The eye goes to the gray area in the middle...all the terrible lines point to it... and the front door, entry is off to the right in an alcove. This hurts to look at.
Needs more segmented garage doors on the front for the xanaxâd housewife or 12-beers deep after golf husband to scrape their leased c-class Mercedes across as they stumble back home
Also those vents that don't match the patterned paint stand out like sore thumbs. They should have been painted dark at least to give the illusion of windows or something.
I was cruising Toll Brothers for a minute (basically torture porn.) To me the plans have actually gotten better: fewer wasted angles, rooms you can actually furnish... but MY GOD are the elevations worse than ever. It's as if each house is a townhouse block, or two regular-sized houses halfway through mitosis.
I don't understand the point. It's not about efficiency, so it must be some piece of data that says "make house look complicated = $$$$$."
That's interesting - Toll Brothers in my area exclusively do relatively small (1700-2200sqft) houses that are pretty simple and inoffensive from the outside, but then have gargantuan doors and ceilings on the inside. Doors are like 9ft tall and ceilings are 10ft with a cathedral going higher in the living room.
It's so bizarre being in the front bedroom/office which is taller than it is wide.
They do larger houses here, maybe 3100-4500sq ft. I went with my son and DIL who were looking. Interiors were fantastic but the exterior of one had NINE separate finishes.
Why would you want all windows in a subdivision on 1/8 acre lots where you can pass sugar through your window to your neighbor because you can't stand the thought of touching grass?
I'm the one in the family subscribed to this sub, my wife has other interests. This picture was on my monitor as she walked by, I've never seen her have such an immediate, visceral reaction as she did to it.
"That is so hideous! What were they thinking?" Then she pointed out everything she hated about it (pretty much everything). While I don't like it either, I don't have the same visceral reaction, I just think it looks stupid.
Yes. And the one special garage that has stone wrapped around the door versus the other two sad plain garage doors. So, I'm thinking the king gets the stone wrapped garage door. The wife and ex wife get the others.
Theyâll use the garage for storage. The cars will be out front in the driveway. Think of the garage facade as a picture frame for their monster trucks.
It's somewhat near 150 a square foot which is getting reasonable. But could drop near 600 k then it will sell. The problem is everybody wants to retire on one sale.
And some are.

Honestly I thought the gray area was the entry and then I looked some more and đ±
Same here. Maybe itâs a decoy door to throw off would be home invaders. /s
Itâs so horrible

are you still mad about that after all these years?
The near random 'brick stamping' looks like my browser didn't finish loading yet....

It's almost like looking at a dining room table and they wedged in a leaf in the middle that didn't belong to make it wider. So weird.
OH NO!! I didnât see the door correctly đ
First thing I noticed and it made me cringe so hard.
The gray is just shadow. This place looks better from other angles.
Like with your eyes closed at night.
I realize that. No, it doesnât. Because you still have the front of the house right there every time you come home

But why?? did they get a sample pack of finishes they had to use up or something? That's nuts.
Usually the exterior finishes are a choice from the buyer.
How does someone build a new home with barely any windows?! I want ALL the windows and this is not giving that.
Why would you want all windows in a subdivision on 1/8 acre lots where you can pass sugar through your window to your neighbor because you can't stand the thought of touching grass?
Energy efficiency⊠and less problems with window warranties
There are a ton of windows on the back and sides of this house.
That's McFugly.
Awful. Just plain awful...

Smart wife!!
So pointy...
Honestly...Why so pointy?
Because Modern Tudor requires points. Duh.

I do not understand the design decision of emphasizing the garage more than the front door. I bet this is really shitty feng shui.

That is one of the most hideous houses I've ever seen! Usually I can find something to like, but this one... no.
Take a look at this home in Mansfield I found
â2100 Rockhopper Ct, Mansfield, TX 76063

Oh well thereâs the problem.
Texas gonna Texas
778k for a house with 3800 square feet and a 3 car garage? Damn shit is cheap in Texas lol
Texas here. I actually thought that $778k price tag is outrageous. I dont know that area well but in my area thatâd be a $500k at best.
on a 2025 build?
Right. Pre-covid pricing isn't coming back.
A cheap luxury house is like a cheap luxury car or a cheap yacht. The most expensive thing you'll ever own.
I can hear that floorplan through my phone. There will be no escaping the booming echo chamber at the heart of this house.
I'm sure the homebuyer will enjoy the 50 foot walk down a hallway, past the stairs, and through the family room to unload their groceries.
Builder grade tile covers the floors.
And doesnât even come with a refrigerator lol
At first glance it was either Texas or Utah. Texas totally tracks.
This would be a typical home in the area of southwest Austin, TX where we lived for 10 years.
Itâs the appliquĂ© âstoneworkâ for me đ€ź
It feels like the Cars own the house
Some people should just not design houses at allđ
3 garage doors.
4 walls separating said garage doors.
1 carriage light.
wut?
Yes and one with stone surround. So elegante
It's somewhat near 150 a square foot which is getting reasonable. But could drop near 600 k then it will sell. The problem is everybody wants to retire on one sale. And some are.
That random bedroom off the entryway would be an office. Whoâs sleeping next to the front door?
Butler? Least favorite child?
I looked at that and a kitten died.
McRoofing hell. McGarage hell.
Builder still doing ok
Letâs put just one window rightâŠHERE! (Chefâs Kiss)
I feel like we need a new sub. DesignerGaveUp or like MurderedByClient đ
So - white.
What were they thinking with the ugly stone deconstructed detail.
$10k off for each steeple?
So far...
I was going to say Texas and thenâŠ.
This is just a Mc without the Mansion.
The high water mark⊠went higherâŠ
Are most American homes made from paper?
You get a roofline! and you get a roofline! Every garage door gets its own roofline!
That house is nice. People here just mad they can't afford a house. Like a circklejerk in here lol
The garage is bigger than the house.
Es Garages. Please.
it's fugly
What the hell is this?
They forgot a garage door.
No. Rockhopper Court? Just around the corner from Clodhopper Way?
Magnatile
Weird but acceptable. Address, please.Â
There's a link to listing in comments.
50% Car HauĂ from the front view.
I love it!
It's available!
Is it bad this is my dream house ...anything minimalistic I love
Needs more pointy roofs.
It's just butt ugly
3 car garageâŠmuricaâ
Not the best house design but I wouldn't call this a McMansion
