Look on the bright side. Three seconds more daylight today than yesterday, the Solstice. Winter is prepping for spring. In about seven to eight weeks, we will clearly see signs of Spring and Spring Training.
I think we’re ready for opening day. Some stuff should still be done, but I’d rather see Cole young, colt Emerson, and Ben Williamson performance during spring training and until the trade deadline, and trade for someone to replace 2nd/3rd then.

I feel like with the Refsnyder signing, we should DH Randy, have Robles move to LF and platoon/see how ST shakes out between Raley/Canzone.
I think Canzone is still a worse defender than Randy, but there will be a lot of rotation between the OF corners and Cal through DH.
Metrics have Randy a little above canzone for sure but Robles is quite a bit better and LF definitely sees more action
Typically LF is your worst fielding OF as they don’t need as strong an arm.
But Randy wont want to DH in his contract year.
Refsnyder is a good pickup. Might put Raley on trade watch.
That’d definitely be a bummer but between him and canzone you can probably get more for him so it’d make sense

Agreed that’s why I think he’s more likely to get traded. His value is much higher.

I just need it to be baseball season but first we have to see whoever wins the Super Bowl, the Winter Olympics, the World Baseball Classic and then baseball season.
In all honesty, I’ve watched the Naylor news conference probably three times and counting because that’s how much I miss baseball and the news conference just makes me happy, how can you not be romantic about baseball?

Depending on the deal but it would probably be Geno + trading for a bat + trading for a relief arm
Jerry has said repeatedly that they are looking to add “one bat.” We all know they need more than one but doesn’t mean they will.
Half the top 50 free agents are still unsigned and few of the likely to be traded players have actually been traded. Lets give it another month before we start moping around.
Or not bring back Suarez and call it an off season. They have said they'd like to add another bat but I'm not sure they think of it as being a necessity. I think they're pretty happy with themselves getting Naylor re-signed
If that’s the case then they aren’t serious about making the WS. That’s disappointing. Relying on Young, Williamson, and Emerson to all be immediate contributors is not wise.
I could see them rocking with the young guys for the couple infield positions and if they’re not working out during the season (and Mariners are in it) see them working a trade for someone
Yeah, in fact dipoto has stated that as a strategy. To save budget for deadline deals. You go into season with the expectation of making in season deals. They really could feeling they have the heavy lifting taken care of. And the way they have been promoting Colt. They planted the story they are hopeful of a Jrod type of rookie season out of him. Makes me think they aren't highly motivated to invest a lot in a veteran infielder
Off season is about the halfway point so who really knows. Still a lot of time to make moves. I’d be surprised if they don’t add at least one more regular bat, a utility type player and a low leverage pen arm.
