That looks incredibly cozy. You may feel lonely, or like this isn't enough, just stay positive and keep working and don't forget to relax sometimes. Take up meditation for like 10 minutes a day, even if it sounds stupid. Wish you the best man!
Chamber...Cell....Palace, it's all the same. Home is where you make it. If anything, this place is close to void of all those too many unnecessary "things" that we all tend accumulate over a lifetime. Simply, the basic necessities.
I had grand parents who believed suffering every moment in your waking years was just and worth it because in their minds, heaven waits for those who punish themselves with hard work, monotonous labor, and deny themselves earthly pleasures.
They died sick, sad, and fucking miserable at the world.
OP, keep your TV.
I didn't say shit about heaven or punishing himself. The post is titled self improvement space, yet he has distractions and shit to help him check out of real life, out of his goal. If self improvement is the goal, forge the new you, then add back on comforts once you're satisfied.
If you think watching TV, gaming, and endless scrolling is enjoying life, you're fucking whack, all due respect. There are more options than checking out and working. Like, a whole fucking world of other shit to do, try, explore, people to meet, life to live.
You're being downvoted but youre right. These people are so plugged in they consider living without a tv to be punishing themselves. Sad mentality. Is living without a gym, or yoga studio or liquor punishing yourself too?
Many people are much happier without a tv. Use your laptop if you want you enjoy media, if your goal is curating your limited living space for self improvement, then cutting screen time out of your life is 100% going to be condusive to that goal.
I don't think it's that people are "so plugged in" it's that people are seeing someone who clearly doesn't have a lot of possessions, and I'm guessing the tv is a treasured one, and being told to get rid of something he gets a lot of enjoyment from in order to meet some ridiculous idea that salvation comes from suffering.
I should have chosen my words more carefully. I meant store it/put it away. Out of sight, Out of mind. Until OP reaches whatever improvement goal they want to reach. Doesn't have to be forever.
I do not have a TV. My living apace is a van, and much smaller than this.
And youre progecting a lot. Thats a $40 tv, not a treasured family heirloom. Youre proving my point this mentality is legitimatley heartbreaking. Hope things turn around for you.
Sure dawg. Weirdly defensive about this one, probably worth some introspection.
"Im not projecting, im just hyper aware that op and everyone else feels this very specific way that this persons tv has sentimental value and that in no way is a reflection of my own values."
It looks like a French prison mate, but yeah, you can, everything starts with your thoughts
lol I need to go to France and commit some crimes
This is nicer than what I pay 800 a month for in America🙃
If you can wall mount the guitar someplace visible, I have the Strat squire too, everyone asks about it, conversation starter, like books too.
All you need is a place to rest your bones and keep your thing secure. Everything past that point is luxury.
100%
Yeah I always bring protection.
He was a bed rotter, AdmiralBilson?
He was a skater boy, she said see ya later boy. He wasn't good enough for her.
Now he's a superstar, slamming on his guitar.
Can your pretty face see what he's worth?

With some rugs and some colorful lights yea that would make a fine cave
Home is where you make it. Work on yourself OP. Always room to learn and improve.

Depends how long you're in there for? I like to be out and about a lot
more like self destruction
Get rid of the tv
What an odd thing to say. Why?
You'll see a lot more improvement without distraction. Silence is where you find yourself.

Gotcha. Yeah that kind of makes more sense.
Get rid of distractions and whatnot

Lol, you know nothing about how things are in my life.
Who is projecting now?
And i wasn't saying that is what op thought, it's how other people see the situation and why this person is getting downvoted.

What if there's a heaven² that you can only access by punishing yourself in the first heaven ?
Explains a lot about reddit...
Why did I get downvoted ? 😂😂😂
Who knows. Reddit is crazy sometimes
I keep the TV out of respect for my fawtha
