Yes, it's normal, there are more situations that can't happen irl but they are normal too, if you wanna not feel pain you need certain level of dream control but it's hard even then
Usually if you ignore stuff inside the dream the stuff vanishes or you wake up
There are easier ways to change what is the dream about, for example try imagining something else and distract yourself by it or try to pour (that's not the right word, ik (feel what you should feel, concentrate on it, taste what you taste)) yourself into other imagined scenario
I have in nightmares. Dunno if it's normal though

It follows the logic of dreams. For example, you break your knee, you feel it.
