I have been trying to lucid dream for quite some time now, the most effective ways of lucid dreaming are way to complicated and disturbed to my sleep. For the past month I’ve been using the method of laying down, not moving and waiting for your body to fall asleep and a few nights ago this method worked, but I’m not sure how. I was able to stay awake long enough that my body fell asleep but I don’t know how I did that. So to get to the point, how do I make sure I don’t fall asleep until my body has? To keep my mind awake so my body thinks I’m sleeping.
I would also like to mention somethings. I have to have the tv on when I sleep so I’ve been trying to listen to that to keep me awake but it helps only a bit. I also sleep with a sleep mask so no lights get in. I have a fan on so I stay cool as I can’t sleep even slightly hot. Not sure if this matters but I thought I should include it.
Any help would be greater appreciated and any suggestions for easier ways to lucid dream would also be amazing! Thank you! 😊
Meditate. Breathe, focus everything you have on breathing.
Anotherone is to focus on the black behind your eyelids, then move your focus to tacile, like the feeling of your blanket. Then move to sound. Focus on your fan noises or a clock ticking. And just keep cycling
If you dont now how to meditate you should focus on intentions based teks first. Meditation is basically a requirement for all the ILDs
Wb2b can be an easy way if you dont want to put in the effort
Instead of trying to keep your mind active, wear your body out. Work in the yard until you're trudging, but do it with a clear mind as a meditative practice. Focus on labor and let your mind rest, then when you hit the bed your body will conk out and your mind won't be overworked needing silence as well.
WILD works best with WBTB, as doing WILD at the sleep onset does not do much. We go to deep sleep first before reaching optimal REM for dreams, doing WILD while sleeping will just keep you more alert and reduce the Deep sleep quality.
for lucid dreams, the conscious should get lower before increasing again at REM stage. like a dip.
i'd suggest to work on Dream Quality and Recall first if not reached yet. if you can't recall 1-2 dreams 4-5 times a week, trying lucid dreams would be like going on a slower path.
however, if you managed to stabilize dreams and have good recall, LUCIDNESS will be relatively easy.
I can't help you because I'm currently incompetent with lucid dreaming, but I wanted to ask you something to better understand what you're talking about: is the technique you practice (even if it's not a technique but a type of lucid dream) WILD?

This literally happens to be every night but results in sleep paralysis cause I panic.
How do I enter sleep paralysis?
It depends... But I simply need to try to fall asleep on my back, then I have around 70% chance to have sleep paralysis.
I suppose it's because for me sleeping on back is just very slightly uncomfortable and that keeps my mind awake, while the body goes into offline mode.
For it’s me realizing “oh shit, this is a dream, and now i can do whatever i want.” I don’t know what it’s like to start a dream lucid. Where would one begin? I’ve had one or two times where I’m lucid in my room then go from there but that is rare. Care to explain?
It's the same, I've had dreams where I had the deep intent of doing whatever before sleep. Actually experienced it and could recall
You ever start flying?! It’s my FAVORITE thing to do lol
I've never tried, I can't even move through stuff as yet😔
