Found this gem while scrolling marketplace and thought of this sub. Unfortunately that was all the photos. Eifel 65-Blue plays softly in the background
[start of the movie] "it is clear, Mr Gehry, that we can expect bold things from you. After all,he-who-must-not-be-allowed-to-commit-architecturedid bold things.Terrible, but bold!
[end of the movie] "you were supposed to destroy bad architecture, not expand it!"
Lol, this wasn't even a house somebody designed for themselves to live in that they're now moving on from?!? It was built in 2023 and has never been sold, so... the builder made these choices?!?!? Holy shit. No wonder they've had to reduce the price by a million dollars and still haven't found a buyer.
Not sure which is worse, the slightly-too-green-to-gel-with-the-floors paint throughout, or the did-they-forget-to-remove-the-painters-tape-? color on all the trim.
I work 8 minutes away from this house and now that I have seen this post, I'm mad its gated so I cant get a closer look at it..but I'm sure gonna try🤣🤣 Alvin is small and country so this is an interesting home to build there.
My house is worth one-half that house. If I could find another family willing, we could buy this house and have two families in there and spend time repainting and redoing the interior. Perhaps even replace those small circular and square windows in the process. It would be costly but then we would have a cool shared home. Got to think about this. Hmmm.
It’s the Smurf palace! NGL, I love a blue house. But that blue marble-y floor is too much (shower walls, maybe countertops or backsplash), too shiny and slick, and too death trap-y for my uncoordinated ass.
I feel like this is something I would want to do but then would come to my senses. I kind of love it. Except the floors are way too shiny and I am breaking an ankle looking at it.
I pointed this out last time I saw the house but I'm sure the interior design is AI-generated. Someone said "modern classic," and they got frame posters of Michelangelo's "David."
I rescpec the blue theme throughout. This isn't a McMansion though. It may not be do a general taste, but it looks designed by an architect and that blue marble is offputing but I doubt it's cheap
For a $2 million dollar house I hope it’s real marble, but all I can think of looking at those pictures is Floor and Decor sells slabs that look identical (but obviously porcelain).
Technically, this is an actual mansion. More of a r/zillowgonewild. I actually love the floors. Such beautiful pieces of rock. That said, the walls ruin it. This is actually the one time I might go for pale Grey walls. And real wood trim rather than that ugly blue paint. Okay, the blue is not technically ugly. It would make a nice blouse or dress. Just not trim.
I looked at the listing the OP posted and I don't think there are owners. It was built in 2023/2024 and immediately listed... no owners other than the builder.
As a RE Photographer, these window pulls are horrific. I mean they don't look realistic in the slightest. Also that one shot where the overhead light is off is bugging me.
The house is beyond tacky. The drone shot of the hideous yard, like what the fuck is that ugly tent doing back there? Like surely, y'all have money, get rid of that shit
There are no words to properly describe this place. But given how much they clearly spent to build this, I can't believe they didn't go for a built in counter depth fridge.
I heard Houston has the highest population of Vietnamese outside Vietnam and Westminster, California.
Wonder how they make their money although it looks more expensive than it actually is. Does the electric grid go out in the middle of winter? Where’s the generator?
That room that has the blue trim looks like they forgot to take the painters tape down. 🤦♀️ I am not a fan of gold anything really, so all of the gold on the staircase and wherever else would go..
This house has to have been the influence for Eiffel 65. They wrote the story about a little guy who lived in a blue world with a blue house inside and out with a little blue window...
Take off the painters tape I dont mind the kitchen so much. It is also because it has the highest percentage of non blue fixtures.
If the kitchen was more neutral but you had thst backsplash it would be a centerpiece and beautiful.
This sub is weird. This house is gorgeous. Idk when color started being conflated with “tacky”, but I’m sick of pretending that white and brown everywhere looks good
This is what a house should look like… when you’re 4-5 years old.
I mean... +1 point for commitment to the theme. -30 points for crimes against taste. -30 points for crimes against architecture.
-30 points for lifestyle
Yeah, at least they made some bold decisions!
….terrible decisions. But bold!
i feel like you would have that thing where the cones in your eye for blue would become exhausted so everything look orange when you leave the house
Very Knights of Arabia as interpreted by Texans.
Indecipherable shower
Not if you have 30 dirty friends and you are all for work.
For your viewing pleasure — I found the realtor.com listing.

This blue me away.

If you get inside, be sure to wear shoes that are 1000% non-slip. Or roller skates.
Choices were made. Realtors don’t understand that sometimes fewer pictures is better for drumming up interest than many pictures.
Jesus, 10.5k sq ft. The excess! But I guess how can you mimic bringing the sea inside unless the blue flooring is exceedingly vast.
The dark blue molding looks like the neglected to take off the painters tape when they were done.
I asked Gemini Nano Banana to repaint it like an Italian villa. Those windows are tough.

Is Texas where tacky gets mined?
There is a post on this property from nov14 on the blog.
This is at least the 4th time I’ve seen this house.
It seems purpose built as rage bate for this sub in particular.
I hate to see all that beautiful stone go to such a tacky use.
Bulgarian oligarch vibes!
The exterior of the home greatly appeals to my Eastern European ethnicity.
If Trump liked blue, this is the house he would build.
Dear God, please forgive me for being so unworthy that I was forced to see this monstrosity - especially the inside!
It’s the Smurf palace! NGL, I love a blue house. But that blue marble-y floor is too much (shower walls, maybe countertops or backsplash), too shiny and slick, and too death trap-y for my uncoordinated ass.
I kind of love that shower though.
Same. It fits for a bathroom. The rest of the house though 😬
Nothing to absorb sound except sparse furniture. Ugh.
The beds along the wall by the food all table, ugh. What a dump.
I like the color outside and the windows.
Do people just not have ears anymore?
ECHO ECHO ECHO ECHO
I thought this was one of Saddam Hussein’s lost palaces. 🤮
It’s Melanias vacation home since she’s so depressed
This is a house Trump would build if he liked blue.
Truly one of the most awful McMansions I've seen posted.
S.S. Poop Deck
"Oh well we'll just list the house on FB Marketplace. Seems legit."
I don’t want to live there but a week vacation with friends making fun of it with me and sliding around in socks would be great.
My god. How did any adult live in this and felt comfortable?
There has to be a mirror covered bathroom in this house
It has a "I love Cruises so I want my house themed like one" vibe
It’s a bit understated
2nd picture gave me an aneurysm.
Send help
Comes with 1 tree 🤣
Wow how much does a bull dozer go for in Huston
You know its hard times when even King Louis the XIV sells his other summer palace.
I feel like this is something I would want to do but then would come to my senses. I kind of love it. Except the floors are way too shiny and I am breaking an ankle looking at it.
I kinda like the staircases.
I am a clumsy person. All I saw were places to sustain a concussion.
Just one big slip and fall waiting to happen
I pointed this out last time I saw the house but I'm sure the interior design is AI-generated. Someone said "modern classic," and they got frame posters of Michelangelo's "David."

Guys what do you think their favorite color is
zomg
Tell me you were poor without telling me you were poor.
It’s giving third world poor. Like I woke up on dirt floors and now I made it!
Absolutely hideous
This glossy blue marble look tile is available at Floor and Decor and I always wondered what it looked like installed. Woah
I think it’s supposed to be an accent piece.
Jesus Christ on a cracker.
Are you sure it isn’t a Trump class battleship?
As someone who has been accused of owning too much blue, I can confirm- this is too much.
I was wondering where the red trolley was to take us to the land of make believe!
This was on this sub before and it was just as ugly back then. Blue submarine.
I wonder what the owners favorite color is? 🤔
It would be fun as hell to slide around on all those slick floors.
Was thinking my clumsy ass would have multiple concussions
2,874,000 reasons not to buy it. Or even look at it.
When you get a great deal on enough "oops paint" and it sets you off a journey of other discounted blue items and house decorates itself.
I threw up in my mouth a little when I saw the stairs.
This has been posted here before. One of the most bizarre things I’ve seen. I want to meet the people who own this, because they must be characters.
I looked at the listing the OP posted and I don't think there are owners. It was built in 2023/2024 and immediately listed... no owners other than the builder.
Those brown garage doors don't match the house somehow....need some blue or sumptin..
Got money but ain’t got taste
Funny place for a lighthouse.
The tile is sooooo pretty. Why did they have to do this to it😭
i'm color blind and I can tell this is awful
Mr Nimbus?
My eyes!
What some people think classy looks like
That bedroom though...off the charts!
Sims-ass lookin house

all that navy blue trim looks like leftover painters tape, this could be so much better with different wall colors that aren't fucking BLUE.
started at $4mil in '24 and now at $2.8mil.
I bet the home owner runs a tile business. No one buys such tiles so they likely got them at wholesale
F that house 🤣🤣🤣

Keep Austin Weird. Keep Houston Ugly.
Damn, this is a whole new level of hideous
As much as I like blue, this is just aggressively BLUE.
So you're saying this isn't A.I.? That's the most disturbing part.
I don't even care about the gaudy decor but what's up with that 9 blade fan wtf
Craptacular!
I cannot conceive of this as an actual house that someone actually designed and had built. The mind revolts!
Designed by the cake boss? What is this?
An unambiguous data point reinforcing my general belief that I would be delighted never to have to set foot in Houston again.
I like the exterior do not like the interior.
Looks like a Wes Anderson movie.
Maybe the family owned a quarry and wanted to take advantage of that deal lol
That is a lot of blue!
Looks like a 1980's town centre nightclub. How awful.
Its bluetiful.
That room that has the blue trim looks like they forgot to take the painters tape down. 🤦♀️ I am not a fan of gold anything really, so all of the gold on the staircase and wherever else would go..
I always thought it’d be nice to have a fan in the kitchen..but not like that…
Liberace or Elton John would love it.
Blue marble exists?
What a god forsaken abomination
Well, they do say everything is tackier in Texas... 😖
This house has to have been the influence for Eiffel 65. They wrote the story about a little guy who lived in a blue world with a blue house inside and out with a little blue window...

Who builds a turd like this and thinks they can ever sell it?

Some fool will buy it.
This sub is weird. This house is gorgeous. Idk when color started being conflated with “tacky”, but I’m sick of pretending that white and brown everywhere looks good
Fuck you I love it
Have you shown it to donald? He would buy it in a heartbeat
