• I don't understand why they think that genitals are so important, like yeah there's a penis In a women's bathroom so what?

It's quite common actually for boys to be in a womens bathroom and vice versa, some children aren't old enough to enter a restroom unattended

Another example is when I was in Kindergarten and we had water day, after we all had to change out of our swim suits, but there wasn’t enough stalls in the boys bathroom for all the boys to change in a timely manner, so they sent some boys into the girls bathroom to change, in which I was one of those boys. Now to make this also prove irony, this all went down in a red state.

Note: I am not old by any means, this was during the Obama administration.

Exactly! I don’t know the shape of anyone’s genitals when I use a public bathroom… I don’t want to know and I don’t care. It’s not my business.

This better be what I think it is

    Edit: yep.

I also don't understand what mysterious force there is that is preventing cis men from entering the women's bathroom either... why is there so much focus on trans women?? Anyone can actually enter ANY bathroom, there isn't a guard posted at each bathroom! A predator won't be cartoonishly thwarted by a bathroom saying "Women" on it.

Good lord, these are such jobless, bigoted actions! My skin crawls... That poor woman!! That's another thing I wonder when Congress and local governments waste money on such stupid laws, how are these to be enforced??

The people passing these laws don't see this as a "flaw".

Under normal circumstances, when a random man is seen entering an occupied women's room, the women inside raise their defenses figuratively and sometimes literally, and will tell the man to get out. It's harder to victimize someone if they're shouting as soon as you enter the room, and a lot harder to jack off in a stall or plant hidden cameras (the common offenses) if women aren't letting you in at all.

So it's not a mysterious preventative force, it's simply a degree of deterrence from potential offenders knowing that women will defensively react before you've even tried anything if they see you enter. Feminists elaborate on that point frequently, you should try listening to them some time if you were genuinely curious and trying to understand the arguments.

I'm saying the argument that transwomen are more likely to be predators if allowed in women's restrooms is nonsense.

A predator, whether trans or cis, will do their best to commit their act of violence, often regardless of social taboos. This idea that women are safer from predators in women's restrooms is not one that makes sense. The idea that a transwoman will utilize her identity to predate in the restroom is no more likely than a man going in the opposite sex restroom to do the same because there is no barrier at the end of the day. A man may face more of a social fuss, but I'm not imagining these attacks happening in very busy times for the restroom.

It is pure fear mongering of very unlikely scenarios. Women are most likely to be targeted by people they know, this intense focus on trans women using women's restrooms is just another technique of distracting us from larger issues like wealth inequity and class violence in our society, it's scape goating and bigotry. I cannot fathom how much money has been wasted by local governments wasting time on stupid bathroom bills when our infrastructure and wealth inequity are reaching peaks of instability.

Also, given how much these chuds won't shut the fuck up about it, it would be downright idiotic for a man to pretend to be a trans woman to gain access to girls in bathrooms.

His argument is whatever allows him to blame anyone who is not similar to him.

"Most child abuse is caused by women" is an objective insane statement

Isn't this inherently trans-inclusive by his stance? In order for that to be relevant whatsoever, he has to consider trans-women real women

Yeah there isn’t a fuckin statistic on earth that matches up with this narrative. He’s just spitballin’ on coke trying to see what sticks. This is generally what happens on a men’s rights podcast too.

Guy was definitely pulling all his online programming out of his ass in word vomit. Four drinks in, presumably had already used his cocaine, and the comic stated wasn’t even into the bulk of his set. Guy was really there just to cause problems and everyone keeping a cooler head than him got him arrested instead of vilified

The talking points sound properly insane when spoken out loud. They ONLY work online, where the rightie can convince themeves every response they get is secretly angry

I'm over here thinking "so what about the little boys going in women's bathrooms with their mom?"

  • He’s worried about transwomen sneaking into bathrooms to be with little girls? Is he worried about cis men walking into bathrooms with little boys? Transmen near boys? Women near little girls?

He worried about predators being near kids. Everyone is. Cis and trans people are against that. But he thinks predators and trans people are the same, bet he doesn’t think at all about cis people being predators at all.

I think he’s a predator, trying to mask his rapey ways by pretending to be an anti abuse crusader.

  • Steve is amazing. Go see him!

  • Even before discovering I was trans, I was using women's restrooms all the time because I'm disabled, and my caregiver, who is usually my mother, had to help me in certain bathroom situations. The only way for her to do that comfortably was for us to be in a women's bathroom. The bathroom argument is always far more nuanced

  • Shocking if the cops were actually considering letting him go after punching someone.

not really if the guy who got punched didn't care or wasn't injured, there's very little value added to society by putting some clown in the drunk tank for a day, night life cities have people get in fights all the time and cops rarely do anything except tell you to walk away

  • When my son was younger and a real cutie patootie, he had long hair and was often mistaken for being a girl. He took it like a champ each time. He also figured out it was easier and safer for him to use the women’s bathrooms. Until recently I never thought of it as something wrong or political, because it’s just a kid trying to take a pee. Conservatives have really made sexual deviants out of themselves. If someone tells me they are “conservative” I can’t help but assume they have a sexual deviancy (not just a kink). Until I’m proven wrong, I’ll continue to think and judge that way.

  • White text guy is great, but I have one note; HRT is lifelong. We can't just take hormones for a few years and then stop, because some things will revert as our hormones return to our birth sex's levels.

That's not to say that some people transition to a certain extent and then stop because they're happy; some absolutely do. But if you're transitioning in the traditional binary sense, you're likely to need HRT for the rest of your life.

I realised recently that a lot of cis people don't realise that. My colleagues were asking me about my transition recently, and were surprised to find out that I'll be taking testosterone in some way shape or form for the rest of my days unless I need to stop for a medical (or legal, by the way things are going) reason. For most people, this is lifelong.

Transitioning is not something that someone does on a whim, and it's certainly not something that pervy men pretend to do in order to gain access to women's spaces. Those men would just enter those spaces regardless.

I'm surprised, but also not surprised, that this sub isn't taking more issue with the comedian seeming to imply that trans women should only be entitled to use a women's room if they've been on HRT for at least eight years.

I don't believe that was what he was trying to say. He was trying to point out how ludicrous it would be for someone to go through everything trans people do just to try to prey on girls and women.

I think using "8 years on HRT" was just the first thing to come to mind

I think that's what's normally called the "motte" in a motte and bailey fallacy. It's a heck of a lot easier to defend someone using a women's bathroom who's spent a lot of time and work provably medically/physically transitioning than it is to defend anyone who's only socially transitioned at best.

Ok well he's coming up with his arguments on the fly with no chance to really think deeply into nuance.

I didn't read that implication at all. I thought the point was no person would go through the effort of any kind of transition just to enter a bathroom.

Probably no person would (though paraphilias can get weird so it's not impossible even if nobody would admit to it), but what I'm pointing out is important, what his example is ignoring, is that not every trans identified person medically transitions at all, and more than that not every one does so before using a women's bathroom, but the orthodoxy wants them all treated identically.

If we can't say there's a difference between someone who's spent thirty years in their assumed gender and someone who's spent two weeks, and that such a difference could lend itself to different permissions, are we not capable of some nuance?

This is just going into "but you aren’t trans enough" territory. I get that seeing someone who looks 100% masculine but is transfem walk into the women’s bathroom might feel weird, but that’s an edge case. What you’re implying either dips into Rassenkunde levels of measuring who’s “legit” based on appearance or just plain gatekeeping. You can’t build fair rules around how someone looks without it turning into that same pseudoscientific sorting logic.

  • All of them. Charge him with all of them. Throw the book at this filth.

  • Oh hey this is where I live.

  • Women’s bathrooms have stalls! How in the name of Christ would anyone even be able to see little girls while peeing if there are lockable stalls?

  • What's a heckler?

Someone at a comedy show who interrupts the show to yell at the comedian, usually insulting or argumentative

Isn't he like hired or something

No. They're just disruptive jerks in the audience that think they're funnier than the performer. Though usually they get verbally eviscerated by the performer, so they do tend to make the show better. But not in the way they planned.

Steve Hoffstetter (comedian in video) is notoriously brutal to hecklers, but somehow that doesn't deter other idiots from trying.

Oh I played fallout new vegas and you hire a heckler for Vegas strip

this is maybe the funniest creation of a misunderstanding, thank you for clarifying before going into a rant about how they hired this guy to be hateful for clicks, mr. gamer man

Ya know what? I’m not even downvoting the other comment because this is the best reason for a misunderstanding I’ve ever seen

Is that..... someone creating a fic scenario in a fic scenario, and using that fic scenario to make a fic scenario in r/mansfictionalscenario ?

    Did we make peak fiction?

That could be an argument but I doubt actors will be ok with getting arrested considering how much they’re paid

Only heckler I know is from new vegas where you hire him

People, please quit downvoting these questions. Not everyone already knows what you know

    Edit: Dicks.

  • Lol what a loser

  • Honestly someone should check his hard drive at this point

  • I thought this man was part of the show because otherwise it wouldn't be comedy

  • Here's the thing about bigots:

    Every accusation is a confession.

That transphobe says that because he's probably a child molester.

    See also r/NotADragQueen

  • Bro got roasted so hard. He completely ripped apart his argument.

  • I wonder if the cops cringe with this because maybe they take same side in some things/to some extent and they see this dude behave like a total idiot.

Like whenever someone "argues" points I agree with by sheer idiocy, that pisses me off because they're hurting the cause. Never happened to this extent for me though.

  • In the end, we all have more in common than we don't. We all just want to feel as safe as possible while we take a dump.

That guy is a real genius to assault a guy and wait around for the cops while he has a pocket full of blow...

  • This guy is known for fake hecklers and he's just a total hack.

  • [removed]

? I love how you’re blaming trans women for rape when cis men are more often than not the perpetrators. What exactly is the thought process there? You transphobes are wild. Leave trans women alone.

It is a fictional scenario and you shouldn't bring myths here.
