What foldable shopping bags that you can keep in your pocket, do you guys recommend? Like chicobag, nanobag etc.
Baggu its a little bit to big. And I also like the ones where the storage bag is connected to bag itself so you dont lose it.
Yes, I see that but I want to buy one with a small storage pouch. Like chicobag and nanobags have perfect pouches, but like the baggu pouch for the bag is a little bit to big.
Small to carry inside backpack, medium, large and medium cold storage for grocery run. Rarely have to use the large one. Buy those when you visit Japan or via Amazon usa
Probably the best value in this thread by a few hundred percent at least. Basically free. Nanobags are in the double digits. I love my Nanobags but not sure they're ten times better than these - but, the woven Nylon ripstop is going to be quite a bit better than thin polyester.
The Skynkes are plenty strong. I use them for all kinds of things. 8 full glass jars of pasta Sauce plus 4 packages of dry spaghetti, no problem. 2 half gallon cartons of milk plus 2 half gallon plastic bottles of juice plus a 32 oz brick of cheese, no problem.
My husband keeps stealing my bags to lug his cordless drill backup batteries and charger. Good thing I bought a crap-ton of them.
Orbitkey foldable totes are what I use. They pack up well and are super tough. I keep them all over the place, in my cars, in my other larger market totes, in travel bags, and my work EDC backpack.
They are infinitely useful and I love that they fold up tight without unrolling.
The Nanobag Sling packs down tiny. Amazingly strong and the crossbody strap is long and wide. It works best if you take a moment to spread the strap out smoothly over your shoulder.
The Flip and Tumble 24/7 is excellent and has a felt pad to keep from sliding. Coat pocket size and folds neatly into its stretchy pocket.
Carrying heavy loads with this type of ultra minimal bag can be real rough on the hands - which is why I love the sling form factor. I feel like sneering at the plebs carrying crappy bags with heavy loads as I saunter out of the grocery store with two Nanobag Slings hanging off my shoulder. 😂
We have two of the Sea to Summit Ultrasil Shopping Bags. They are excellent! So strong and lightweight and pack down into a tiny attached bag. I always carry one in my EDC sling, and I add a second to any trip we take. Perfect for groceries, the beach, pool days cruises, etc.
I have a ChicoBag Vita and a Nanobag Sling. I feel like things want to fall out of the Nanobag a lot easier if it starts to go a little sideways. So even though the ChicoBag is a bit larger when packed up, I like it better. And it just feels like it holds more.
Nano bag. It packs up incredibly small, holds a lot and comes in a couple of sizes and a few styles including tote, sling and backpack. They are amazing and I always have a couple tossed in my day bag and leave a few in my car.
Motsly because I am looking for options, like the nanobag and chicobag looks like what I am looking for, folding down into a small pouch. But I am also interested in what else is out there before I buy.
Well, IKEA has one that's only slightly larger but costs less than one tenth of a Nanobag. They're a bit overpriced (and I say that as a Nanobag purchaser). Granted, the Nanobags are woven ripstop Nylon, not polyester like IKEA.
I have two Nanobag Slings. One of the first things I did was rip the pouch off them, I just fold and roll them as-is and shove into my pocket or (more often) my crossbody sling.
I like the slings because you can comfortably carry them off the shoulder instead of carrying them with your hands like a caveman. I've had four 1.5 liter coke bottles and whatever else I could fit into one and it didn't feel unsafe at all, they're quite strong.
That said, you can buy ten IKEA Skynke for the price of one Nanobag - but that said, the Skynke is polyester, whereas the Nanobag is a woven Nylon ripstop, which is a whole different animal and probably why the Nanobag feels like it could carry anything you can fit into it.
I have some from baggu and chicobag. Baggu makes a smaller sized one called baby if you’re talking about the regular size being too large.
The chicobag ones are pretty basic but they have an attached pouch and come with a carabiner. They’re not top tier quality wise, but I’ve found they’re more abrasion resistant than baggu’s fabric. I attach chicobag to the outside of bags for the most part, baggu is better for going in my pockets or smaller bags like a sling.
I hav a few Chicobags I keep in the car but rarely use any more. I hav switched over to all Nanobags (regular tote and crossbody).
They are less than half the size of the Chicobag
AND you don’t need to do fancy folding to put them away. You just use your thumbs to wedge them back into the bag part.
Shupatto is my favourite because it easily folds back after use. I don’t need to forcefully stuff it back into a small drawstring pouch. Sizes: Small for smaller purchases and large for grocery runs. Both exist in my 9L Greenroom136 Bootstrap (S)
Im looking for a shopping bag you can store in a small pouch when you dont use it. Like the nano and chicobags both have the small pouch for storage when you dont use them.
I keep a nanobag sling (19L) in my EDC sling at all times. Nothing rivals this in terms of weight and nano'ness.
I also have the PD Packable tote, which looks nicer if style matters to you, closes with zipper, however when packed it's about 4x as large as a man bag.
The PD Pacable tote was really cool! Maybe I will get one of those also, its bigger when in the storage bag, but with zippers and everything it looks pretty handy.
Maybe I will get a PD tote and also maybe a nano bag or something similar when I just need a "small bag"
I got two of the Lego-branded shopping bags from target a few years ago. They pack down pretty small and turn out to be super durable. The tag says “LEGO” and THAT’S IT. I would love to find the brand, since these things have outlasted most other reusable shopping bags.
You are looking for a Nano Bag!
These are perfect and there is no better option. I love the sling version especially
Thats what I have been looking at, what is the difference between chicobag and nanobag? And what other "brands" are there to choose from.
Size is the big difference. Nano bag is pretty much as small as you'll get. There's thousands of reusable bag options though.
Yes, I see that but I want to buy one with a small storage pouch. Like chicobag and nanobags have perfect pouches, but like the baggu pouch for the bag is a little bit to big.
My nanobags are probably 1/3 the size of my old chico bags, if not smaller. And definitely much lighter weight. No competition.
I have a Japanese Shupatto and absolutely love it. It holds so much, folds up nicely in my 1L fanny pack and folds back up easily.
What size do you use?
I use the small. It's good for spontaneous shopping trips, never know when you'll need it!
Also like the Shupatto bags, and have a few. I find the one I use the most is the vertical bag.
Small to carry inside backpack, medium, large and medium cold storage for grocery run. Rarely have to use the large one. Buy those when you visit Japan or via Amazon usa
I keep a couple Ikea Skynke bags in my purse or pocket as part of my EDC (every day carry). Only costs $1.49 USD.
Probably the best value in this thread by a few hundred percent at least. Basically free. Nanobags are in the double digits. I love my Nanobags but not sure they're ten times better than these - but, the woven Nylon ripstop is going to be quite a bit better than thin polyester.
To be fair, nano bags give a lot of freebies. I bought like 10-12 bags and they gave me like 7-9 for free.
How long ago was this? I
Just a few months ago, all the free bags were black standard bags
The Skynkes are plenty strong. I use them for all kinds of things. 8 full glass jars of pasta Sauce plus 4 packages of dry spaghetti, no problem. 2 half gallon cartons of milk plus 2 half gallon plastic bottles of juice plus a 32 oz brick of cheese, no problem.

Thx for sharing. 👍

Edit: https://www.orbitkey.com.au/products/foldable-tote-bag Here it is.
Not bad but probabliy four times larger than a wadded up Nanobag.
The Nanobag Sling packs down tiny. Amazingly strong and the crossbody strap is long and wide. It works best if you take a moment to spread the strap out smoothly over your shoulder.

I like Nanobag.
I really like the Peak Design Packable tote. They pack really flat, very strong, can go over my arm and have a zipped top.
Yup, I’ve had one of these for a little over a year and taken it on several trips. It’s great, just really well made.

I always have Muji foldable shoulder bag in my sling. Folds into itself, works great.
Shupatto bag
Why do you say “like a nano bag”? Why not the nano bag instead of one “like” it?

Marna shupatto
I use the Sea to Summit Ultrasil Shopping Bag and the Peak Design Packable Tote.

I was not talking about the bag size beeing too large but the bag "pouch" for storing the bag is to large for my pockets on the baggu bages😆

I bought two of these earlier this year.
ChicoBag Sling rePETe + Refine Crossbody https://share.google/QcxBntLOxhgyVQgKM
I hate regular bags that only go on one shoulder. For my body they constantly slip down.
I use a moon nude and I'm happy w it for shopping but I'm not entirely sure it is what you're looking for
Im looking for a shopping bag you can store in a small pouch when you dont use it. Like the nano and chicobags both have the small pouch for storage when you dont use them.
The sea to summit nano bag turns into a 20l backpack and it so tiny

I recommend both products haha

Yeah if you can get both, do so, but if u only get one I think the nann bag is a good start

Nanobag for sure
I use the Ikea ones. Cheap and efficient.
I have an orbitkey folding bag and it's fantastic
