I do this rather too frequently - I’m a great one for falling and injuring meself. Not permanently pissed, got MS and always have some kind of abrasion and massive lump on my forehead from bashing door posts. Having said that, I get great parking and all the best drugs so swings/roundabouts.
PSA for people who have newly adopted or rescued an abandoned dog. The photo in this post reminds me that if you’re (by the word ‘you’re’ actually mean me, the idiot) thinking that after only two weeks your new canine family member would actually allow you (me) to open his mouth go check for broken teeth or gum infections, the dog can indeed bite right through the connecting tissue between your splayed fingers.

Second PSA regarding hand injuries. A 78% mini Schnauzer, 11% American Staffordshire Bull terrier and 11% Newfoundland can definitely bite through your thumbnail. Same dog, and now 7 years after cancer killed him, I’ve just found an adoptable dog that looks exactly like him. Apparently I’m a glutton for punishment.
This happened to my thumb 3 weeks ago. Though, I was holding a glass that caused the laceration. I cut the webbing between my thumb and index finger. My thumb has been numb and I've had shooting severe pain. I go see a hand surgeon in a couple days.
