• This definitely feels either fake or outdated. I’m from Romania (where one of the main debates in the public space rn is the one about progressive taxation) and most “corporatiști” (educated, USR-voting white collar workers, usually millenials or gen x, active on reddit) are very much against it out of anti-PSD sentiment. We have a very toxic hustle/over-work culture despite having some of the worst work days and salaries in the EU…

That’s funny a party like USR in the US, the closest being the Democrat party would be totally for progressive taxation.

Democrats are very different from USR. Sure, the USR and Democrats share voter demographics (educated young urban dwellers) and both are very in favor of euroatlanticism, but USR is a classical liberal party economically (austerity, cut cut cut everything, privatise!, decentralize the economy) that’s also very anti-communist and doesn’t really support anything socially progressive like gay marriage and their campaigns usually revolve around anti-corruption.

    That’s an odd mix

Welcome to Eastern Europe! Moldovan politics are pretty similar.
