And no yellow card for Saka. I swear Arse keep getting favours from the ref now that they are title challengers. Amount of fouls and time wasting that goes unpunished is profound
To be fair to the guy as well, Saka is a fantastic player who can turn even the best full backs inside out. Really hope he pushes on and becomes the player we all want him to be, he has been getting better.
Yep I had a sinking feeling in the first half. I've been critical of the guy cos he's been pretty shit so far but he did really well in the second half and deserves the plaudits. Let's hope he kicks on.
Well nominally he was a winger, in reality he was playing as a second left back.
He certainly wasnāt playing as a striker, if thatās what youāre suggesting. We played wirtz as a false nine, Gakpo barely moved from the left touchline.
No, I watched the game, Gakpo put in a good shift with a bit of his classic specials but not too much. But we barely focused on that flank (as Saka was there and had to be defended) and we bombed the right one with Frimpong. Speaking about it, Trossard was kinda invisible offensively, I was expecting him to score honestly
I really strongly disagree with this. Iād say of players whoāve had significant minutes Konate, Mac Allister, Salah, and Gakpo have all certainly been worse. Thatās a significant chunk of the starting 11. You can add Isak to that if you think heās played enough.
Kerkez also has the disadvantage of being a new player, and you can see significant improvement in his performances through the season, which is more than can be said for the others mentioned.
He's not underwhelming, he's just been caught too much at the other end of the field because he overlaps and Cody has the awareness of a donkey when it comes to playing a progressive pass. Unless Slot instructs him to cut inside and shoot into defenders all the time.
This has turned into a Gakpo slamming but I am still trigger by Slot calling him "one of the best wingers in the world". More like one of the wingers in the world.
He was great today. He reminded me of the Kerkez of Bournemouth. Dynamic and legged it down the wing as well as tracking back and making strong tackles. Hopefully this is him settling in now and we get to see some more of this
clown in the match thread earlier said there was probably a league two team that could use him. state of some of the āsupportersā that exist only to moan about their favorite targets.
Not that guy, but I'm still a little bummed about Robbo getting snubbed in every game. Kerkez had a great game, but they weren't all like this so far this year.
Youāre projecting. Is robbo getting āsnubbedā? Youāre attributing your own personal feelings to the situation with no knowledge of how Robertson actually feels about it.
The peacock commentator was bashing this guy every time he touched the ball like he was a Sunday league player or something.
But Arsenals LB, Lewis Skeleton comes on and throws the most dog shit performance ever and they say nothing. Stupid thing to talk about I know, but it was actually pissing me off
Yes, they were very critical of his positioning too. They claimed he was leaving too large a gap only to immediately point out that Gakpo was covering the space in between Kerkez and Van Dijk
Media narratives do crazy things to player reputation, literally nothing will be good enough in their eyes once they've decided to write the player off. Even when the evidence of a good game was right on display
Yeh same but he had Gakpo standing on the corner of the penalty box backing him up. So it was a great team effort on the left hand side to neutralise Timber and Saka.
you could see him barking orders on the attack and linking up with wirtz a lot. although they kinda stepped into each other a few times lol. Maybe the plan was for Dom to act like an anchor for wirtz in the mid field and control the offensive build up when we have possession.
Yes lad! Been rooting for him from day one. Still has flaws to his game but he gives 100% and has everything he needs to be a great player for this team.Ā
Reminded me of one of Robbo's earlier appearances for us, I've forgotten who was the opponent. He got dribbled past once and then made sure that it never happened again for the rest of the match.
Says a lot when Saka was ineffective for so long that he had to be taken off. Milos has looked really good in his last few appearances, even before Carra's daft comments about him. We just need him to get more support in the final third when our attackers start coming back.
I must have been watching a different game. Especially with him going forward. Saka was running rings around him early on and then he made a few decent tackles but Saka was just quiet in the second half. Going forward he's so poor. Always wants to pass the ball sideways and never makes any good runs to pull defenders with him
I was annoyed with the the peacock crew saying he was getting dogged by Saka when it was the opposite. He turned him into a sub and locked down his replacement. His abundant energy works in cases like this.
Yesterday's performance of Konate and kerkez makes me wonder what would have happened this year if they were just solid enough week in week out, instead of their consistent underperformance they have all year.
Absolutely donāt agree with this tbh. Van Dijk and konate were both very solid defensively and didnāt share the disastrous performance with the ball that Kerkez had. His crosses in particular are still completely shite.
so many Arsenal supporters saying he had Kerkez on skates, like when he cut back and forth four times in a row, andā¦. passed it back because he couldnāt get past Kerkez.
My fav moment was when he tricked Saka who then kicked him in the chest but nevermind that couldnāt stop Milos.š

Big up Kerkez
How tf did this not get a yellow. These refs ffs.
Because Kerkez didn't go down rolling about like other players do. No theatrics, no yellow.
Absolutely spot on, I can think of a few players on the opposing team that would still be rolling about if it were them!
Ran off holding his ribs. Another example of them getting away with murder.
And no yellow card for Saka. I swear Arse keep getting favours from the ref now that they are title challengers. Amount of fouls and time wasting that goes unpunished is profound
Itās probably because of the incessant complaining last season. Even with no conspiracy, it makes referees cautious and kind of biased in that sense
VARsenal?!?
Its annoying how often our players get punished for not going down at contact.
He's like a tank!
He struggled the first 20 minutes or so but then really came alive and completely shut down Saka.
Happy for him.
To be fair to the guy as well, Saka is a fantastic player who can turn even the best full backs inside out. Really hope he pushes on and becomes the player we all want him to be, he has been getting better.

calling him shit is some really plastic fan stuff if you ask me, he's been good and great sometimes.
do you really think that it's a coincidente that he's great whenever cody is off or doing striker work ?
and VVD really lately learned to cover for him when he overlaps, cody doesn't pass to him and loses the ball
Gakpo played yesterday mate.
Not as a winger tho
Well nominally he was a winger, in reality he was playing as a second left back.

Might as well not.
Gakpo is the reason Kerkez was able to defend saka 1v1, instead of 1v2 against Saka and Timber.
I mean it couldāve been actual defender instead as he was useless in attack.
Who? You want slot to play four full backs?
The tea lady as far as I care, Gakpo is where attacks go to die atm.
Shit is harsh but he has been very underwhelming. Definitely one of the weakest first team regulars this season overall
I really strongly disagree with this. Iād say of players whoāve had significant minutes Konate, Mac Allister, Salah, and Gakpo have all certainly been worse. Thatās a significant chunk of the starting 11. You can add Isak to that if you think heās played enough.

Forgot to adjust his pre-match team instructions on Football Manager.
Like when Dyche used to forget to remove Andre Gomes from free kick duty.
2nd half was solid. I would like him to be a bit more adventurous on the ball, he always seems to look back to vvd or Alison
He was great today. He reminded me of the Kerkez of Bournemouth. Dynamic and legged it down the wing as well as tracking back and making strong tackles. Hopefully this is him settling in now and we get to see some more of this
He fucking hates arsenal as much as we do
Not bad for āDarwin Nunez at left backā
clown in the match thread earlier said there was probably a league two team that could use him. state of some of the āsupportersā that exist only to moan about their favorite targets.
Lol match thread is jokes , its like full of drunken people in the pub
š best way to describe it š
Our fans been having a meltdown lately it's been unbearable
Remember seeing this because I remember it was at the most insane time possible, he had just defended really well lol
There's about 24 teams in league two who would take him.
I hate the match threads these days.
Ah, yes, I'm sure he's ecstatic about being on the bench.
So in your world thereās only āecstaticā and āsnubbedā? Not the vast, vast range of emotions in between that are much more likely?
He got that dawg in him
He can go home and empty his pocket of Saka. Just make sure thereās some tissues cause he will be rolling on the ground crying.
Deserved. He was class today. Just really hope he builds on that and keeps putting in the work
The peacock commentator was bashing this guy every time he touched the ball like he was a Sunday league player or something.

He was fantastic today.
Darwin Nunez putting in a shift at LB!
A clean sheet is a clean sheet. We should celebrate, but, man, I wish that Bradley chip had gone in.
Bradley chip or cobra strike!
I criticized him quite a lot these past few months, but today he's been really great. Hope he can keep it up.
Yeh same but he had Gakpo standing on the corner of the penalty box backing him up. So it was a great team effort on the left hand side to neutralise Timber and Saka.
The commentators on Peacock were savaging him after Saka beat him one time. Then he shut them up for the rest of the match
Good for him. Been getting a little of stick from fans on here. Will give him a good confidence boost hopefully
People forget heās only 22.
He's remembering his level from Bournemouth. being we had no firepower on top I'm glad with the point and clean sheet, hope Bradley is back soon
Fucking love Milos man, heās such a baller for us.
Did his dad threaten the FA if they didnāt give it to him?
Stood outside their HQ in London just shouting Balkan curse words at them
Well deserved! Great to see him do well!
Too bad him and Gakpo are on different planets.Ā
Massiv from Milos! Defensively solid and did much more going forward than Gakpo.
This has got to be the fan vote one right?
Deserved, fuck those clowns in the match thread slagging him off
He had a good game, probably his best for us. I probably would've gone with Gravenberch or Dom though.
Dom???
Yes? Dom taking a more active role on the ball in the centre of the park was instrumental for us imo.
you could see him barking orders on the attack and linking up with wirtz a lot. although they kinda stepped into each other a few times lol. Maybe the plan was for Dom to act like an anchor for wirtz in the mid field and control the offensive build up when we have possession.
This'll be great for him!

Heās got that dawg in him
Our Hungarian boys put in work

Great performance - Schmeichel said Slot should sub him at half time lol.
I just now wish at least 1 in 10 final passes or crosses finds a Liverpool player rather than getting blocked. That is still sorely missing
He is getting there. Hope he keeps up the good work.
Fantastic second half. When he finds the confidence he had last season we will start to see the end product in a creative sense that we know he has!
My pick would be Frimpong but nevertheless.
I canāt believe what Iām reading in this thread.. what has happened at Liverpool
He was a machine yesterday!
He's quickly becoming one of my favourites because he's got that fight and grit in him something that this team has been missing
I must have been watching a different game. Especially with him going forward. Milos said ^
Nah, not Man of the Match. Szobo was a stand out
He was better than he has been but he was not the Player of the Match.
I was annoyed with the the peacock crew saying he was getting dogged by Saka when it was the opposite. He turned him into a sub and locked down his replacement. His abundant energy works in cases like this.
Heās low key been one of our most consistent players the last month
He was good after the first 20/25 minutes but MOTM for someone who got destroyed in that early period is a stretch. There was better performances!
This š
Just need Gakpo to start passing the ball to him and he will be flying it
Nunez Nunez Nunez š¶

Did we watch the same match? He was dreadful in the first half and mediocre at best in the second.Ā
No you didnāt then.
Saved us a goal in the first half with that block from Saka
so many Arsenal supporters saying he had Kerkez on skates, like when he cut back and forth four times in a row, andā¦. passed it back because he couldnāt get past Kerkez.
Maybe football isnāt for you
apparently not mate
What a strange comment
You need to start playing football sir.
