Someone mentioned in a different comment that that is the most you can donate in Australia. Not sure if that's true but still nice to see the rich donating as well
I Mean the gofundme is just the pay for the heroic act. I feel like a few million is a deserved pay if you save a life. This Guy potentially saved a lot more lives. He can spend it all on hookers & blow for all I Care. He deserves it and it's his money unconditionally.
Seeing so many people come together to support him just warms my heart and brings tears to my eyes. He thoroughly deserves it. Saw the video and it was surreal and he is a true hero.
The racist population in the states is guaranteed higher than the population of Australia, but I agree with the sentiment. I hope this man makes millions.
It's at 1.2 mil right now with over 20k individual donations. The target amount is 1.7 million - will probably hit that within a few hours at this rate!
Edit: 24 hours later the current total is now 2.2 million and still going strong!!
He's about to get the top honour that can be awarded to a civilian, his Go Fund Me was about 500k last I looked, and he's pretty much the most popular person in the country right now. His mum was just on the news and she was so damn proud of him.
I think people forget that there was a good chance he didn't even get near the gun man and was just instantly shot and killed. A man risking his life for others like that is a legend.
This gent is gonna have the busiest grocery store in Bondi going forward and he deserves it all. Such a shame he even had to put his life at risk in the first place though.
How many lives he saved and what is that worth? Priceless but I’d say he should get enough money to never have to work again, live in a nice house in a safe area, and be able to provide for his children so they can attend any college in the world and become the kind of citizens the world needs.
Only publicly. In private he's getting a thong (shoe, not underwear) to the head with a "How dare you scare me like that?!" in whatever language they speak at home.
The host is a car company and Zach aka MD Motivator on TikTok who is well known for his gofundme fundraisers and has worked with them on multiple occasions
Zach is lovely! mdmotivator is his Insta. He gives out loads of amazing things to people in need and from what I have read and seen is genuine. But, you are right to be cautious of Go fund me pages.
For there to be comparatively a “low bar”, there had to be a bar to begin with. Uvalde is seriously the singular biggest fucking cowardly police situation I have ever heard of.
I will never forget the clip of one of the law enforcement men in that school hallway, dressed in his crisp button down shirt and khakis, casually walking over to use the hand sanitizer dispenser, all while shots were being fired at children in nearby classrooms.
No kidding. The police who responded at Bondi were very quick and very brave. I wish we could say the same about Uvalde, which was an acute national embarrassment (on top of the chronic national embarrassment of having mass shootings once a week or so).
Is there a go fund me for the woman who shielded a 3 year old with her body after she had been shot? She had been shot and saw the kid and grabbed her to cover her with her own body
This is clearly a man worried about if his fruits are going to spoil, and if the person he got to take over is messing anything up. As someone whose family sells fruits, I know that look well. Rest up hero, you earned it.
It was just so incredibly, stunningly selfless. Watching the reaction to this man's bravery, I've been thinking about that Mr Rogers quote where his mum would tell him to respond to scary things by looking for the helpers. It feels like that's what we're collectively doing here, and it's a light of hope in darkness.
Answering atrocity by highlighting bravery like this, and by gathering round to support victims, defeats craven acts of barbarism carried out by deluded lunatics.
Rather than succumbing to their desired fear, we must bury the names of these cowards and instead amplify the ways in which the best of us respond to the worst. If we do that, and do whatever small things we can for all those who will be feeling understandably afraid, society coheres where bad actors want it to splinter.
Did the guy he got the gun away from then run off to the bridge with his son and then get another gun and then both got shot by police (that part was on video but I’m unsure of the timeline. Both guys on the bridge had guns so I figured something like this but not sure.)
From what I've seen, they're already going after him for not shooting the shooter when he had the opportunity, saying something about him not wanting to shoot his fellow islamist or some shit. I saw it in a separate post somewhere. Fucking ridiculous attempt to besmirch this man's name and his heroic actions.
In our darkest hour - with hate threatening to divide us - Ahmed Al-Ahmed is the glue binding Australians together.
Thank you Ahmed. Your actions saved lives at Bondi yesterday, and I think you may have saved something precious about Australia as well.
They have free healthcare like most of the civilised world.
But there's also a Gofundme to help with his expenses till he can work again, cause obviously being shot in the arm + hand...not great for someone in a manual labour job.
I realize immigration is a loaded topic. Speaking as an immigrant to the U.S., a few thoughts that might be additive:
Every country has the right to keep immigration controlled and reasonable. That part isn’t radical.
If you don’t like immigration, fine. That’s a legitimate position. But if you slide from that into vilifying immigrants, you’ve probably been played by some political machinery that needs a villain more than it needs the truth.
People who uproot themselves and move to a completely different country have already passed through a serious “no fucks to give” filter. We leave behind family, familiarity, and safety nets. We arrive knowing we don’t have a home until we build one ourselves. That tends to kill any expectation of automatic belonging...and any real concern about being judged for not fitting in perfectly.
A lot of us also come from places where things others take for granted, e.g., safety, freedom, dignity, were fragile or flat-out impossible. When you finally get those things, you don’t treat them casually. You protect them hard. Often harder than locals who’ve never had to imagine life without them.
Put all that together, and some of this hero’s choices start to make a lot more sense.
Heavily underrated comment, saying this as a trans person trying to immigrate out of my middle eastern country.. If I manage to build a life in another country where I'm allowed to be myself, I'll protect it with my life.
I wonder what the Right will do with the fact that a Muslim man was a good immigrant citizen, just like they are here in the US. It doesn't match their narrative.
It's 5AM and I'm tearing up reading the comments from all over the world on his GoFundMe. What a legend. Uniting the world with an incredibly selfless and heroic act
My man. What a guy. You never know how you will react in that situation but I'm pretty certain I'm ducking out the opposite direction. Unlike this hero.
Usually we don’t allow post related to politics or sad topics, but we’re making an exception for this hero
His GoFundMe is here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/zbcjn-support-the-hero-who-disarmed-a-bondi-attacker
His GoFundMe has cracked $1M+
As it fucking should

Holy shit, that William Ackman donation.
Edit: He donated the maximum amount he could
What amount did he donate?
Edit:
HOLY FUCK
William Ackman $99,999 Top donation
Someone mentioned in a different comment that that is the most you can donate in Australia. Not sure if that's true but still nice to see the rich donating as well
So start another one then, he deserves the money. Chances are he will do something good with it.
I Mean the gofundme is just the pay for the heroic act. I feel like a few million is a deserved pay if you save a life. This Guy potentially saved a lot more lives. He can spend it all on hookers & blow for all I Care. He deserves it and it's his money unconditionally.
Even if he doesn't I think people are willing to let it slide lol.
jesus are you really shitting on somebody, that donated almost $100k, that they should’ve donated more?
He’s an American, a Hedge Fund Manager with a net worth nearing 10 Billion usd. Very happy to see the rich giving back too
Guy has $9.4bn, thats his version of chucking a fiver into the pot, but still great to see billionaires who actually try to help everyday heroes
How can we confirm this money will go to Ahmed Al Ahmed??
Genuine question. How do we make sure that money goes straight to him and the crowdfund is not set up by some random dude ?
I can’t donate much (the conversion rate sucks), but my man deserves more.
And since it’s not the US, it won’t be just for his medical bills!
It's at 1.2 mil right now with over 20k individual donations. The target amount is 1.7 million - will probably hit that within a few hours at this rate!
Edit: 24 hours later the current total is now 2.2 million and still going strong!!
It should hit 10+ so he can live nicely redt of his life. Thats a good reward instead of some stupid award people kept saying he should get
He's gonna need it, with those injuries he may struggle to work after this.
Aussie of the year
He's about to get the top honour that can be awarded to a civilian, his Go Fund Me was about 500k last I looked, and he's pretty much the most popular person in the country right now. His mum was just on the news and she was so damn proud of him.
Edit: over $1.3 million and rising.
$1.03 million currently
And he earned every cent :) <3
I think people forget that there was a good chance he didn't even get near the gun man and was just instantly shot and killed. A man risking his life for others like that is a legend.
Can nearly afford a house. It's almost the ultimate honour in modern Australia.!
Thoroughly well deserved.
Not on Bondi though 🤣
This gent is gonna have the busiest grocery store in Bondi going forward and he deserves it all. Such a shame he even had to put his life at risk in the first place though.
what's the name of his store? gotta show up for him
They're probably keeping it as quiet as possible to prevent too many well-wishers before he is back in action.
His store is in Sutherland, but he could probably open another in Bondi as well after this. He deserves all the luck and support in the world
Have read that apparently it sells out pretty often through someone on X, if this man drinks he’ll never have to buy a beer again in his lifetime.
He’s the definition of an Aussie hero.
keep donating then
fuck Bill ackman and his billionaire mafia.
but he chipped in 100k. he gets a mild pass for a few hrs.
Made sure his name was on it though.......
Damn I should be a hero
Just need to grab a gun off someone under gunfire.
It's up to 1.1M now! And he deserves every single cent of it.
How many lives he saved and what is that worth? Priceless but I’d say he should get enough money to never have to work again, live in a nice house in a safe area, and be able to provide for his children so they can attend any college in the world and become the kind of citizens the world needs.
Well... since you mention it...
In Judaism, it's held that saving a single life is akin to saving the entire universe.
And he saved a lot of people. So, many universes. Incalculable.
He thought he lived in a safe area. Just saying.
He should get some kind of medal, and all that the GoFundMe can bear.
If I had my way people from every where would be donating to the guy and we’d make him the world’s first trillionaire.
Rather see an actual hero get the title than some asshole corporate suit.
Humanity restored…
I'd rather trillionaires (or billionaires) just not exist at all.
U.S here... I'd say he's popular among anyone who sees the story. How can you not be? The bravery involved... the selflessness. An actual hero.
Agreed. He is a world wide hero. An example of unselfishness and bravery. We 10,000 more of him.
He could have ran and been safe. No one would have blamed him. But he chose to take a bullet for strangers.
He is a bright light on a dark day. Ahmed al-Ahmed's deeds will live in glory forever.
I bet she was beaming with pride!
He's gonna get such a large plate of his favourite food when he returns from hospital
Only the largest plates for this fella.
As well she should be, her son is a hero!
Only publicly. In private he's getting a thong (shoe, not underwear) to the head with a "How dare you scare me like that?!" in whatever language they speak at home.
Closely followed by the biggest hug of his life and a hearty dinner.
As well she should be, her son is a hero!
It was about a million when I checked a little bit ago!
I wouldn't be surprised if he's getting donations from admirers all around the world at this point.
Bill Ackman donated 100K
Australia’s top honour is officially never paying for beers
He's Muslim, so he already never has to pay for beers.
Some Muslims are pretty relaxed on that, much like Christians who have pre marital sex and Jews who dont follow kosher etc
Idk, he moved to Oz, the beeriest land in the world. That could be why.
'His mum was just on the news and she was so damn proud of him.'
Biggest reward/thing right there. She's proper chuffed over him. Awesomesauce.
Human of the year imo, or at least a contender. True empathy, compassion, and nobility don't recognize borders, religions, or personal features.
FIFA Peace Prize contender
And make previous winner award it
Hell no! We can't do that to this good man.
Fcking legend
Certified badass
Hope the beer money I sent to his go fund me has him covered for at least 6 months!
Can you link his go fund me? I too have beer money I’d love to donate!
ETA: I mean MY beer money lol
[removed]
The comments from donators is heartwarming. That’s what the world is really about.
Do you still need the link?
Yes please, if you’re willing to provide 🙏
This has the ones related to the whole tragedy:
https://www.gofundme.com/en-au/c/act/bondi-beach-shooting-fundraisers
Careful with the donation, the host of the gofundme is a car company and then there is a Zach which no one knows who the fuck he is.
The car company kicked in the first $50k. GoFundMe has stated they will only hand the money to Ahmed Al Ahmed.
This must be a super common name. Ahmeds, mobilise! Now is your chance!
Shouldn't be hard to spot the guy with the wounds in the arm
The host is a car company and Zach aka MD Motivator on TikTok who is well known for his gofundme fundraisers and has worked with them on multiple occasions
That’s super helpful to hear. When I saw multiple fundraisers for this man I was 👀. Too many scammers out there has made me so cynical.
Zach is lovely! mdmotivator is his Insta. He gives out loads of amazing things to people in need and from what I have read and seen is genuine. But, you are right to be cautious of Go fund me pages.
This guy is an absolute legend and I hope he gets all the accolades he so rightly deserves ❤️
1 of the reasons why I’m proud to be Australian. I had to donate because I could never in a thousand years imagine what it’s like to have balls so big
Amazing. Some dude donated $100,000!
"some dude" lol
fyi It's William Ackman. He's a billionaire investor and CEO.
Sounds like some dude to me
Yeah I'd never heard of him until this thread, but kudos to him for the donation
so technically he donated $100 in comparison to his wealth percentage.
Now he can buy a wheelbarrow for his giant gonads!
I just checked 5 minutes after this comment and it's over 1million now.
Thank you. Made a donation.
You’re a fucking legend! Wishing you a quick recovery
Braver than the whole Uvalde police force
That's a pretty fucking low bar
For there to be comparatively a “low bar”, there had to be a bar to begin with. Uvalde is seriously the singular biggest fucking cowardly police situation I have ever heard of.
My dog is braver than those cowards, and he's scared of flies.
Without a doubt
I will never forget the clip of one of the law enforcement men in that school hallway, dressed in his crisp button down shirt and khakis, casually walking over to use the hand sanitizer dispenser, all while shots were being fired at children in nearby classrooms.
No kidding. The police who responded at Bondi were very quick and very brave. I wish we could say the same about Uvalde, which was an acute national embarrassment (on top of the chronic national embarrassment of having mass shootings once a week or so).
AHMED EL AHMED that's a hero
His name means “Praised of the praised”.. and rightfully so!!
Yeah it does!!!!!
Lived up to his name!
So good they had to name him twice. Maybe he'll get a third one after this.
He's a good man 😭 I am so grateful to him
He was unable to get an MRI because of his balls of steel. Legend.
Like getting sucked by a giant magnet by your balls would stop this man.
Legend, his gofundme just cracked 1.1million. Dude deserves it. Loved seeing the interview with his parents, they are proud of their boy.
Speedy recovery good sir.
This legend needs to be nominated for the order of Australia.
Cross of Valor, Companion of the Order of Australia, Australian of the Year, Brownlow Medal. Give him everything.
Ahmed Al Ahmed! Our national hero
And this guy would not hesitate to step in again to help someone out. We are forever grateful for your courage.
Amazing! Is there also a GoFundMe for the families of the victims ?
https://www.charidy.com/supportsydney
Stay strong!
Such a legend it cant be said enough. Much love
Speak his name: Ahmed al Ahmed.
Is there a go fund me for the woman who shielded a 3 year old with her body after she had been shot? She had been shot and saw the kid and grabbed her to cover her with her own body
There's a go fund me for other victims of the shooting.
I haven’t seen one for Jess yet. GFM have a landing page: https://www.gofundme.com/en-au/c/act/bondi-beach-shooting-fundraisers
Oh man, seeing “in loving memory” there is just so fucking heartbreaking.
This is clearly a man worried about if his fruits are going to spoil, and if the person he got to take over is messing anything up. As someone whose family sells fruits, I know that look well. Rest up hero, you earned it.
Absolute legend with true Aussie spirit
This is the baddest mfker on planet earth, period.
A real hero. Hes actions should be celebrated all over the world.
How did he get shot? In the video I saw him grab the gun from the shooter and point it at him.
There were two shooters, the second shooter was on a walking bridge not far from where the first shooter was
So the second shooter shot our guy?
Yes. He was in the second shooters line of fire when he disabled the first.

If we do that, and do whatever small things we can for all those who will be feeling understandably afraid, society coheres where bad actors want it to splinter.
Very well said.
Yeah
I'm just glad our hero got shot in the arm. It's dreadful to imagine how differently it could have happened.
Extremely lucky yes, ten centimeters more to the left (from the shooter's perspective) and he probably wouldn't have made it.
(Ten centimeters is about six bald eagle toes, for the Americans.)
I cracked up about the bald eagle toes, thanks random person on the Internet, have a sweet day!
Did the guy he got the gun away from then run off to the bridge with his son and then get another gun and then both got shot by police (that part was on video but I’m unsure of the timeline. Both guys on the bridge had guns so I figured something like this but not sure.)
I think that is what happened, the guy that our hero disarmed went back to the bridge and picked up ANOTHER gun.
There were two shooters. The other guy shot him
Father and son according to reports
Fuckin hell
In the video you could see his shoulder go back and then him touching his bum/hip area and heard the gunshots.
Ahmed al Ahmed, the Most Praised One!
Rest well, King!!! ✊🏽. You are a fucking badass!!!
I’m so glad he is alright. I can’t imagine what his family went through as he could have gotten himself to safety rather than heroically intervening
Hell yes! I love that we're focusing on this hero instead of the culprits
While the Anzacs have long since gone, the spirit lives on with men such as this ♥️🇦🇺♥️
A good guy without a gun.
Not all superheroes wear capes. You’re a legend mate. Thank you for your heroism
His name is Ahmed al Ahmed. Fantastic guy!
The absolute balls of this man, to sneak up on an active shooter unarmed, that's some John McClane shit.
What a Great Citizen.. He’s going to be the spanner in the works of the Islamophobia Machine..
From what I've seen, they're already going after him for not shooting the shooter when he had the opportunity, saying something about him not wanting to shoot his fellow islamist or some shit. I saw it in a separate post somewhere. Fucking ridiculous attempt to besmirch this man's name and his heroic actions.
Or they just gonna ignore reality, they are good at that
they’re trying to claim he’s christian. ahmed comes from the name muhammed. it would be like a muslim naming their child christopher
Mad respect
Alhamdulillah
Will forever be immortalised as a hero to our nation and the people whose lives he saved. Man's a fucking badass and we love him! ❤🇦🇺
In our darkest hour - with hate threatening to divide us - Ahmed Al-Ahmed is the glue binding Australians together. Thank you Ahmed. Your actions saved lives at Bondi yesterday, and I think you may have saved something precious about Australia as well.
Legend
Ahmed the Legend.
Rest well, mate.
father of 2 - unbelievable, each time I'm losing faith in humanity, hero like him returns it :)
This guy is about to be Ahmed al-Ahmed (KBE) in addition to whatever other titles and decorations Australia bestows upon him. What a fucking legend.
Much better candidate for the top Peace Prize than the orange grifter
As an Aussie - the bloke deserves the CV and an AC but his medical bills are paid for by the tax payers. No need to get too American about that.
Also think of the French tourist and others who ran into the line of fire to get people out, not to mention first responders.
Legend 🖤
Amazing hero! Out there saving lives like a real life Ironman.
There's a gofundme as well for anyone interested
https://gofund.me/b0b66aa43
They had to reinforce the hospital bed to hold the weight of his gargantuan balls.
What a Hero. Much love to him from 🇨🇦♥️
Glad to see the ball reduction surgery went well. No one should have to lug those around all day
Dude looks the a Mafia Boss.
And if he isn't one, then some mafia should adopt him as their boss quickly.
Thought it was Tony Soprano for a sec
Get well hero,
We are hoping for a parade, and spending hundreds of dollars in your shop….
Doctors examined him and were not surprised to see that he carries 2/3 of his body weight in his testicles.
The ultimate humanist.
The fact that he lived makes me so happy man. Super glad I live in the same country as this legend.
"Look for the helpers."
I hope the government pays his expenses.
If the government covered me being drunk idiot cutting off some of my own thumb with an axe I’m sure this legend is covered under Medicare 🙂
We have free healthcare here it wouldn’t cost him anyway
I'll pay for his family's parking at the hospital
Now this is needed. Hospital carparks are a scourge
😂 Most American comment ever
It's Australia.
We all get free emergency care.
I'm sure this legend is getting well looked after.
Just like here in Brazil. Good to know that 🙂
In the land of the free you get a go fund me to cover medical bills.
In the land down under you get a go fund me to show you were a great human being.
They have free healthcare like most of the civilised world.
But there's also a Gofundme to help with his expenses till he can work again, cause obviously being shot in the arm + hand...not great for someone in a manual labour job.

Ahmed Al Ahmed will never pay for a beer himself again and right-fucking-fully so.
I'm not religious, but God bless that man.
I'm thankful that Ahmed and people like him exist in the world. I hope he has a speedy recovery.
It's 5AM and I'm tearing up reading the comments from all over the world on his GoFundMe. What a legend. Uniting the world with an incredibly selfless and heroic act
