In a couple of years and it’ll be the opposite. Their elections tend to swing back and forth.

Election will be between communists and fascists and will have a margin of 1%

Election will be between communists and fascists

This is basically what happened in Chile just now

    parent root
    -7 points pkdevol

    As a Chilean, screw you.
    1. Kast is not a fascist
    2. Kast wont with 58%, not 1%.

They say a major change is the young people who are more right wing while the older generations remember the right wing dictators and are often left

    parent root
    3 points callmesnake13

Right? This is a two year span. That’s what tends to happen from one election to the next.

If the US survives to future elections, I predict this is our future.

I wouldn't call Costa Rica or RD left.

    parent
  • 16 points Hacksaw6412

The Dominican Republic is not left wing at all

    parent
  • 20 points arcos00

Costa Rica's government is definitely not left wing, it's probably the most right wing government in decades. The President is openly aligned with Nayib Bukele and Trump, even accepted US deportees from random countries, and his hand chosen successor candidate talks about imposing curfews.

The left won the last election in Peru but the current government is right wing because Pedro Castillo got arrested for  rebellion and conspiracy against the state.

How is puerto rico red in the first image if the only two parties in the US are right wing? 🥀

    parent
    11 points Lothdrak

In the original map, the USA is red during Biden's term.

Democrats and Republicans are both right wing

    parent root
    2 points Section1245Jaws

How are the two parties in America right wing? If only that were true - I have feeling things are about to get very very left wing come 2029

I saw today AOC beating Republicans in 2028 -

And boy the Federal Government Employees will be out for revenge

Canada, the US and Mexico have not been left in decades(if at all)

    parent
    5 points MC3Firestorm

Canada has been solidly red since 2015, and if it weren't for Trump sullying the name of conservatism, it would damn well have been blue this year but noooooo

    parent root
    2 points Section1245Jaws

Red means Conservative bc certain networks used that for Republicans for the US 2000 presidential election map

This makes no sense bc historically the bad guys use red - the Soviet Union, Communist China, North Korea all the best counties at killing their own people

However now that red means conservative and bc the USA is the only real country, the rest of the world needs to change

I did it to make you happy, it said that Canada has a left wing government, I could not post an incorrect map here. So I fixed that.

2026 is elections in Brazil, let's see how it turns out. Bolsonaro is in jail, but his son is still out there. Lula is fucking up the national finances to try and buy the electorade. The polarization is very high and the centrists still haven't figure it out who to put out.

Correct me if I’m wrong: the new right wing government of Honduras is arresting a previous president (presumably right wing?) who was recently pardoned by the far right wing US government for massive drug smuggling. Is that correct?

    parent
    5 points Haunting-Detail2025

The current government is still under Xiomora Castro, who is not right wing. The results of the most recent election have not been decided; however, the race is basically between a far right and center right candidate with the far right candidate (Asfura) probably going to win

Argentina is a great example of what socialism does - 1945 Argentina was the wealthiest country in Latin America and then comes socialist populists to destroy the country which leads to over reach by the right - it is a familiar pattern - Venezuela another great example of socialism’s virtues - they went being the richest country in Latin America on the late 1990a to one of the poorest - however the socialist increased equity - now everyone is poor
