I’m surprised some people don’t know about the photo given how seemingly inescapable it was around mid-late 2010s when it was constantly included in those top 10 disturbing photos list videos
Ah, yes, low attention span: The only reason I could have to think that a video about a mid-10's creepypasta doesn't need to be an hour long.
Let's not pretend that the reason for these long-ass videos is because these topics warrant the deep dive and not because the algorithm incentivises longer content because it keeps people on the site longer.
Dude, long videos are awesome. You get to watch what is basically a documentary on a cool internet mystery. You wouldn't say a movie is "too long", no?
Documentaries are supposed to be paced well, a lot of modern video essays are literally slow for no reason and are over explaining for 40 minutes while the core of the subject could be explained very well in like 15 minutes
It's for suspense. People who make these videos usually love to talk about this stuff, so they don't reveal the answer immediately and instead explain when the image first appeared, the various theories and discoveries that happened over the years, the people important to the topic and even the various misleads along the way.
It's like a true crime documentary: they don't immediately jump to the killer getting caught, because that would be boring.
Here's a list of some YouTube videos essays I've absolutely loved:
never seen this in my life, but "before the body was added" is a weird statement considering it looks like something in the top left corner was just very poorly blurred out
Dude I just woke up at 6 am, and its almost pitch black, there's literally nothing wrong with this photo aside from the caption, why am I crying rn?
Past life memories

here’s a good video by the youtuber Jeffiot explaining the whole history of the picture (it is an hour long tho)
TLDR - guy processing the photo got bored and drew on it
I remember when YouTubers didn't feel the need to stretch every video into a feature-length documentary
Low attention span
