What are your biggest wishes for albums this year? Arbitrarily, let's say for active bands who haven't released a full length in at least five years.
Burial Invocation, Warp Chamber, and Lantern come to mind for me.
Old Man's Child
I'm pretty sure he has mentioned recording in the recent past, figure something will come out this year.
Gorguts
Definitely Undergang and Weregoat for me.
Had to think a little harder to meet the five year rule, but I'd say Cultes des Ghoules, Outre Tombe, Aura Noir and Paladin too.
Outside of five years, the ones who I would be most excited for and seems about time for one would be Taake, Nocturnal Departure and Unleash the Archers. Malokarpatan would definitely be amongst those too, but looks like that's already in the works.
Virvum please
I feel like I've said this at the start of every year since Chris Caffery put out that video, but I've got my fingers crossed for new Savatage. The video in question:
As someone already said, would LOVE some new Devourment, given that they appear to be working on stuff.
Does Anthrax count? I know they’ve officially finished recording but I’m pretty sure they’ve been saying it’s “about to” release for years so I won’t believe it until I see a release date.
Also probably outside of this sub’s general taste but Maximum the Hormone is one of my favorite bands OAT and haven’t put out a full length for going on 13 years. Given that they are still fairly active and release the occasional single (good ones, too) I want to hope that they still have the ability to put out a proper album soon.
Chaos Moon. Old Man's Child, Gorgoroth studio album (we're getting a live album so I'm not holding my breath), Leviathan, Nightbringer (again not gonna hold my breath), Ethereal Shroud, Sinistral King, Necronomicon, Summoning, Caladan Brood,....the list goes on.
Just gonna go sit in the corner and huff some copium...
Easily Skeletonwitch. Their last album was controversial but it's one of my favorites of all time, so I hope they release more like it
Atheist. Kelly said they were working on new material in 2019. I can understand why he doesn't want to put out something that could tarnish the band's legacy, but I'd really like to hear new material from them.
Antaeus and Mortem
Coincidentally, both of them released their latest LP in 2016
