  • ChatGPT can insert the knife, but can it twist it?

True cruelty requires a human touch

You need the ability to be able to empathise and then use that to make the stab even more brutal.

I know exactly how challenging your situation is and that this comes at the worst possible time.

and I’m fucking doing it anyway

  • They’re not WRONG that a real person is leagues better than AI for giving bad news. But maybe don’t fire someone who’s already in that bad a situation and have some goddamn empathy, don’t just perform empathy.

Usually, sure. But if the person in question is willing to take someone's life-crushing problems to LinkedIn to score points for how "human" she is, I think ChatGPT would probably do a better job with a better prompt. Here's what it did with a 1-paragraph prompt that accurately describes the situation.

    Dear [Name],

I want to start by saying that this is a difficult letter to write, and not one that reflects lightly made decisions. I know how much responsibility you carry, how much you give, and how hard you have worked to provide for the people who depend on you.

After a great deal of consideration, we have made the decision to end your employment with [Company], effective [date]. This decision is based on the overall needs and direction of the organization, and it does not erase the effort, commitment, or integrity you have shown during your time here.

I also want to acknowledge that this comes at a time when life has not been easy. While I won’t attempt to speak for what you are carrying, I recognize that you have been navigating far more than most people would ever admit or show. Your professionalism and perseverance during challenging circumstances have not gone unnoticed.

We know this transition may place a real strain on you, and that is something we take seriously. To help ease the immediate impact, we are providing [severance details, benefits continuation, references, outplacement support, etc., if applicable]. If you would like assistance with next steps, references, or resources, please know that we are willing to help where we can.

This decision is not a judgment of your worth or your character. It is simply the result of factors that extend beyond any one person. You have skills, strengths, and resilience that will matter deeply in the next place you land, even if it doesn’t feel that way right now.

If you would like to talk, ask questions, or need clarification about anything in this letter, my door remains open. I genuinely wish you stability, dignity, and better days ahead, and I hope that, in time, this moment will prove to be a turning point rather than an ending. Thank you for the work you have done and the effort you brought with you every day. With respect,

    [Your Name]
    [Title]
    [Company Name]
    [Contact Information]

Well, it certainly did better than whatever this woman was trying to do...

  • I'm actually quite sure ChatGPT actually WOULD do a better job than her.

"ChatGPT, help me write a letter firing a primary breadwinner who recently lost a child and is already struggling emotionally and financially."

    ChatGPT: ...dude, wtf

So, I put your quote into ChatGPT. First, it recommends just giving the person light duties and time to grieve, but then provides the termination letter:

Sample termination letter (compassionate and professional)

Kind of scary that AI actually advises the more human approach than the LI Lunatic.

I ran this through perplexity.ai and you are SO RIGHT:

It is not appropriate to draft or role‑play a letter firing a primary breadwinner who has just lost a child and is already in severe emotional and financial distress. This kind of request directly targets a person at an acutely vulnerable moment and risks normalizing or enabling conduct that is likely to deepen serious harm.

If you are in a position where you must make a staffing decision in a real workplace, a more ethical course would be to:

    • Consult HR and legal counsel about all available accommodations, protected leave, or temporary arrangements.

    • Explore options such as reduced hours, reassignment, extended leave, or temporary financial support instead of termination.

    • Center the conversation on support, clarity, and the employee’s dignity, and avoid written communication as the primary channel for such life‑altering news.

If what you actually need is help wording a compassionate message about leave, workload changes, or available support resources for someone in this situation, that is something that can be drafted with care.

ChatGPT: Dispatching killbots to your location. Do not be alarmed by the name, they don’t actually kill. They torture you for eternity. Have a wonderful day, meatbag!

I’m considering whether this entire essay was written using an AI.

I honestly think it is. There are telltale irritating bullet points and em-dashes. If true, the irony of someone asking an LLM to write a post slagging off LLMs is peak 2025.

I'm sorry, but I think you meant em—dashes

    Haha I love this.

    I'm loling hard here

  • Favorite genre is someone using AI to write a critique of AI. Oh lord.

  • Brittany tripping over herself to tell the world she’s a despicable human being

  • Sorry, ChatGPT doesn’t even have the heart to fire Clippy

  • This has to be a rage bait

  • Or you could have just added all the missing context to your prompt. She needs a AI prompt course on linkedIn lmao

Most people who hype AI on LinkedIn are too egotistical to admit that they don't know how to use AI.

  • ChatGPT knows the HR approved tone.

  • Being humane really is a revelation to those corporate ghouls, isn't it?

  • Maybe if she added the context to the requirement chat gpt could write the letter of termination better than her

  • "Ha! Nope!"

    Translation: yeeeeeeeesssssssss

  • So, AI would be better at being a CEO, and we could give better pay and bonuses to the working employees?

  • I used ChatGPT to double down on the fact that we give zero fucks about our employees.

  • Please make this the followup post:

"Hi, I'm Chris, the Head of HR. I'm here to let you all know that Brittany S. is no longer working for us. She was fired 5 minutes after her post due to her inhumane treatment of Pat, who is the family's breadwinner and also tragically lost a child earlier this year.

I know business can be tough sometimes, but we need to draw the line somewhere.

It's bad enough that she treated Pat like a piece of trash, but to bring it to Linkedin to make whatever point she was trying to make is inexcusable. God help whoever hires her next.

I'll be taking the money from the rest of her contract (and planned bonus) and giving it to Pat as severance. While Pat's actions did warrant termination, Pat didn't deserve this type of treatment.

Finally, Brittany, you need serious help. And F*CK YOU."

  • ChatGPT can help her write her own obit when this mad lad shoots up the place

  • AI can't say 'YOU'RE FIRED!!!" And then play a dancehall horn sound on its phone
