From the guy who played a rapist game after game: “Go on the pitch you idiota. Go waste time there, not here”

Manager who leads by example proceeds to push his player who is seemingly “injured”.

  • 100 percent agreed, the manager’s attitude rubs off on the players.

    Undeniably.

Sure, I’m a Liverpool fan, but I can objectively say that we are far less bullshitty, fake and dramatic on the pitch compared to someone like Atletico Madrid, PSG, City, Chelsea, etc. Klopp would never want to win through dark arts, and Slot comes across in the exact same way.

So happy I’m not a fan of a team that spends 1/3rd of the game trying to win by means outside of genuine performance on the pitch.

To be honest, it always amazed me when fans of other clubs were like "Klopp, what a prick." I was like "Wait, seriously?" Not that he was perfect or unimpeachable (as much as we probably thought he was) but some people seemed to genuinely hate him more than other managers.

Well sometime being right can come off as being "righteous" , and can be a bad traits to some people, especially if those people are selfish pricks themselves.

Sometimes I wish we were at least a little bit dark arty. Nowhere near the extent that other teams are, but been a few occasions this season where staying on our feet hasn’t done us any favors either. Ekitike penalty shout recently, and even Kerkez getting knee’d in the stomach yesterday had he gone down it would likely been a foul and free kick.

I guess it’s more an indication of the state of the rest of the league whereby a foul doesn’t get called unless the player goes down

Yeah I mean Mo has been the epitome of fair play throughout his career. If he flopped or embellished every contact he receives, we’d get 15 more PK’s a year.

You are assuming those fouls/penalties would be called in our favor at any point. Good process and all.

Yeah of course, ignoring ref favoritism/bias/ignorance, call it what you want.

I remember Mo taking a dive a few years ago. It was so comically bad and overdone that it was just clear it’s never been part of his game. It was a parody of a dive more like.

It was a comment on the contemporary state of the game through the medium of dives. Very post-modern.

Didn't kerkez do some diving early on at Liverpool and slot took him off almost immediately.

Yea got a booking for it and with how he plays he was gonna get sent off

gabriel is a great defender but arteta's attitude and demeanor has rubbed off onto his players.

    shame really.

I mean the 'attitude' of doing everything to win a match doesn't seem completely negative.

We can say that about ours too tbf

How exactly in a negative way?

    Being too nonchalant at times

We all know what WC Virg would’ve done yday

We have gone from heavy metal football to soft rock

Not caring about what’s on the pitch

They obviously do care, don't be daft

Konate begs to differ over the past 3 months.

I would take non chalant over a complete arrogant prick any day

  • God I hate Arteta so much. Used to like Arsenal a bit but he’s made them into an absolute cunt of a team

So arrogant and has won nothing

He could have won lots of titles if only those other clubs hadn’t gone and got more points than the season before

    Are you taking the Mikel?

    thats how this works?

    sarcasm.

I believe Arteta has made a similar [dumb] point before

He’s an even more annoying version of Simeone.

Simeone is a shithouse but he knows it and owns it. Doesn’t hold it against anyone if he gets a taste of his own medicine.

Arteta is a shithouse but he wants everyone to think he’s some gentleman. Then cries foul when people play him at his own game.

Also, only one of those two managers support a rapist.

I think it also helps that Simeone's in another league. I don't think anyone was saying "he's not that bad" when he was at Anfield earlier this season. Though I agree - his shithousery is much funnier because it's SO over the top. He plays the villain so well - he only wears black, for God's sake!

Arteta could never do what Simeone did to us in 2020…

Thank you for that bitter reminder. Adriaaaaaaaaaan!

Literally one of our best performances under Klopp as well 😭

Firmino could buy a goal during that run. Should have had a hattrick.

When he finally scores, That happens.

Simone has at least won titles. Arteta hasn't, not yet anyways.

He also reminds me of Ted Bundy the serial killer.

I hope they bottle it again so so bad this season. Nobody wants to see City win another either but fuck me do I want this Arsenal team to get absolutely nothing

Please Lord don’t let him have the trophy this season 🙏🏻

If they win it, I'm making a petition that we all just unite as a global football fanbase and agree that this EPL year never happened and never mention or acknowledge it outside of how strange it was that we went straight from 24/25 to 26/27.

    [removed]

Has nothing to do with yesterday. I just don’t want the insufferable cunt that Arteta is to take the trophy - talk about a whinny little bitch

Holy moly, my lighthearted joke really rattled you, huh?

Trolling rival subs, whether it is posts or comments, with the sole purpose of taking the piss and/or antagonising users is not allowed. It makes our user base look childish and incapable of self-control, creates headaches for moderators, and inspires reciprocal trolling. Since this rule was instituted across club subreddits, we have seen a drop in trolling. Any links to rival subs have to be 'np.reddit' links.

The whining is non stop in this sub mate. Probably the same in the arsenal sub. All the big teams clubs online supporters are professional victims it seems. I watched the match with my arsenal supporting mate. Was a great game, very tense. Draw was fair. Agree with you what martinellli did was a shit go and a dog act but was heat of the moment stuff and I'm sure he felt awful once he found out Bradley was actually badly injured. And he did own it and apologise. What more can you ask? Fact is most players lying on the floor like that these days actually aren't hurt at all. Realistically it's a two horse race this season as I don't think Villa will stay in it. Hope your lot win it. Fuck city. Arteta is a bit of a twat but a very good manager.

Using the phrase "professional victims" is certainly a choice.

Prior to him transforming that club, I actually liked Arsenal as a entertaining club to watch (helped that we would regularly batter them). It wasn't immediate, but over the last couple years their players, fans, and manager have all become so fucking intolerable. Every whistle big or small, their players are flapping their arms at the ref. Every lull in the game, they are 'pumping up the crowd'. Arteta is worse than Klopp ever was with his sideline antics (granted Klopp probably abused the 4th official more lol) and this overall air of "It's our turn, we are owed success" from them.

I understand not wanting City to win, hell I never want City to win....but when they win it's meaningless. It's like having no winner because no one really cares. But fuck me if Arsenal win the title they will be insufferable. I also really love the idea of Arteta being there for a decade and never winning any silverware. This year is their best chance since so many normally strong teams are floundering a bit. The meltdown if they finish this season empty handed will be well worth another cheated City title.

"We are owed success" is exactly the right way to sum up their toxic attitude. They've become incredibly neurotic from being so success-starved despite performing well, and it's made them into one of the most incredibly unpleasant fanbases in the league. Just constant unearned arrogance from the manager down through to the fans.

Arteta also just has a smugness about him.

Its sad really, to go from the Wilshire goal and the Wenger era to now being Stoke with a Billion pound budget. Making City more likeable will be a bigger achievement than any title they bring home this year

Hes created a siege mentality. Bit like mourinho at Chelsea. You hate them but its working or nearly working.

Absolutely cringe worth pre game show, so very American styled and their singing is honestly abysmal.

The away fans out sung the while stadium for nearly the whole game yesterday

I've never liked Arsenal, the fans are so entitled. But Arteta has definitely ramped up the cunty in the last few years.

    Totally agreed

  • Even last night there was the perfect example of their attitude.

Frimpong was down injured and Arteta was waving his players forward on the attack but the moment an Arsenal player was down and we were on the attack he was straight in the fourth officials ear demanding the play be stopped. Then Saka eventually went down pretending to be hit in the face despite the ball hitting his hands.

    Cunts.

I don’t know why they’re seemingly allowed to surround the ref when other teams aren’t. They’ve been drilled to be absolutely merciless. I hope they win fuck all from it

Arteta has managed to absorb all the worst parts of Pep during his time with him. Unfortunately for him hasn't contracted the tendency to win titles.

At least pep has moments of joviality as well, arteta is just always a twat

Pep at least can be funny at times and has some personality. Arteta is just arrogant with none of the personality

I’d actually rather have city win the league than them and that’s saying something

Saka definitely got hit in the face lol.

That said I'm all for refs and players continuing on for non head injuries. Players could get up and walk it off but these days they're almost conditioned to stay down until the play it blown dead or the ball is kicked out. Cant expect sportsmanlike behavior in kicking it out if you're being insincere about your "injury".

Saka definitely got hit in the face lol.

He put his hands up in front of his face and blocked the ball with them. Maybe he punched himself in the face while doing so though. Definitely not enough impact to go down.

I'd love to find a replay but I can't. Because the replay during the broadcast I thought showed a pretty straightforward ball to the side of his cheek.

    It was definitely his hands

Even so it’s just ball to head instead of a contact to the head from another player.. not sure if play should be stopped just for that

Concussions are a thing that exists. So yes it should.

Though I kind of disagree that play can continue with other injuries. I know that they do not do it because it might be abused but then find a way to punish abuse. Either give yellows in case the player straight up can continue full throttle afterwards or maybe players for which play has to be stopped have to be outside of the pitch for x minutes even after a successful on field treatment. That should deter players enough to do that just to stop a opponents attack

  • Arteta deserved his yellow card last night - he's one of the worst managers for attitude and he'll probably go back into his defense/zero risk playing mode soon and cough up another title

Needs someone to go full Gareth Bale off the pitch run right into Artetas LEGO headed grid.

He did get yellow for never being in his box

I know. Read my comment - I said he deserved it

    another?

They meant coughing up as in shitting the bed.

Yes they’ve been sniffing around the title for a few seasons now but always implode because of Arteta’s mindset

  • This is for everyone saying it was handled correctly, and his apology was enough. This disgrace of a team and their antics don’t get punished enough. This wasn’t a heat of the moment incident, it’s been bred and reinforced in them season after season, and the referees themselves are allowing it - except of course when it’s a certain team that does anything remotely similar.

Martinelli did apologise, both privately and publicly.  He spoke directly to Conor and if he is willing to forgive him that's good enough for me.

They still should have banned him a game or two to make an example out of him but I'm not going to lose my mind over it.

He is still a prick though along with the rest of the Arsenal team, in particular their Lego headed manager.

that’s what i’m most pissed about. PL had a golden opportunity to make an example out of this. Pushing an injured player shouldn’t be tolerated. Ban him for a game.

He apologised cause he had to, as he was being criticised everywhere and even sky panelists suggesting Liverpool players should have assaulted Martinelli (How Sky are letting them away with that I dunno). Either way, Martinelli and his dickhead teammates would do the same thing again tomorrow because their manager is a lil bitch and being a dickhead starts with him.

in particular their Lego headed manager.

But Lego is cool though, I don’t want them to be associated to this cuntass twatwaffle

    "their Lego headed manager"

See this is what annoys me most about him. Surely he has an array of options each morning to choose from but just keeps going for the genetic black hair. Why doesn't he pop on a mullet or a wee yellow hard hat once in a while? Boils my piss.

He spoke directly to Conor and if he is willing to forgive him that's good enough for me.

That's fine. I can still dislike him and smile the next time someone clatters him.

  • After watching the footage a few times Bradley doesn't move to get on the pitch he tries to get up and falls down

  • Arteta is the kind of manager who goes out of his way to wave and gesticulate and scream when an opposing player is doing a throw in within 20m of the coaches box. Cunt.

  • Arteta is so unlikeable it's crazy

  • Oh my days I'm hating Arsenal twice as much because their attitude is making me hope City can win the league 😡.

  • Saw some comments on Gunners reddit that Bradley was rolling back to the field but he was always on the line and inner part of the field.. don’t know where they saw that rofl.

He only moved a little when he was clutching his knee in pain and Martinelli tried to kick him off the field.. imagine him making Conor’s injury even worse. Really makes me want them to bottle the league when I used to like their style of play.

  • Arteta is by far the cringiest manager ever, the lego headed twat

  • Again, why I want anyone but Arsenal to win it.  Have to go a long way to make me hate a team/club more than City or Utd at this current time but somehow Arteta did it.

This is absolutely it. I even used to kind of like Arsenal, but Arteta has turned this ship around hard. I really hope they bottle it Tottenham style.

One of my best friends is a City supporter - I told him yesterday that at the beginning of the day I was like "oh well, we'll see what happens" and now I'm like "I want you to win the league in the most heartbreaking way possible"

Or a collapse so spectacular we retain the title!

    Ah to dream.

I mean, yeah, that would obviously be ideal. But it would also require Arsenal AND City AND Villa to collapse and for us to play much, much better.

I could live with Aston Villa gatecrashing their two horse race

Oh, after us winning it, Villa winning it over both of them is obviously best case scenario. Could you imagine, after all of those years of Arsenal finishing second to us and City, they finish second to VILLA? Yeah, that would be great. Don't think it's happening, though.

I did say it was a dream!

And a beautiful dream it is.

  • I truly hope Arteta never wins a trophy as a manager.

  • To be honest, regardless of league position, I struggle to give a shit about them anymore. They’re just not worth being pissed off at. We’ve known what an Arteta team looks like for years now, and they can’t surprise me anymore. They’ll just cry about anything that doesn’t go their way.

  • Great example for the little kids watching the game huh…

  • Arteta is by far the most classless manager I can ever remember

    he learned from the best.

  • Roy Keane called it last night..."Martinelli is no stranger to rolling around on the ground himself."

  • Arteta is so slimy

  • Arteta is disgusting.

  • God I hope these absolute cunts bottle this. Will be the greatest bottle in the history of their bottles.

  • Shite club, manager, player and fanbase

  • Joke of a club atm.

    They are faux Atleiti.

  • Arteta is an absolute wanker.

  • I cannot imagine a single player playing under klopp doing what this scumbag did!

  • When martinellis leg gets broken no one will be crying for him, what a cunt

  • My head cannon has been that Arteta is just evil Xabi Alonso since I was about 8. Still hold up haha.

  • Really want Man City to win the title now and I think they will, but will be close but I am going for a win by a 2 to 3 point margin.

Aguero coming back from retirement and recreating his famous moment.

I mean a last minute heartbreak would be pure gold and so deserved for this unlikeable bunch.

I can't decide if another final day heartbreak would do more damage or an early spring collapse so monumental that they question if they were ever really in it.

Finishing out of top4 it is then! And 5th only getting them Europa League spot.

  • This is the true crux of the issue. Everyone in the world saw it and thought it was classless and distasteful. Martinelli was in the wrong and despite what he says, he knew what he was doing. Whether he thought it was time wasting or not, it was pure hypocrisy because Arsenal have been the primary candidate of time wasting and manipulative tactics outside of what the game should be. That’s been Arteta’s whole thing for nearly 3 seasons now but when another team does it to them (not time wasting in this scenario but just in general), they act like everyone is against them and oh woe is me.

Genuinely want anyone else to win the title outside of them because of what that club shows on a week by week basis.

Also to echo some others’ sentiments, I used to have a softer spot towards Arsenal out of the bigger clubs that rival us throughout the years. Arteta and this victim mindset that they have as a club, mainly inspired by him, makes me can’t stand them.

Agreed with both of you. I once thought of them as a decent club who still operate in a proper manner, but these last few years with Arteta and their incredibly vocal online fan base makes me hopeful they never win anything.

  • Arteta is a fucking spazz always and forever. Absolute helmet

  • Classless manager, players, and fans. Utter disgrace.

  • Hes a dirt bag, his only goal is winning but at the expense of his players careers and its exactly why he fails every single time

  • Difference is, Klopp would have screamed “Get the fuck up” unless other players had signalled that their was a serious problem.

But never, and i mean NEVER, would Klopp had aloud one of his players to ‘throw a ball’ & ‘push an injured player’ off the pitch.

Klopp would have punished that player if they would have done that and rightfully so

  • Used to respect arsenal as rivals but they’re becoming slimey.

  • Honestly at this point anyone but arsenal

  • Actively encourace dark arts in the game is such a spanish thing to do.

  • I thought it was wild that the kings of time wasting got mad at Liverpool three times for perceived time wasting. Early in the first Gabriel picked Wirtz up off the ground, the way the fans jeered Frimpong for the rest of the game for going down after being kicked, and lastly Martinelli. I really hate this team and I hope Arteta chokes this lead again

  • So Martinelli was just mad at himself

  • The culture at the club is beyond terrible. Rotten from the top down.

  • Lads, let it go. He's apologised to Conor, it was obviously a moment that reflects really poorly on the lad but he's still a person and repeatedly banging on about it isn't going to change anything.

Was a really stellar second half which had we had any of our attacking trio fit could have even gone better.

The likely champions are 1 from 6 against the reigning champions in a poor year.

  • Arteta is such a diva. He's not even Pep's best protege

  • Dirty tactics for a dirty club and its sad to say I'd prefer City to win since I always preferred Arsenal wins over the Manu days etc

  • Arteta has a face/attitude only a loving mother could hate

  • Surprise surprise i got downvoted in r/soccer for saying Arteta is okay with this sort of thing

  • Arteta is a cnut end of

  • arteta is a plastic cnt

  • Post this in r/soccer. I want to see the mental gymnastics

  • You can see where Martinelli's reaction came from. Loves to dish it out, complains when he's on the receiving end of it. Except in our case, Bradley was genuinely injured.

If there was a "Make a team unlikable" award, Arterta would win it easily.

It's precisely what separates him from the likes of Klopp, Pep, Emery and even Slot.

  • My partner says she dislikes Martinelli just by the look of him, this was two years ago. As time goes by, I too cannot stand the look of him for one reason or another. Dislike has now turned to hate after yesterday. Classless prat.

  • Is there a reupload somewhere?

  • I'm sure arteta wears a wig! His hair never seems to grow, never seems to have been cut, never moves in the wind!

  • [ Removed by Reddit ]

  • precisely why he is a scumbag.

He projected himself in Connor, thinking Bradley was a scam artist like himself.

  • Arteta is so unlikeable, it's unreal. Even his voice grates me.

  • We do shit things in the heat of the moment, everyone does this. That's a complete jack arse move tho. There may be reconciliations between them privately...

I was fuming when watching it ..

  • Okay but real talk does Arteta have the worst haircut out of all the managers in the top 5 leagues?

  • OP, what rapist was he playing?

    Thomas Partey

    Ahhhh, right 👎🏼

  • I'm gonna get downvoted but what Aretrta did in that clip was smart and also hilarious. I don't understand why people are hating on that.

I vividly remember reading tweets and Reddit posts and everyone found it funny and some shithousery

If the CPS press charges, they believe there's sufficient evidence for chance of conviction.

You wouldn't find many good men being charged for rape.

  • This shit is why no one likes liverpool fans

  • You guys are milking this situation too much. He thought the guy was time wasting, like it happens a lot. He made a mistake. He apologized. Everybody accepted. End of story.

Literally kicking a man when hes down is not acceptable
