[Liverpool FC] Well in, Milos šŸ’Ŗ Your @carlsberg Player of the Match šŸ†

My fav moment was when he tricked Saka who then kicked him in the chest but nevermind that couldn’t stop Milos.😁

    Big up Kerkez

    parent root
    64 points DreamCaster2810

How tf did this not get a yellow. These refs ffs.

    parent root
    17 points RodDryfist

Because Kerkez didn't go down rolling about like other players do. No theatrics, no yellow.

    parent root
    5 points 50YOYO

Absolutely spot on, I can think of a few players on the opposing team that would still be rolling about if it were them!

    parent root
    81 points Adventurous_Toe_6017

Ran off holding his ribs. Another example of them getting away with murder.

    parent root
    50 points Beneficial-Steak-117

And no yellow card for Saka. I swear Arse keep getting favours from the ref now that they are title challengers. Amount of fouls and time wasting that goes unpunished is profound

    parent root
    6 points jvcarreira

It’s probably because of the incessant complaining last season. Even with no conspiracy, it makes referees cautious and kind of biased in that sense

    parent root
    2 points thatlad

    VARsenal?!?

    parent root
    8 points Yapper0309

Its annoying how often our players get punished for not going down at contact.

    parent root
    2 points Remarkable_Art5653

    He's like a tank!

    parent root
  • 458 points RobWyliesDad

He struggled the first 20 minutes or so but then really came alive and completely shut down Saka.

    Happy for him.

    parent
    31 points getonthedamnantscott

To be fair to the guy as well, Saka is a fantastic player who can turn even the best full backs inside out. Really hope he pushes on and becomes the player we all want him to be, he has been getting better.

    parent root
    37 points Correct_Yesterday111

Yep I had a sinking feeling in the first half. I've been critical of the guy cos he's been pretty shit so far but he did really well in the second half and deserves the plaudits. Let's hope he kicks on.

    parent root
    65 points kukaz00

Ā he's been pretty shit so far

calling him shit is some really plastic fan stuff if you ask me, he's been good and great sometimes.

do you really think that it's a coincidente that he's great whenever cody is off or doing striker work ?

and VVD really lately learned to cover for him when he overlaps, cody doesn't pass to him and loses the ball

    parent root
    1 points LoveBeBrave

    Gakpo played yesterday mate.

    parent root
    1 points kukaz00

    Not as a winger tho

    parent root
    1 points LoveBeBrave

Well nominally he was a winger, in reality he was playing as a second left back.

He certainly wasn’t playing as a striker, if that’s what you’re suggesting. We played wirtz as a false nine, Gakpo barely moved from the left touchline.

    parent root
    2 points kukaz00

No, I watched the game, Gakpo put in a good shift with a bit of his classic specials but not too much. But we barely focused on that flank (as Saka was there and had to be defended) and we bombed the right one with Frimpong. Speaking about it, Trossard was kinda invisible offensively, I was expecting him to score honestly

    parent root
    0 points wihannez

    Might as well not.

    parent root
    1 points LoveBeBrave

Gakpo is the reason Kerkez was able to defend saka 1v1, instead of 1v2 against Saka and Timber.

    parent root
    1 points wihannez

I mean it could’ve been actual defender instead as he was useless in attack.

    parent root
    1 points LoveBeBrave

Who? You want slot to play four full backs?

    parent root
    0 points wihannez

The tea lady as far as I care, Gakpo is where attacks go to die atm.

    parent root
    -2 points Luke_4686

Shit is harsh but he has been very underwhelming. Definitely one of the weakest first team regulars this season overall

    parent root
    7 points PursuitOfMemieness

I really strongly disagree with this. I’d say of players who’ve had significant minutes Konate, Mac Allister, Salah, and Gakpo have all certainly been worse. That’s a significant chunk of the starting 11. You can add Isak to that if you think he’s played enough.

Kerkez also has the disadvantage of being a new player, and you can see significant improvement in his performances through the season, which is more than can be said for the others mentioned.

    parent root
    6 points kukaz00

He's not underwhelming, he's just been caught too much at the other end of the field because he overlaps and Cody has the awareness of a donkey when it comes to playing a progressive pass. Unless Slot instructs him to cut inside and shoot into defenders all the time.

This has turned into a Gakpo slamming but I am still trigger by Slot calling him "one of the best wingers in the world". More like one of the wingers in the world.

    parent root
    0 points Obvious_Wizard

Unless Slot instructs him to cut inside and shoot into defenders all the time.

Forgot to adjust his pre-match team instructions on Football Manager.

Like when Dyche used to forget to remove Andre Gomes from free kick duty.

    parent root
    1 points Yipsta

2nd half was solid. I would like him to be a bit more adventurous on the ball, he always seems to look back to vvd or Alison

    parent root
  • 329 points ArneSlotMachine

He was great today. He reminded me of the Kerkez of Bournemouth. Dynamic and legged it down the wing as well as tracking back and making strong tackles. Hopefully this is him settling in now and we get to see some more of this

    parent
    94 points Necessary--Weevil

He fucking hates arsenal as much as we do

    parent root
    39 points ksuvuelalfusuwnsl

Not bad for ā€œDarwin Nunez at left backā€

    parent root
  • 120 points holeinmyboot

clown in the match thread earlier said there was probably a league two team that could use him. state of some of the ā€œsupportersā€ that exist only to moan about their favorite targets.

    parent

Lol match thread is jokes , its like full of drunken people in the pub

Our fans been having a meltdown lately it's been unbearable

    parent root
    5 points PostNeoSankaraism

Remember seeing this because I remember it was at the most insane time possible, he had just defended really well lol

    parent root
    5 points KetoKilvo

There's about 24 teams in league two who would take him.

    parent root
    4 points Salty_Intention81

I hate the match threads these days.

    parent root
    0 points secrtlevel

Not that guy, but I'm still a little bummed about Robbo getting snubbed in every game. Kerkez had a great game, but they weren't all like this so far this year.

    parent root
    0 points LoveBeBrave

You’re projecting. Is robbo getting ā€œsnubbedā€? You’re attributing your own personal feelings to the situation with no knowledge of how Robertson actually feels about it.

    parent root
    0 points secrtlevel

Ah, yes, I'm sure he's ecstatic about being on the bench.

    parent root
    0 points LoveBeBrave

So in your world there’s only ā€œecstaticā€ and ā€œsnubbedā€? Not the vast, vast range of emotions in between that are much more likely?

    parent root
  • 32 points Same_Negotiation6293

He got that dawg in him

    parent
  • 83 points VictorZZZ26

He can go home and empty his pocket of Saka. Just make sure there’s some tissues cause he will be rolling on the ground crying.

    parent
  • 36 points Sambadude12

Deserved. He was class today. Just really hope he builds on that and keeps putting in the work

    parent
  • 37 points golfif

The peacock commentator was bashing this guy every time he touched the ball like he was a Sunday league player or something.

But Arsenals LB, Lewis Skeleton comes on and throws the most dog shit performance ever and they say nothing. Stupid thing to talk about I know, but it was actually pissing me off

    parent
    12 points ForeignScouser

Yes, they were very critical of his positioning too. They claimed he was leaving too large a gap only to immediately point out that Gakpo was covering the space in between Kerkez and Van Dijk

    parent root
    9 points PanDulcePrince

Media narratives do crazy things to player reputation, literally nothing will be good enough in their eyes once they've decided to write the player off. Even when the evidence of a good game was right on display

    parent root
  • 24 points strider3187

    He was fantastic today.

    parent
  • 10 points Charming-Gur-2934

Darwin Nunez putting in a shift at LB!

    parent
  • 10 points d70

A clean sheet is a clean sheet. We should celebrate, but, man, I wish that Bradley chip had gone in.

    parent
    3 points jbot14

    Bradley chip or cobra strike!

    parent root
  • 9 points hardinho

I criticized him quite a lot these past few months, but today he's been really great. Hope he can keep it up.

    parent
    3 points Correct_Yesterday111

Yeh same but he had Gakpo standing on the corner of the penalty box backing him up. So it was a great team effort on the left hand side to neutralise Timber and Saka.

    parent root
  • 9 points Dirty-Little-Slot

The commentators on Peacock were savaging him after Saka beat him one time. Then he shut them up for the rest of the match

    parent
  • 7 points julesharvey1

Good for him. Been getting a little of stick from fans on here. Will give him a good confidence boost hopefully

    parent
  • 6 points Deeco7

    People forget he’s only 22.

    parent
  • 3 points raziel_beoulve

He's remembering his level from Bournemouth. being we had no firepower on top I'm glad with the point and clean sheet, hope Bradley is back soon

    parent
  • 9 points cian_pike01

Fucking love Milos man, he’s such a baller for us.

    parent
  • 8 points rupertwiley

Did his dad threaten the FA if they didn’t give it to him?

    parent
    11 points cian_pike01

Stood outside their HQ in London just shouting Balkan curse words at them

    parent root
  • 2 points teropaananen

Well deserved! Great to see him do well!

    parent
  • 2 points -ibgd

Too bad him and Gakpo are on different planets.Ā

    parent
  • 2 points narilarilum

Massiv from Milos! Defensively solid and did much more going forward than Gakpo.

    parent
  • 2 points giuocomane

This has got to be the fan vote one right?

    parent
  • 4 points WaifuWarrior18

Deserved, fuck those clowns in the match thread slagging him off

    parent
  • 0 points ButlandAndRobben

He had a good game, probably his best for us. I probably would've gone with Gravenberch or Dom though.

    parent
    3 points Fun-Ad5619

    Dom???

    parent root
    2 points ButlandAndRobben

Yes? Dom taking a more active role on the ball in the centre of the park was instrumental for us imo.

    parent root
    1 points HatsonHats

you could see him barking orders on the attack and linking up with wirtz a lot. although they kinda stepped into each other a few times lol. Maybe the plan was for Dom to act like an anchor for wirtz in the mid field and control the offensive build up when we have possession.

    parent root
  • 1 points Sophiiebabes

    This'll be great for him!

    parent
  • 1 points KeegsNW

Yes lad! Been rooting for him from day one. Still has flaws to his game but he gives 100% and has everything he needs to be a great player for this team.Ā

    parent
  • 1 points Carradona

He’s got that dawg in him

    parent
  • 1 points TravisKOP

Our Hungarian boys put in work

    parent
  • 1 points BudovicLagman

Reminded me of one of Robbo's earlier appearances for us, I've forgotten who was the opponent. He got dribbled past once and then made sure that it never happened again for the rest of the match.

Says a lot when Saka was ineffective for so long that he had to be taken off. Milos has looked really good in his last few appearances, even before Carra's daft comments about him. We just need him to get more support in the final third when our attackers start coming back.

    parent
  • 1 points IvanFrigellov

Great performance - Schmeichel said Slot should sub him at half time lol.

I just now wish at least 1 in 10 final passes or crosses finds a Liverpool player rather than getting blocked. That is still sorely missing

    parent
  • 1 points Josie_Cit

He is getting there. Hope he keeps up the good work.

    parent
  • 1 points totaleclipse2

Fantastic second half. When he finds the confidence he had last season we will start to see the end product in a creative sense that we know he has!

    parent
  • 1 points Liverpupu

My pick would be Frimpong but nevertheless.

    parent
  • 1 points cococream

I can’t believe what I’m reading in this thread.. what has happened at Liverpool

    parent
  • 1 points Beginning-Suit-4535

    He was a machine yesterday!

    parent
  • 1 points L_Watson4

He's quickly becoming one of my favourites because he's got that fight and grit in him something that this team has been missing

    parent
  • 1 points kt19o0

I must have been watching a different game. Especially with him going forward. Saka was running rings around him early on and then he made a few decent tackles but Saka was just quiet in the second half. Going forward he's so poor. Always wants to pass the ball sideways and never makes any good runs to pull defenders with him

    parent
  • 1 points andreasmodugno

He was better than he has been but he was not the Player of the Match.

    parent
  • 0 points Pimp-Juggernaut21

I was annoyed with the the peacock crew saying he was getting dogged by Saka when it was the opposite. He turned him into a sub and locked down his replacement. His abundant energy works in cases like this.

    parent
  • 0 points PabloRothko

He’s low key been one of our most consistent players the last month

    parent
  • 0 points FatBazzz

He was good after the first 20/25 minutes but MOTM for someone who got destroyed in that early period is a stretch. There was better performances!

    parent
  • 0 points bobsimusmaximus

    This šŸ™

Just need Gakpo to start passing the ball to him and he will be flying it

    parent
  • -1 points cbaek

    Nunez Nunez Nunez šŸŽ¶

    parent
  • -1 points Turin6

Yesterday's performance of Konate and kerkez makes me wonder what would have happened this year if they were just solid enough week in week out, instead of their consistent underperformance they have all year.

    parent
  • -7 points NoncingAround

Absolutely don’t agree with this tbh. Van Dijk and konate were both very solid defensively and didn’t share the disastrous performance with the ball that Kerkez had. His crosses in particular are still completely shite.

    parent
  • -29 points Not_James_Milner

Did we watch the same match? He was dreadful in the first half and mediocre at best in the second.Ā

    parent
    17 points BoringPhilosopher1

    No you didn’t then.

    parent root
    5 points Icy_Assumption791

Saved us a goal in the first half with that block from Saka

    parent root
    6 points holeinmyboot

so many Arsenal supporters saying he had Kerkez on skates, like when he cut back and forth four times in a row, and…. passed it back because he couldn’t get past Kerkez.

    parent root
    10 points Specific-Record2866

    Maybe football isn’t for you

    parent root
    2 points holeinmyboot

    apparently not mate

    What a strange comment

    parent root
