I got my MARPE installed last week and overall feeling pretty good. I’m on a slower turning protocol of every other day. My question is how are the turns supposed to feel like? I’ve only done 5 turns as of today and haven’t gotten a diastema which makes sense given how early it is, but I’ve noticed the majority of the sensation when I turn is a lot of pressure on the molars the arms are attached to. I also have been getting a slight dizziness that goes away within an hour which leads me to believe there is some bone expansion going on, but I’m worried I might be experiencing dental tipping?

  • As 39M without surgical, I felt tension around molars after every turn for at least a minute or so. It took 11 turns before I started feeling anything else, which started with weird sensation near incisors/midline, later tension around sinus, cheekbones, etc. At around turn 18 I felt pain in molars for just that turn.

I didn’t experience any dizziness, just some head aches during later turns before the suture split.

That said I wouldn’t worry about “dental tipping” specifically unless you’re noticing changes, especially asymmetrically. A good orthodontist will want to see you every couple of weeks or so to track your progress and catch those problems.

This makes me feel better haha. Glad you were able to split!

I had the same as above, but now with all the feeling of pressure concentrated on one molar so it definately seems like the pressure point can move around.
