This is incredible in reanimator decks ? Maybe this will see play in the sultai deck in standard

Nah, we would play winternight stories first and we don’t run that

    parent root
    27 points dirENgreyscale

I wouldn’t, instant speed drastically changes how you can use this card.

Dodging sorcery speed graveyard hate is huge.

    parent root
    1 points LimitlessKenobi

It's good, I wouldn't call it huge due to the fact that most graveyard hate that sees play is instant speed or something like Rest in Peace.

    parent root
    1 points IsaakWardMTG

Yeah that’s true, the reanimator deck is a tap out deck as is tho so it does feel out of place

    parent root
    2 points DrosselmeyerKing

I think the only spot it can compete is with [[Rakshasa's Bargain]] for the reanimator shells that even run it.

I dont see it replacing any of the current non-creature spells in that deck and it certainly isn't replacing a creature

I do believe this did see play in reanimator decks in the past for this exact reason. For Sultai, it's going to depend on how many slots they can afford to three-drops. No doubt it my mind they'll be jamming the new green world champ creature as a four-of.

Winternight Stories at instant speed hmm

    parent
    24 points Sun-sett

Winternight is much stronger when harmonized, so this is less than half the effect. The instant speed is a plus though.

    parent root
    1 points SadSeiko

Yeah flashback is really strong but think of this.

Faithless looting at instant without flashback? That’s unprintable

    parent root
    1 points Sun-sett

I guess the difference is Winternight usually costs 1 mana, while this thing is 3 mana. Because of looting, Winternight sometimes doesn't even cost any card if they just cast it from gy only.

    parent root
    1 points SadSeiko

Yeah I think winternight is better

Gotta be worth considering for reanimator style decks.

Instant speed is nice too. If you managed to squeeze creatures like beeza, tidebinder, graveyard exiling guy, etc into your control deck you can pitch whichever one is bad in that match up.

    parent
    2 points Tanasiii

Very good at instant speed because then you can also hold mana to counterspell any graveyard hate your opponent has. That was the biggest downside of winternight

You can literally just decline to discard a 'single' creature, and discard 2 of them instead.

Aside from reanimator is there any reason to run this over [[Stock up]]
