Not exactly renewable but these countries generate more than 35% from nuclear power: Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine.
Imo it should be considered green energy because it is derived from a long-term source and there's practically no CO2 emissions. The only issue is the depleted fuel... which in comparison to how many die from air pollution is marginally lower.
Fukushima actually went really well. The government responded exactly as they should have. Of all the deaths that occurred, Theres a very low chance that even one of them occurred due to radiation. It was the Tsunami that killed people.
Yeah but we are talking about irrationalé here. Fukushima singlehandedly sped up Germany's denuclearisation and for a decade all but three reactors closed. Because it is "this scary technology that blows up every 25 years or so, we shouldn't have harnessed the power of the atom" instead of saying TEPCO and JAEA should have insisted on more rigid standards when tsunamis with such magnitude are bound to happen. On the other hand Japan learned from the Soviet mistakes and made sure that people didn't get hurt cuz of the meltdown...
Nuclear is not renewable but it is the greenest non-renewable source, so imo it should be represented separately. (Countries like Bulgaria and France produce their electricity mainly from nuclear sources as an example).
That being said, I feel deeply insulted by Bulgaria being part of the black sea, same with Serbia. But I guess NZ treatment for the lands you forget
I remember once hearing we made enough we made enough green energy to power TWO SCOTLANDS 🏴 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴
Why are Bulgaria and Serbia just gone?
Also not having borders on the map makes it hard to read.
Because lazy mapmaking
Edit: Thailand's gone as well
New Zealand made an appearance this time though.
Such a weird map, they even have data for Greenland
Dude they have data from Venezuela, my missus and her family's home country. No way Maduro is using 40% renewables. :D
Japan's a peninsula now while almost kissing South Korea.
Because all the tire burrning from the US and China lead to the Black Sea swalloing us.
Respect to the guy who just deleted Bulgaria Kosovo Serbia and Hungary for some reason
Oh also north Macedonia
And thailand
Also half of Maine.
Look at Svalbard. It’s only have… coastlines, with very few land inside. Nothing to say!
And Philippines become a single island, instead of different large small islands.
Balkans war is still being fought at some corners of the world
Peace in our time /s
You guys couldn’t behave. /s
It's the return of the Panonian sea, and some extra
OP I don’t think you’ve spammed this sub with enough poorly sourced maps, you should find even more shitty maps to flood the sub with.
The colors are hard to read
Without a key we don't even know which is which.

"But... but... muh Chernobyl!"
You can add Fukushima too. Though these should serve as examples of how to improve instead of abandoning.

France is Nuclear to me that's good enough. I know for some thats not acceptable, but the output to input is so positive.

And even then if we ever figure fusion out it'll be the nuclear countries like France in the best position to utilise it
erm... no. Fusion and fission are fundamentally different in terms of design and use. The 17 nuclear reactors France has don't give it advantage...
Afghanistan barely generates any energy, it's mostly imported.
Scotland produces 113% of demand. But of course, on the one day it's not blowing a gale each year, we do require other sources.

Rookie numbers.
I thought China would be there
62% Coal
30% Renewables
5% Nuclear
3% Natural Gas
How about population comparison with that map?
Too little too late
Definitely Pakistan now
At first I thought it’s something about Mcdonalds
Tip for new graphic designers: bright yellow does not contrast well against white.
Wtf is that map ?
Trump sweating fake tan watching the renewables close in
And can you tell us what percentage of global energy usage these 89 countries use?
North Korea? Really?
Yup, hydro.
Lots of rivers.
