Highjacking the top comment to say: for anyone that loves this song, listen to Long Road, the version by Eddie Vedder and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. It is one of my favourite songs of all time, and will remain so forever.
I knew this guy extremely well growing up - great musician and good guy. Was always so kind and incredibly talented at everything he touched. It was honestly so silly how ridiculously talented he was at anything he tried his hand at.
My understanding is that a few years ago he went all in on making music and it’s been going great for him! So cool to see him on here, haven’t talked to him in over 15 years - couldn’t happen to a more deserving guy.
Here is Ed Vedder , mike mccready and Jack Irons of The Pearl Jams with Rahat Ali Khan and some other mexicans singing their smash hit "long road" at a service for Nusrat Ali Khan
What an unbelievably great cover. The contrast is just perfection. I wonder if Radiohead / Thom ever caught wind of this version... I'd assume they'd enjoy this one.
There's a video where he explains the rendition that his mom is singing - it's about kanhaiyya and gopis and cows. It's beautiful! They have a lot of good covers. His mother is a trained Hindustani classical singer.
Creep is about a misfit who's saying that he doesn't belong here. Her version conveys a meaning that we all belong here. The juxtaposition is beautiful!
Raag - Bilawal.
Wow this guy (and his mom) are fantastic. He should also get together with Thievery Corp, they have a continuous retenue of different singers coming in to do their song.
Why is every Creep cover better than the actual song. Like the mashup on YouTube called “This Song Isn’t Creep” sounds a million times better than the song Creep
Beautiful singing from both of them, just lovely harmony between them.
I would love to know a few things;
What are estimates from experienced people, for how long would you have to train to get vocal range and skills developed like that?
As a native English speaker, I would love to know what the mom is singing. If anyone can share the name of the song and the meaning of the lyrics, I would be grateful.
So many Indian songs have a timeless feeling to them, just enchanting and mesmerizing to listen to.
Yeah this guy and his mom do lots of recordings. If memory serves she was a trained pro or semi-pro singer back in the day doing classical Indian music. I always enjoy their duet covers.
The way the mother looks at him. Like I've seen that exact look from my mother. "Like he's a lunatic but he's my lunatic that I made." 😭 Maybe it's a cultural thing but it's not pride but something more and so so rare

This is mesmerizing!!
It really was, both of their voices were so haunting. I am glad you enjoyed it as well!
Yes. Haunting, yet also warm.
as an indian and a radiohead fan since when it was considered weirdo music (atleast in india), thank you. i wish i could award this
Beautiful 🤩
🔥🔥🔥🔥

This comment warms my heart. They deserve it and seem like such humble people. Those voices would make a stone soften
That's so dope!

Gotta say, the dude has some lungs, as does his Mum. They do an uber-relaxing version of Coldplay's 'Yellow' here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwuEVFCDDXQ
I love how the video ends on the dog fast asleep on the couch. Maxing and relaxing.
Thanks!

Wow. That Coldplay cover. I don't even like that song that much but the layering of their voices is hauntingly beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing!
OMG with the tears and the stuff. Beautiful. Thank you for posting the whole thing and the link to their other work.
Thank you so much for this
Was gonna say he has good lung capacity to sing that line without sounding hoarse or cracking.
What an unbelievably great cover. The contrast is just perfection. I wonder if Radiohead / Thom ever caught wind of this version... I'd assume they'd enjoy this one.
It is gorgeous enough to interest him.
I always do wonder about artists lucky enough to have a song pass into legend though.
I used to ruin songs all the time by playing them too much. But at least I can just stop.
Ugh, the obligation to keep performing the same track decades on.
Honestly I am experiencing pure eargarsm, this is really beautiful
If I’m not mistaken, the band loathes this song. Maybe that’s changed somewhat in recent years.
I knew it was gonna bang. I unmuted when I saw her.
Gorgeous harmonies.
Goosebumps. Wow.
Couldn’t have said it better!!
Just lovely, the twists and turns she added were fantastic.
I agree, those contrasts were beautiful
What a blessing to share song with your mom. These are moments that will comfort him when his mom is no longer here.
Gave me all the feels, they’re both exceptionally talented
There's a video where he explains the rendition that his mom is singing - it's about kanhaiyya and gopis and cows. It's beautiful! They have a lot of good covers. His mother is a trained Hindustani classical singer.
So good and the dog at the end was such a cute surprise ☺️
Truly beautiful- WOW!! 🤩
Daaaaaaaamn that was mesmerizing.
He definitely inherited his mom’s talent. Wow!

This song has always been haunting to me, but this version is stunning.
Damn got me crying I miss my mom. Wheres the full version?
Actually the fusion music sounds amazing . Kudos to the mom and son team
Cool video fun thing to do with family.
So cool. Wish it was up on the music apps.
This would be very on brand for Johnny Greenwood and his band Junun.
Beautiful
Beautiful. The choice of her harmonies... is she singing another song, or just freestyling?
What a gift both of them have - such amazing singing skills and a beautiful bond.
Incredible!!
Music is in their genetics... keep rocking on
This is my most favorite Reddit post ever.
Wow!
This made me cry
This can give me chills on a hot day
Sensational
People.should.just make beautiful music and art instead of war and other terrible things.
This is my wish
I wish. The world would be such a better place
I wonder what it sounds like without the auto tune? It sounds beautiful, but the hard pitch correction is distracting.
Wow. Beautiful melding of voices on the perfect song.
Love it
Man that was beautiful in any language.
Damn son.
Wow how lovely 💜
That's beautiful.
Dang that’s really good
Realllly beautiful! Love the effects on the vocals. Who else is playing guitar? The strumming he is doing doesn’t match the sound/notes being played.
Drop that single son, would buy! So great!!!!
Haunting and beautiful.
I love this!
I've seen these two before. They have some absolutely magical covers and songs! I love the Indian Classical style. It's beautiful.
Cool!
This is brilliant and sounds fantastic. I hope this reaches the band
I follow him on a few different channels. Pretty much everything he (and his mum) perform are absolute bangers.
This gave me chills and is absolutely my favorite cover of this song I’ve ever heard!
Sounds absolutely ethereal. Gave me chills/goosebumps!
Would have never ever thought of this combination in a hundred years, so so cool!

Any time with your mom is great.
What a weird coincidence. I listened to this on loop yesterday.

My dog came over to lick the tears from my face bc I just started crying
Whew, what a fantastic combination the voices of this mother and son are
Yeah this guy and his mom do lots of recordings. If memory serves she was a trained pro or semi-pro singer back in the day doing classical Indian music. I always enjoy their duet covers.
I cover this song when I get the chance. I have a new goal: be as good as this. Even getting close would be an achievement. Beautiful cover.
The way the mother looks at him. Like I've seen that exact look from my mother. "Like he's a lunatic but he's my lunatic that I made." 😭 Maybe it's a cultural thing but it's not pride but something more and so so rare
Beautiful

Bill Bailey did a version of Creep he called "Hindi Indie" for his Tinselworm tour with a full Indian band of backing vocalists and musicians
I will always prefer the Jonathan Davis version of this song.

Link to their Youtube:
Meaning behind Mom’s lyrics makes this even greater and poignant. You are not a creep, you do belong..😊
