Yeah, it's put there for metro staff who are going to/from the stabling yards via the private pedestrian bridge in the back corner of the station. But the reader is otherwise publicly usable. It's certainly an oddball.

I'm aware this sounds insane, but since the new readers went in at my station like a month ago I've been through 5 plastic mykis. They get a little bump on the plastic and stop working. Someone suggested it could be my phone frying them somehow (they have all been stored in my phone card pocket) but weird that it never happened before and now I'm on my 5th card.Ā
