enjoying their last couple of releases.
Also, was already a fan of God Complex but their latest EP is on constant rotation for me right now
Thus spoke zarathustra, heriot, abbie falls, and so it begins
Greyhaven and Catharsis
Catharsis is a band that just put out their first album since 1999 and it’s fantastic
I Promised the World. A shining beacon of a return to form for Metalcore
Atlas; You Win Again Gravity, Snooze, Black Crown Initiate; and Giant’s Knife.
It isn’t all metalcore but it’s all too good not to share.
Night rider (made up of affiance and ice nine kills members) is probably the most recent band that I found randomly that’s been added to my weekly rotation
Saw them the other week in the Uk with ocean sleeper and adept. They were very good!
not metalcore per se, but I've had Whitechapel on heavy rotation the past couple of weeks
Just discovered Abbie Falls. The most recent album is so good.
Chat Pile
gave Converge a chance about 3 months ago and have been absolutely obsessed. I don't think I've ever been so in love with a band until now
That new single ‘Retrograde’ from If Not For Me is really solid. I wouldn’t say they’re my favorite band by any means but glad I discovered them for sure.
Just found "Above,Below" super cool wish I found them earlier. I can't wait to listen to their new album.
Every time i die. Miss them
Without a face
Mine changes yearly pretty much. Lately it's been a tossup between Avralize and Vianova. The German scene is doing some really fresh fun stuff.
ELWOOD STRAY !
Catsclaw. Incredible new album.
Living Dead Girl. Seen them for the first time back in July. Immediately loved them. They just dropped a new album a couple weeks ago. Definitely a great listen 🎶 Conspiracy is the name.
Bloom Dream
Signs of the Swarm, Carcosa, Disembodied Tyrant, Shadow of Intent
Vianova
I've always loved old Hundredth but for whatever reason I really love new Hundredth.
Somebody posted an Abbie Falls song on here a few weeks ago and I've been obsessed ever since.
Greyhaven, really hope they come to Aus for a tour soon because they’re awesome.
Differences, out of Cali. Love the vibe. Love their message.
Ocean grove
Silent planet
Johnny booth
Abbie Falls has had a lot of my attention recently
Dreamwake has been playing non-stop for me since I discovered them at the end of last year.
for metalcore Boundaries and Chambers have been game changers for me in the rather stagnant metalcore scene. I put off Boundaries because I thought they would be another boring "djentcore" band but I was pleasently surprised when they performed on audiotree and it was like actual real metalcore not this djent slop masquerading as metalcore.
