  • Ichiro at LF is heresy and I will not entertain discussion to the contrary good day

fair... I should have Julio in left

    what about RAUUUUULLLL

He's great but you can't keep out Ichiro or Julio

With Ichiro and Griffey you may only need 2 outfielders. J-Rod can play the infield on the grass.

Yeah J-Rod is getting the LF participation trophy with that outfield.

2 players in LF, no one in RF...lol

    Put Griffey in left

This is getting downvoted, but I don’t think it’d necessarily be the worst idea given how much of his career was derailed by injuries. If he could have played a less demanding position, he probably could have been able to stay on the field more.

He was an incredible CF tho…

Honestly was mainly just going off of him throwing left handed and Julio throwing right

  • Having a lineup where Seager/Olerud bats 8th and 9th presumably is incredibly arousing fun

  • I'd go:

    1) RF Ichiro 2) SS Rodriguez 3) CF Griffey 4) DH Martinez 5) C Raleigh 6) 2B Cano 7) LF Rodriguez 8) 3B Seager 9) 1B Olerud

Olerud batting 9 is a cheat code haha. can't hate that order at all.

  • Just a few more wins than the 2001 team.

yeah, the 2001 team was magical. there is too much randomness in baseball for even the best All-Time teams to win much more than the 2001 Mariners

I only missed maybe a couple innings of that season, mostly on TV. Job lined up to where I could catch the night games, weekend plans were made around games. If it was a day Thursday fame, we listened to it at work on the radio. It was so much fun. I was standing at my seat while they swung the flag and 116 wins showed on the little scoreboard.

That was the year I happened to go to the most games. My roommate at the time had somewhat frequent access to her company’s season tickets, so for about 20 games that year, she would call midday and ask if I wanted to go to the game. It was always yes. That was such a fun season.

it's like someone on the team said "let's *all* have a career year this year" and the rest of the team said "yeah, let's do it!"

  • And lose to the yankees in the ALCS.

I can only imagine the all time Yankee lineup they would be facing

Just to be clear, I wasn't talking crap about the Mariners. I re read my comment and realized it could read that way. I'm a white Sox fan and feel most of the same things.

Outside of a crazy hot steak in 2005, the trajectory had been similar? Fun 90s teams with legit all stars, hof player but never really won anything.

We had a couple runs in the 00s as did you guys. Now you're way better than us and we are living through yet another system rebuild.

I watch the Mariners hoping my sox get to where you guys are.

More than likely it would be the ALDS…. Just to maximize the disappointment…

  • Can I do this on MLB the show?

You can download custom players other people made. They have Ichiro’s batting routine but no Ichiro.

Ichiro and Felix are not in the game sadly but you can have griffey and cal and j rod and Naylor

The current meta "All Mariners" team is:

    LF Ricky Henderson

    CF JRod

    RF Chris Taylor

    1B Carlos Santana

    2B Chulo

    SS Ketel Marte

    3B Justin Turner

    C Big Dumper

    DH Junior

    Starting Pitchers are:

Big Unit, Cliff Lee, Walter, Furious George, Woo

    Bullpen is:

Shawn Armstrong, Yimi Garcia, Luke Weaver, Gabe Spier, Edwin Diaz, Matt Brash, Senior Smoke, and Goose Gossage

Strangely enough, Edgar Martinez, Kyle Seager, Gaylord Perry, and Josh Naylor are good but no longer optimal choices.

I disagree with Naylor on a personal preference since that dude just hits bombs for me. But I havent touched the game much since playoffs ended

To be fair, Naylor is still one of the best 1B in the game, and if you can't get ahold of Santana (like me) he's a great alternative (especially if you decide to run Colt Emerson at SS).

Given that I don't have a few of these players, I still use Naylor, Ibanez, Seager, etc.

If you have both Colt Emerson and Logan Gilbert captain cards, Mariner players are boosted so much that they're better than non-Mariners (like Rickey, Carlos, and Ketel). Especially since every M's player has some sort of special card this season.

    1. Julio Rodriguez CF
    2. Ken Griffey Jr LF
    3. Edgar Martinez DH
    4. Cal Raleigh C
    5. Josh Naylor 1B
    6. Eugenio Suarez 3B
    7. Jorge Polanco 2B
    8. Colt Emerson SS
    9. Randy Arozarena RF

    that sounds so much fun

I have no clue haha. that would be awesome. do they have legends?

    Yes but not all.

  • This cries out for Jon Bois

  • 3 pitchers from the current staff shows both why we have never won a World Series and just how good this staff is all at the same time.

Also if you’re putting Caudill in the pen, you should probably have putz and rhodes for elite short stints. There’s a strong case for Munoz as well. All the position players and starters are great or fair.

Most of the other decent pitchers played in the Kingdome for half the season!! That is how amazing Randy was!!

  • And the same can probably be said for every other team in the league given their historically best players.

maybe the all time yankees team can break like 130+ wins. but yeah. most likely the other teams would hover around 120

  • So Felix goes 0-39 with a 1.00 ERA?

just like his MVP season lol

  • If you're doing prime Castillo l think you gotta replace him with prime Moyer. His 3 year stretch from 2001-03 is better than the 3 years Castillo has had with them

  • If it's prime seasons, I'm taking Boone over Cano

  • AI slop

  • Can you do the opposite?

C Miguel Olivo 1B Justin smoak 2b Figgens SS Jack Perconte 3B Spezio OF Carl Everett OF Milton Bradley OF Ben Broussard “DH” Willie bloomquist

SP Carlos Silva, Erik bedard, hector noesi, Miguel Batista RP Bobby Ayala

  • Buhner may not start but he needs to be on the team.

  • Ummm why are there two in LF? Just giving Griffy the opportunity to show his range?

  • Are Bench players in this simulation as well or no ?

    Edgar is DH for sure.

  • I’d put Edgar at 3B, he played 144 games at 3B in 1991 and 143 in 1990 and around 25% of his career there.

    DH Nelson Cruz.

    Seager's gold glove 2016 put up 5.9 fWAR with 134 wRC+.

Edgar's bat handily topped that in 1992, but that was the last time he was a semi-regular 3B and his defensive value was totally gone.

Edgar can still technically play 3B (and 1B) in a pinch on this dream team, and Cruz makes a fearsome bat coming off the bench.

  • Add The Big Unit, would even delete Felix for that.

He's the first pitcher in the rotation?

  • Mark Langston. Langston and Moyer over Castillo and Kirby.

  • THIS IS OUR WORLD SERIES
