Holy shit, this is the first one in history I ever got. I can see these but can never make them out. Even with this I thought the N64 logo but it was a straight shot in the dark.
Crazy, I can only see this one as a convex image with the logo recessed. Back in the day I remember being able to see some images both ways and being able to swap between the two.
I had no idea there was a whole category of magic eye meant to be viewed a particular way. Neat.
Nice Username. I actually have a hard time seeing these crossview ones with the correct topography...
I CAN see them correctly, but it takes some work, whereas the traditional ones I can often look at in multiple different ways, with minimal effort. Convex, concave, and some I can see multiple image sort of stacked on each other, almost like a fractal pattern and can even see different, increasing repeated images. Pretty wild stuff.
Holy shit I never knew that each technique would result in a different image structure until I read this comment. I just tried both on this image and got it to pop out and to recess.
Also now all my vision is blurry, so thanks for that.
You are doing parallel view. If you can’t do cross view automatically, try this. Touch your pointer/index finger to the front of your nose. If you see two fingers, your eyes are crossed. Now do this in front of the screen. Keep your eyes on your fingers until you can hold the gaze. Now look past in between the “two fingers” onto the screen. There should be one floating object in front of you.
This one took me a while (parallel magic eyes are easier for me) but once I got it, wow! I love the curve of the background, and the whole image looks like it’s popping out an inch in front of my screen. Really cool!
I use Open Stereogram. You need a depthmap and a texture and that’s basically it.
For crossview you would need to invert the colors of the depthmaps that’s you’ll typically find which have light being closer to camera and dark being further.
You can invert a depthmap in Photopea (free online photoshp) CTRL + I
So I enlarged it and zoomed in so there was no black around the sides. I have to cross then uncross my eyes to see the image - did that. Then I couldn’t not see it!
I’m bouncing my phone around, closing and reopening my eyes… ended up accidentally opening my notifications and escaped!
I can't for the life of me get this to work. The shape in the middle should be poking out right? While the surroundings seem to be furter away? I can not make that happen
I've never once for the life of me been able to see one of these, is it just supposed to repeat the logo over and over again or is it just one logo in the center
I used to only be able to see the inverted image by crossing my eyes before learning to do it properly. But now for some reason the proper method pushes it in instead of popping it out? Lol.
I had to do it the cross eyed method to get it to pop. Is this with everyone or am just tripping? Haha
Try holding your finger in front of your face and focusing on it. Move it back and forth slowly until you notice the outline of the figure, then slowly try to adjust the focus of your eyes without changing the intersection point of your eyes (your finger)

⬆️ understand, but it doesn’t read.
It’s very shallow, not the usual depth.
Thank you.

This one was difficult due to the logo being recessed rather then above the background layer
This is the crossview magic eye sub. Here’s the standard version

If this one works for you, you might enjoy r/crossview

I just discovered cross view stereograms, and I don’t understand if I’m using the wrong technique or it is supposed to be convex??
Do you see it coming out? (I’m used to parallel view)
These are for people who cross their eyes to see these instead of diverging their eyes towards parallel.
If you cross your eyes these will pop out like how people doing parallel view see regular magic eyes.
Thank you for the explanation!! I have to learn a new skill

As another comment mentioned, you’re most likely using parallel view; you need to do the opposite here.
Ah there it is. I didn't know they had different ways of doing it.

it's for crossview
[deleted]
That worked. I put a finger between my eyes and the screen, and focused on the finger. The logo popped out.
I can see multiple 2D layers at intervals but can't tell what it's supposed to be...
Nintendo 64 logo
Then you crossed too much (like I did initially) - this one only needs a slight crossview.
Wow, that makes a huge difference! Thanks so much! 😁
I’ve never had one of these slide me into over-crossing as much as this did. This one is exceptionally hard to maintain for me.

I can always do crossviewing. However, I can never do parallel viewing. Any tips on how to do parallel?

Incredible clarity and depth on this one, but I couldn't figure out what the logo was on my own either.
Took me a while at full screen - but very clear once I 'focussed out' or looked at the horizon or whatever it is one does.
How do you guys create such images? I'd love to do one on my own.

Thanks! Will try it on the weekend.
I finally saw it. This is the first time I’ve been able to see one of these
I see it
First time I’ve gotten one to work, in a while. Last time I saw one like this, I was playing GameCube.
That was incredible my first time with those MagicEye Pics😮
Looks more like a pacman ghost. Lots of details are lost
It took a while for it to click once I was seeing the 3D, but it’s pretty cool!
I just got stuck in this thing!!!!!
So I enlarged it and zoomed in so there was no black around the sides. I have to cross then uncross my eyes to see the image - did that. Then I couldn’t not see it!
I’m bouncing my phone around, closing and reopening my eyes… ended up accidentally opening my notifications and escaped!
Happy!
Is it just me or is the left-facing N kinda wonky?
Like the slope doesn’t quite reach the top.
I thought it was the black ops “III” lol
I can't for the life of me get this to work. The shape in the middle should be poking out right? While the surroundings seem to be furter away? I can not make that happen
Try this one https://www.reddit.com/r/autostereograms/s/0oxfifMqn8
That one works flawlessly while the one in this post gets inverted 🤔
If you’re doing parallel view all the ones on this sub will look inverted.
I'm trying the other one but can't get it done properly
Pretty sure you have gnawed a hole through the fabric of space time with this one
I’ve literally never got these to work for me.
Me either...
I grew up with the N64, so cool to me. Also, I like how the background is curved like a half pipe.
I've never once for the life of me been able to see one of these, is it just supposed to repeat the logo over and over again or is it just one logo in the center
One 3D logo in the center.
I made these stereo magic eye pairs that you can vide with Google Carboard or a stereo viewer.
How in the helm are you people seeing anything really? I’m so intrigued I must be able to see it somehow some way

It's a difference between parallel view and cross view. Each requires their own methods to view them properly, if not the image is inverted.
It sounds to me that you are using the parallel view method on this cross view image.
It’s a schooner!
Ha ha ha ha. You dumb bastard. It's not a schooner... it's a Sailboat.
I can see it I just can’t make out what it is.
I can see it clearly in the standard version.
Ok.... this tripped me up.
I used to only be able to see the inverted image by crossing my eyes before learning to do it properly. But now for some reason the proper method pushes it in instead of popping it out? Lol.

How do you cross view , I keep thinking I have it but then it's only parallel view

Netflix?
Hint: Either get in or get out (or change the system...)
