We've noticed an uptick in spam in the past few months that have necessitated a couple rule changes. As always please refer to the rules before posting, but I've detailed changes below.
Media Posts
Due to a heavy increase of bot posts, we are no longer allowing media only posts. We ask contributers to provide context to your media posts with relevant information. Why are you posting the content? Do you find it cool, did you get a great shot of your board, or maybe you just want to show off your work. As a reminder there are two image based flairs, Builds and Photos. Builds do require information regarding the keyboard, the minimum being the components you used. Preferably we'd like some context around the build as well, why did you pick those components, is there anything you'd change looking back. More context leads to better discussion. We do prefer Builds posts over Photos posts because they tend to lead to more discussion.
Typing Apps and Extensions
We've made the decision to no longer allow the promotion of typing applications, games, and extensions. We've seen an uptick in the number of promotion posts for these types of related services. We've found that many times, these types of applications or extensions collect user data. In an age where digital privacy is incredibly important, we don't feel comfortable allowing their promotion at this time. We'd like to remind users to be aware of what permissions extensions and applications have to your data, be informed about what they are collecting and how they are using it.
We have also noticed that many brands are offering free products in exchange for reviews. While we never want to outright silence reviews, we are looking into how this type of content is handled. We've seen an increase in lower effort reviews that serve solely as an avenue to receive free product and advertise for a brand outside the promotional rules limits. We also want to ensure that reviewers that take the time to educate potential buyers on positive and negative aspects of products aren't being punished for receiving products in exchange for their hard work. It's a fine line and it's not always clear where that line should be drawn, but know that it's something that the moderation team is looking at.

Good thing for me to keep in mind. When I get into the motions of content creation, sometimes I don't realize how "ad-like" my videos sound until someone else points out/critiques my video, so this is a welcome change.
Of course, it's not someone else's job to remind me of this, but I do appreciate receiving feedback from the community
Looking at your post history, you just have a title and video. For example:
Per rule 6, you should be adding a disclaimer to your post (not just in the video) whether you received the item in exchange for a review.

Good idea, but just wondered what will happen if I post a promotional post like this one? Technically that's a media only post. I usually post up an album of images, then post a reply to the OP giving more details. Usually if I put the info in the same post as the images, the post does not show the image in the main feed, just a link, and you have to actually open it to see the images. This obviously doesn't have thee same visual impact. Would a post like the way I used to do it be removed?

This is a great question, and we can adjust automod to help based on flair tagging. In my gut reaction, we'd allow it so long as there is a top level comment that provides that information in the case of an advertisement.

I believe I've got the automod to filter based on flair usage now, so you shouldn't run into any problems when doing promotional posts.

I see the need for this, but I also don't know how one would go about this. Maybe with a user limit, i.e. only 1 per month, but that would punish people who do this full-time a lot more than prevent low-effort spam by multiple accounts.
case by case basis maybe? Or if 2 accounts post the same video review then one gets taken down
Yeah, it will probably be have to be something like that. I doubt you could come up with a clear rule or definition of low-effort reviews. Personally I just try to avoid rules based on 'case by case' decisions whenever possible.
