That is the face of "I have permission to mod this and go deeper into debt" š. Enjoy the hell out of it. When I first did a custom board, honestly the feeling was crazy using it. Much better feeling, sound and just design and look with the setup.
Agreed. 65 is the lowest I would go after trying many. Got a Wooting 80HE and a Holy 60 build from KBDFans, its modded but not really used. I have a KBDFans Mk iii, but that is going to my mom for her first custom board.
I just can't pass up the F row anymore. I think 60 can be okay but in 64 key with the dedicated arrows. But it is rough for alot of things.
I only put one foam which was the plate foam so itās mostly clacky. Not as clacky as Iād like but he wanted it not too loud. Like a solid 6/10 in terms of loudness
I mean if your friend wants a 60 percent keyboard he probably knows how to tape mod it and add foam to his taste so it doesn't really matter about the stock sound.

I have a 40 but it's annoying for anything other than extended travel. And if the trip is long enough, the 60/65 is a better choice.

The Neo 65 Core Plus is an awesome keyboard. Very clean looking. Keycaps really complement the case.
