Hi everyone, im recently learning some magics that force the expectator to choose a number through some cards. One of this magics is the number 13 from dani daortiz.

I was wondering if someone has any material or any tatics to force the number 13 when the expectator chooses low number cards, like A, 2, 3, etc. I know you can combine more than 2 cards and try to reach 13, but sometimes it feels not natural. Can anyone share your thoughts on it?

  • You can arrange a deck:

    Ace, Queen, Ace, Queen, 2, Jack, 2, Jack, 3, 10, 3, 10, 4, 9, 4, 9... etc, so every pair adds to 13 or 14, and remove the kings. Then you can have a spectator take two adjacent cards, and offset your count by 1 if the total is 14.

  • This trick is less about forcing 13 and more about improvising to a known location

    If you have an A and a 3 you can make 13 (like a 2 digit number)

    If one of the cards has 13 letters you can spell it

    You can ‘accidentally’ leave some cards on the table when picking up the deck to position the target card at 12, 11, 10 etc

    You ‘accidentally’ drop the cards they gave you face up and ask for new ones because you saw them

    Etc etc

  • Look into getting some Magnetic Forcing Die by Alan Wong & Magic Express.

    Buy 3 force dice that total 13 ( e.g 4, 6,3)

    Dont ask them to name a number just get them to drop the dice into a glass and they will total whatever number you want to force.
